Fantastic experience: The owners have done a lot of work to create a relaxed atmosphere and nice food and lovely surroundings to enjoy with friends.

Negative experience: Disappointed that as a group of 50 we were sandwiched in like sardines at our tables. Had to climb over people to get to outside deck. Would not recommend for large groups. The Hawksberry Postman Cruise so much better.

Fantastic experience: Not upmarket, but top quality and very comfortable. The venue, the food the service and the views, are all excellent. The staff are the friendliest that I have ever encountered, in my 74 years.

Fantastic experience: We had an amazing lunch cruise. Best value lunch cruise. It was such a really nice relaxing affair to be on the boat cruising along the Georges River while munching on some freshly cooked lunch.

Positive experience: Wonderful boat ride around the George's River. Food average, fish n chips ok, chicken was completely tough, the salad was just green with nothing to recommend it, the saving grace was delicious sliced ham...

Fantastic experience: My Husband and I go on the sightseeing cruise on the Sunday in February each year as it marks our wedding anniversary. We had our wedding reception on the Bass and Flinders in 1991. It was fantastic then and still is today. The staff have always been amazing with us at all times. Thank you for your professionalism and friendship throughout all these 34 years. Will hope to see you next year Peter and Julie Agnew

Fantastic experience: It was such an enjoyable experience. We came here for the Australia Day cruise fireworks. It was very well organised, the crew was lovely, the food was great, the ambiance was lovely and the actual cruise was scenic and enjoyable. We had a party of 51 friends and family and everyone complemented how great the service was and the great selection of food at the buffet. Very professionally run. Staff were friendly and courteous. The sights along the river were a bonus. Highly recommended.

Owner herself will be assisting you personally, such a lovely hardworking lady. So many new dishes added in breakfast and lunch menu wth tab beer. And other drinks too. Scenic river view and friendly staff. I love their milkshake wraps and salad

Positive experience: Great place with a great view. The staff are friendly. Love the atmosphere of the place. The chef walked round to speak with customers, which is nice. I didn't particularly enjoy my eggs Benedict as it was just average. The salmon wasn't particularly nice either, which is a pity. The rest in my group had coffee and cake, which they enjoyed.

Fantastic experience: A big shout-out to Bass and Flinders Cruises!. They provided the venue for the Christmas Cruise for Gymea Combined Probus Club and a very fine job they made of it too. Food was fine, staff were very attentive and the pace of the cruise around Port Botany was just right. A perfect setting. We'll be back!

Fantastic experience: Great cruise. Wonderful morning tea and lunch and five of us enjoyed it. The staff were excellent and the bar was open. Very reasonable price. We will go again and recommend it to other people. The cruise went up to Alfords Point along Georges River., Beautiful scenery.

Fantastic experience: Had a cruise with as group of seniors in September and October. All of our seniors loved the trip, the informative commentary by the Captain, the food and the staff. A bit difficult for walkers in the toilet and no wheelchairs. But everyone loved it and are looking forward to doing it again in the future. Thank you B&F and all the staff.

Fantastic experience: We would highly recommend Bass & Flinders. We went on their 2019 NYE cruise and it was fantastic! We had done our research and saw some mixed reviews but this was due to confusion between this and another company they had been associated to. Our concerns were completely alleviated through interactions primarily with Caren and Melissa. We had been told they’d be in the Circular Quay area and we weren’t disappointed. The views were fantastic of fireworks between the bridge and opera house. It was truly memorable and the staff were so polite, friendly and they also supported requests for vegetarian food and Rose wine! Caren spent her time cooking the food and the entire team made us feel so welcome. The fireworks were absolutely fantastic and we couldn’t recommend the Bass & Flinders team enough - they were even accommodating to our personal circumstances where we may not have been able to attend. Thanks so much Caren, Sue, Steve, Melissa and all others as part of this team - truly such a memory for us to treasure. Warmest, Amisha & Nik xxx

Positive experience: Did the dinner cruise many years ago.Hope to do again soon.

Negative experience: Booked a whale watching tour for 29 August 2019, during supposedly the peak of whale watching season. Even though it was raining, with high-winds, the boat took off and was forced to come back because of the gale force winds and rough seas. Of course, we were not able to see any whales. All subsequent tours for this company and other well watching companies were canceled for the day. We were told we had a voucher to come back and board free of charge. I unfortunately was leaving the following day to go back to Europe. I spoke both to the staff on board and on the pier and their advice was that I write to the company and explain my situation. I was assured, that due to the extenuating circumstances about the weather and the fact that I was leaving permanently the following day, I would be issued a refund. I wrote to the company, enclosing copies of my airline tickets, for the following day, and the first response after 18 days was ... to close my ticket without even replying to me! I sent another email again with copies of my tickets to show them that I would not be coming back to Australia and that I was a permanent resident in a foreign country and this time, after 14 days, I get a response that they were forwarding my ticket to corporate. Finally, after 25 days, I get the following response: “Unfortunately your request has been rejected, as per booking condition, we are unable to refund for any return voucher. You can keep your return voucher for the next season.” So basically, the bottom line is, even though the company canceled all the trips for that day because of the weather conditions ( which were bad to begin with) and we were forced to come back because of those same weather conditions, there is no refund! Buyer beware! Be very careful! Personally, I would not use them again! This was not an issue of not seeing any whales…

Fantastic experience: We took the cruise that covered the port hacking area and also the Georges River it was a very informative and relaxing cruise with a very good and corteous service and food was very good and tasty.

Positive experience: Good food, nice cruise up the river. Down-to-earth slightly grumpy skipper (quite reasonable though). We did a day trip party with finger food. The table setup was slightly different to what we organised but still worked. The boat is well done internally but looking a bit old externally - and their new boat looks like quite an upgrade.

Fantastic experience: Lovely 3 1/2 hour luncheon cruise around Sylvania Waters and on the Georges River.

Negative experience: NYE 2017 was ruined for us by supermarket party pies and quiches and false advertising of position for fireworks display. boat moved from side to side completely obscuring the view of everyone on the back deck of Arafura Pearl and to add insult to injury of us and the mainly international tourist passengers the crew left us unattended to get up on the top deck of the boat to watch the fireworks uninterrupted. Paid $650 dollars for this sham. The city provided a spectacular night, pity this company spoiled the main event.

Fantastic experience: Pleasant and beautiful exoerience the food, the service snd commentary about different places of the Bayvare excellent.

Negative experience: Good friendly staff but the boats area bit tired and need some TLC.Also food is fine .
