They went above and beyond, even organizing a visit to my mother’s old school and finding her name in the register—a deeply touching and personal moment. The accommodations were lovely, providing comfort amidst the breathtaking landscapes. The stunning views of the mountains and valleys were worth every step of the journey. This trip was much more than a vacation—it was a combination of exploration, education, and connection. Highly recommend it for anyone seeking a meaningful cultural adventure. Fantastic experience: In November 2023, myself and a few friends traveled to India for a tour with Lincoln and India Unbound to West Bengal, Sikkim & Darjeeling. The trip was above my expectations, are guides were friendly, knowledgeable and helpful, the cars we traveled in were quite luxurious, and the drivers expert at managing India's chaotic traffic. The walking was at a moderate fitness level and most enjoyable. Accommodation different at each location but always impressive. I was fascinated by these areas, travelling beside huge river beds and winding up hillsides and then down again, the scenery was stunning, so different to other areas of India I had seen. Fantastic experience: In November 2023 I went to India on a tour arranged by India Unbound for 2 weeks “Walking in the Hills of the Himalaya’s and Sikkim”, a small group tour was a fantastic way to see a small part of this very diverse and interesting country. The organisation of our tour could not be faulted as every detail was taken care of by our very experienced guides and drivers. To see the beautiful scenery and mountains, to walk in the local food markets, to stroll around the villages and farms and to eat the amazing food, was a delight and a privilege. After our tour to Sikkim, my travelling companion and I travelled on an “India Unbound” custom tour to other parts of India, personally arranged by Lincoln to align with our interests. Our tour to Delhi, Agra and Kerala was perfect for us with all our transport and tours arranged. Everything went like clockwork. We had a wonderful holiday in India and would not hesitate to go again with “India Unbound”.

Fantastic experience: I traveled to Sikkim and West Bengal in late October/ early November 2023 on a two week walking trip. This was the first time I had been on a small group tour organised by India Unbound. From start to finish, everything was well planned and executed. The accommodation was all first-rate and ranged from home stays, colonial hotels, planters houses to tea plantations. The walking was challenging enough for those with reasonable fitness, but there were always more relaxing options available. Throughout the trip we were accompanied by expert guides/tour leaders who were able to provide local context and ensure everyone was looked after. The local food was consistently excellent and varied. Additionally, we had a group of drivers, skilled in the local road conditions and consequently I always felt safe and comfortable on the winding and steep roads. I enjoyed this trip so much that I plan to book another walking tour with India Unbound next year. The above was my fourth trip organised by India Unbound. My previous trips were between 2007 and 2013 and were focused on South India and North Central India. These were independent trips either solo or with my partner. The logistics, including drivers, trains, guides and hotels were all organised by Lincoln and his team and were customised to our specific interests and requirements. Each time everything ran smoothly and provided us with a memorable trip, and it is a testament to that deep experience of Indian travel and ability to organise effectively that has meant that we have been repeat customers.

Fantastic experience: This was my second trip using India Unbound. This trip focussed on walking in northern India. Once again the team was seamless, and it was clear every member of the team enjoyed working together to provide the best guest experience possible. Fantastic experience: India Unbound organised a 30 day tour of selected parts of India which was well tailored to our travel interests and accommodation standards. It was organised for only the two of us. It was a combination of frenetic city experiences and country tranquility and village moments. We experienced a variety of transport modes which enabled us to see more facets of Indian life. We also did a four day hike in the Himalayan foot hills which was a highlight. The local agents, guides and drivers were excellent, being very punctual, which meant we were never thinking about 'where, when what' as it was all very well organised. We did have free days as well which also allowed us to venture out on our own experiencing public transport, taxis etc and finding our own food choices. It was a lot of fun and India and its people are very welcoming. It is important to have guides, particular good ones, to put India, warts and all, and its huge population into context otherwise it could be a very misunderstood country. I would thoroughly recommend this company to anyone who prefers bespoke travel.

Fantastic experience: In the initial stages of planning our inaugural trip to India, we found ourselves becoming completely overwhelmed and confused by the vast array of places and experiences to visit in the amazing country of India. Having done our own research and googling, we found that rather than narrowing our field of vision of what we could do, and where to go...we seemed be adding more and more options onto our India travel "wish list". We only had two weeks, and hoped to make the best of our time there to get a genuine feel for the people, the culture, history and ordinary way of life. From the very outset the team at India Unbound (led by Lincoln) seemed to intuitively understand the types of travellers that we were and what we were looking to experience. In discussing our potential itinerary with Lincoln in the lead up to the holiday, his advice was always very measured and clearly informed by his own vast knowledge of India. Even with such a short amount of time (which we exclusively spent in Rajasthan), the itinerary was incredibly varied, with each location offering a different insight into life into city, rural and remote desert and village life. Although any travel in India has its challenges, these were offset by the fabulous selections of accommodation, and smooth as silk organization offered by both our local guides, selected day tours and our wonderful driver Mr Mukut. We had the most extraordinary time on our recent holiday, and are already planning our next adventure :)
