Fantastic experience: I planned my whole trip for 3.5 months with Vera. We booked the east coast, Tasmania, Uluru and New Zealand. She did most of the activities herself and she was very good at informing me about them. I had the most amazing trip ever thanks to her!

Fantastic experience: If you want help in discussing what options are best for you for any tours, island or boat trips when travelling Australia. This is a great place to go and seek advice. Bobbi helped talk us through which boats and trips were more party focused or adventure. She wasn’t forceful and didn’t push us to do anything we weren’t so keen on. Negative experience: When we booked a skydive tour with Giligans Travel we were told by the girl who worked there that the tour would start at 6:45 with pick up and end around 10:00. Because we had a flight that day (and it was the only day that we could do the skydive because of the weather), at 14:30 we were a bit hesitant at first to book it, but she said that it would be totally fine because the location was very nearby at we would be done and have more than enough time to arrive at the airport on time. As we went on the bus with the organisation with whom we did it, they told us that it was a 1,5 hour ride and that we would be done at 12:00. Luckily we made it to the airport because the guys from Skydive Cairns were super helpful and dropped us off first at the airport and we had 45 minutes to check in and go through security! We now felt that Giligans was just in it for the money and was not honest to us.

Negative experience: My sister and her friend (both 18 and travelling for the first time) recently bought some excursions here from Kyle. He bullied them into purchasing more than they wanted, which they weren't able to afford. He demanded my sisters friend called her parents to transfer the money and when she said they wouldn't be able to due to work, sent my sister running back to the hostel to get her wallet whilst her friend sat in the store crying. We went back into the store and managed to get a refund for one of the excursions that had been cancelled. It was fortunate we were back in Cairns as it was proving impossible to get any kind of response from them. We used this opportunity to raise the issues with the manager Ryan who gave very little support. Clearly this is their sales structure! Be aware this is an organisation designed to harvest as much money as possible with zero repercussions, exploiting naive backpackers who will never return to the store. If you must use this company use the 'Happy Travels' branch on Abbott St as it seems to be run much more professionally under the manager Bobbi.

Fantastic experience: Gilliagan is so freaking lively and good vibes place to stay. I am Indian living with one aussie and one European girl. Room is cozy with small locker. Hostel is also having proper kitchen and spaces to chill at. Reception staff is very friendly and answer to your queries. Hostel also had a basket full of sunscreen bottles must have for cairns. Only problem is if you want to sleep peacefully it might be trouble as it is not having proper noise cancellation in rooms for party noise and vibrations. You can feel it even after wearing earplugs.

Fantastic experience: Thank you Kirk for nailing the brief = Kirk organised two days of fun for me who loves a spontaneous trip. Kirk set me up with a superb day out in Kuranda (Sky Cable - lunch in Kuranda and visit to the Butterfly Sanctuary, closing out with the Scenic Railway back down to Cairns). For my final day, Kirk organised a day of Snorkeling, marine biology presentations, submersible sub and a seafood feast at Michaelmas Cay with Ocean Spirit Cruises. Kirk for CEO! Thank you Kirk.

Negative experience: I will definitely not recommend to book a car with this travel agency. It was very confusing about the price that the guy told us at the beginning and what we paid at the car rectal. I try to call him a couple of times, he just declined the calls and I am still waiting for an explanation.
