Fantastic experience: Mel always goes above & beyond for her clients. I wouldn’t use anyone else to book our travels with as she knows all the best places & deals. If I could give more stars, I would! My little family of 3 have just come back from Fiji where Mel organized our accommodation at Musket Cove Island Resort, all our transfers & flights. Fantastic experience: We recently approached Melanie Clout from Clout Travel for a Quote to undertake a tour through Greece and Croatia/Solvenia. Melanie was polite and responsive to our needs, and even managed to secure a past passenger discount for us from Globus Travel who we had used a number of times previously. This was unexpected but most welcome. Melanie is very passionate about her business and the clients she assists, and I would certainly recommend her to anyone requiring the services of an experienced local travel agent.

Fantastic experience: Have just returned from a fabulous holiday in Europe. I sent Mel a spreadsheet with my plans, including some non-negotiables (hotels I’d chosen, side trips I’d found). Mel and the team organized all the details, hotels, flights, trains, transfers and tours. It all worked perfectly and complied with my requests. The hotels were all close to the centre of cities so it was easy to get around while there. The team made sure that there was enough time between trains/flights to make our connections (even when in some cases there were delays. Both the emailed documentation and the hard copies contained useful notes and reminders about such things as on-line check-ins, tours and transfers that had to be confirmed. Mel kept in touch where necessary with reminders and updates, changed a tour when we were half-way through the trip and responded promptly (and out of hours) when we were given some misinformation. I couldn’t be more delighted with the team.

Fantastic experience: Melanie showed a real interest in helping us plan our trip, unlike some of the "big " agents who wanted to railroad us into one of their preset packages, which would have us tied down to doing what they wanted us to do. I would advise all to check & read all your travel documents because sometimes there are little details that can be very relevent to your hassle-free journey. We found this out ourselves simply because we overlooked a small detail that could have caused us ti miss a train journey. Luckily, we had enough "wriggle room" timewise and were able to get it sorted. The last stage of our trip included 5 nights at a seaside resort, but upon arrival at the resort, we were told that the room we booked via Melanie was not available, and the resort was at capacity. We were put up in a less than ideal room, which was disappointing for us. The next morning, we had advice from Melanie, that her wholesaler had unfortunately made an error with our booking and there was nothing we could do about it. Melanie went in to bat for us with the offending wholesaler and succeeded in obtaining a full refund for the accommodation package, including our meals! Apart from that (we still enjoyed our time at the resort anyway), our trip overall was very enjoyable and we would recommend Clout travel to anybody who is planning a holiday either with everything, tours etc set in concrete, or just traveling to your own choice of destinations without being tied to tour timetables, restaurants, visiting specific sites etc. It's nice if things go wrong, to know you have an agent who is looking after your best interests and is prepared to take on and rectify any errors. Negative experience: EDIT: Expected response from Clout Travel - no ownership and blame on anything except the facts. Let alone, deciding to issue tickets BEFORE they received the passport when names provided for a different trip clearly marked as TBC, laughable really...the list goes on. I just hope this review deters others from having such a horrendous experience. The interactions with Clout Travel (Melanie) started off quite well, recommendations sounded good and quite responsive for the first couple of weeks. Unfortunately that is where it stopped, if i could give a 'minus' star I definitely would. Melanie was handling a group trip for which my sister and I were part of, however my friend was the lead contact for Japan trip. As a side request I made some inquiries about a separate trip to Europe for my sister and I. Melanie quoted prices for flights and rushed us to pay as prices were apparently going up. We paid accordingly as requested (mid march 2023), however we were not sent a receipt or E-Tickets, I did not worry too much about this as she was a 'tried and proven' agent which had been used by a friend and expected she would ask for passport details. A point to note is that at NO time did Melanie request my details as the contact for Europe trip or copies of our passports, as every other travel agent does. Two weeks later (early Apr 2023), my friend who was organizing the Japan trip, requested copies of passports and we provided them for the Japan trip. Although the information was provided in a timely manner, Clout travel decided to issue the Japan tickets without sighting the passports, even though the names provided originally were clearly marked as TO BE CONFIRMED. We received the Japan E-Tickets and identified to Mel that my sisters name was WRONG on the E-ticket, and when I asked her why they were issued BEFORE the passports were received, she responded that she just wanted to issue them in the morning!. Furthermore, we discovered that she does not book seats which meant my sister and had to sit separately on some of the flights as I was not aware she had not booked seats for us as every other travel agent does. The name issue was rectified for Japan as we notified her within 24hrs. Now this is where the fun began. This prompted me to followed up on our Europe payment receipt E-tickets which we had not received only to discover the my sisters E-ticket had been issued to the wrong name also. This was highlighted to Mel on 2-Apr-2023, and was not resolved until mid November 2023 and only after Fair Trading was engaged. Throughout the 6 months, we had minimal updates from Clout Travel, at first we were patient and followed up every 3 to 4 weeks, to which we would eventually receive a short don't know much have to wait on the airlines. At the advise of Fair Trading we sent an email providing a timeline for resolution or alternatively we would engage Fair Trading. We received an unprofessional aggressive email placing ownership on everyone except Clout Travel. Furthermore, the contact details provided to the airlines were incorrect so I could not receive any notifications on flight changes etc...and no seats were booked for us at all, which meant we had to sit separately on multiple flights. The absolutely worse experience with a travel agent. The name change to my sisters flights caused us further issues when coming home. Normally there are may be two airlines mentioned on the flights, ours was Emirates, however there was also a Qantas flight number on the board. Due to the changes made by Clout Travel we were unable to get boarding passes for a leg of the journey (my sisters name appeared both on Emirates AND Qantas flight) until we engaged Emirates directly to fix yet another issue. So many other issues I could mention. I would recommend Clout Travel and will never used them again.

Not only did I manage to book, but she found a better price then all of the websites. I would go back not only to plan a holiday, but also to book a flight ticket. I can also do it with email.

Just recently my parents came to visit from Spain and Melanie organised a fantastic holiday for us in Uluru, accomodations, activities, flights, cars, the whole lot. Fantastic experience: We have booked two international trips with Clout Travel. Each time the service provided by Melanie has been outstanding. Her knowledge and in turn guidance with ideas of available options was most reassuring and this gave us significant confidence in the selection and booking of accommodation and sight-seeing options which we would not have otherwise chosen. Fantastic experience: Efficient, knowledgeable, fair-price: Knowing that Melanie Clout previously worked for a company that did "boutique" travel I wasn't sure if my flights to Ireland (and a visit to Singapore on the way home) to visit family would be too small a job for her to accept. But she was all too happy to help, and asked good questions to figure out my likes/dislikes/requirements in order to accommodate. When I did a quick comparison of flight times/ hotel costs Melanie bettered the online prices and times, and went the extra mile to check my random queries on the smallest things. Recommend!!

At the time of writing this, there is so much uncertainty around travel restrictions and the hoops you need to jump through. Mel is my "peace of mind". When you have made a booking, and your flights change or cancel, she'll have it all sorted, rebooked and you'll have your new ticket in your inbox before you even find out from the Carrier - I know a few P.A.'s that would lover her in their corner. Fantastic experience: Melanie at Clout Travel recently organised accommodation for our group of 5 people, for a driving holiday looking for lighthouses, down the coast of New South Wales from Brisbane to Toukley, a town near The Entrance and return via the New England Highway. Fantastic experience: Melanie Clout has looked after us for many years and after moving to her agency we have not had a problem or misunderstanding as to our travel arrangements or expectations. Her advice ( and tailored options we would never had thought of or located ourselves ) has been spot on. BTW When we ran into the odd difficulty, she would use all her contacts and expertise to ensure we were OK. e.g. Last year, our daughter gave birth 2 months early and we needed to get up to Darwin on the next flight. Melanie organised flights , accomodation and car hire while we looked after the quarantine and border approvals. Melanie worked through the weekend to ensure it all happened for us so we could be there to support our family. Melanie has fixed up (without extra cost) some messed up international flights and bookings from our previous agent, arranged refunds for us from our 2020 pre Covid international trips through Europe, rearranged on several occasions our COIVD impacted Australian travel as well as organising all the details concerning our pre- COVID Cruises throughout the South Pacific and NZ. Melanie is unflappable and nothing is too much trouble. She "underpromises and over performs". Melanie specialises in listening and understanding exactly what you want and your budget .. and then she provides realistic options ( and the odd wild card ) to ensure that you get what you expect. We feel we are lucky to work with her and for her to "have our back". Thanks for everything Melanie :)!
