Negative experience: I have used this company twice before with no issues. But take care; I feel they can be very unprofessional with their company processes in place - when they make an error, in correcting it. I was waiting for a corrected visa all week, didn’t come through when they assured my travel agent it would. Was driving to Sydney Saturday night, for very early flight Sunday. It appeared to me no important information was passed on in a timely manner, and there was little forethought to put a reliable back-up plan in motion, everything to be done last minute, overnight, before leaving, not very comforting.

Negative experience: Recently returned from a Wendy Wu Discover Japan 12 day tour and would NOT recommend Wendy Wu. Japan is a gorgeous place and we saw some incredible sights. Overpriced for what we got. Accommodation was third rate, not what was offered. Food was awful and the same thing every day with no other option and no explanation of what we were eating and how to cook it on the hot plate or in a cooking pot? All so-called restaurants were dinghy backstreet upstairs, entry through the tiny kitchens and done on the cheap. Walked past many bright, welcoming, attractive restaurants to end up in the alternative as mentioned. Well meaning, hard working, but unintelligible tour guides. Why second class on the bullet train when it's supposedly a first class tour? None of our seating preferences were met on Singapore Airlines. The best part was our add-on trip to Hiroshima which was a great experience with great guides from a separate company. Overall, could have spent less and got more. Such a disappointment for a trip that was planned for some time and feel totally let down by the misrepresentation of what was offered and what you get. WHATEVER YOU DO, DONT GO WENDY WU!!

Fantastic experience: We've not long come back from a fabulous 17 day tour of Laos and Cambodia with Wendy Wu Tours. We had a fabulous time exploring these two amazing countries. Our local guides were fabulous and really helped us learn so much about the amazing culture and history of these two countries. Of course, the main highlight was our visit to Angkor Wat however there were many other great highlights of our adventure. This is our third Wendy Wu Tour having completed tours of Vietnam and China in 2013 and 2014, respectively. When looking to travel to Laos and Cambodia, Wendy Wu was our first choice. Wendy Wu's organisation went like clockwork and I would thoroughly recommend this company for anyone wanting a hassle free travel experience.

Negative experience: If I could give no stars for my trip "Discover Japan" in March/April this year, I would! I tell everyone I can about the terrible experience especially about the rude, disgruntled and inexperienced guide that we had! Not only was the trip terrible but it was appalling how my complaint was handled. I can see many have had wonderful experiences so I was very optimistic that spending an exorbitant amount of money would give me the best cultural experience. It didn't...a couple of examples! 28 people with a guide who wouldn't answer questions and couldn't manage a large group. We were told if we didn't listen, we miss out! We were herded into a large hall; given a tea ceremony demonstration and told to pour our own tea. I can do that at home! We went to the Geisha district and walked the streets with no sign of any Geisha. If you have a food intolerance, you will not be "allowed" to sit with your friends. They will tell you where to sit and with whom! To finish on a good note, I did meet lovely people and we all made the most of a challenging situation. My advice though, don't waste your money on this travel company!

Fantastic experience: My husband & I have recently returned from a 3 week holiday “Magnificent China”.. our trip was everything & more than we expected, from the organisation, the fabulous hotels and delicious food & the optional extra tours.. everything was just perfect. Marissa, our national guide was absolutely outstanding, with a smile on her face everyday, from her knowledge & pride in her work to the care and attention she gave to everyone on our tour… Never have we had a guide so attentive. We would recommend China to anyone and if you go, we just hope you’re lucky like we were and have Marissa as your guide. Thank you Wendy Wu..

Positive experience: Just got back from "A Week in Japan " tour While tour was good Wendy Wu completely missinformed and missadvissed some of our older passengers about amount of walking done, some days up to 10klms .This caused stress to some of a fellow passengers I tried to ring them upon return but they have not had the courtesy of a reply Food was good, but repetitive and mostly server cold, Places we saw were excellent and our guide also excellent I feel they should be more careful with their advertising it is very misleadi IN ADDITION After reading more reviews, it appears they have been advised of these concerns over the last two years over different platforms, so it would appear that just so care that much

Fantastic experience: My husband and I have recently returned from the Ancient Empires of China and Japan tour. We thoroughly enjoyed the contrast between the both countries as we had not previously visited either one. We had a great group of people drawn from Australia,New Zealand and the UK. The tour organisation was like clockwork without any issues for the full 20 days. We would particularly like to draw your attention to our tour leader in China. Ivy went above and beyond to ensure we all went home with a memorable experience. Ivy is a great ambassador not only of her country, but also for the Wendy Wu Tour organisation. Ivy was also assisted by a number of great local guides also. Our only negative comment is that during the Japan section of our tour things did not flow as organised as the China section. We believe that the main reason for this is that it got a bit hectic for a single tour leader, with large groups without the assistance of local guides like in China. Overall we had a great time and would not hesitate to recommend Wendy Wu tours to others.

Negative experience: Went on the Japan tour discover Japan waste of money, would haver been better off going by ourselves. Spent most of the time travelling for hours in a coach also the food was mostly local not much choice. Would not recommend Wendy Wu and would never use them again over priced and poor quality.

Fantastic experience: We went on Vietnam at a Glance tour last month and enjoyed every minute. The country is beautiful, there is so much to see and our guide Lap was wonderful, knowledgeable, helpful and caring of everyone’s particular needs. He made the whole experience more memorable indeed.

Fantastic experience: We went with Wendy Wu on our honeymoon in Japan. 18 days traveling through Japan was an unforgettable experience. Wendy Wu travel has been recommended to us by our travel agent as Asian travel specialists. We had a fantastic, well organised trip. Our guide was amazing with very clear good english. Our trip was very well organised without any hiccups. Plenty activities with some free time in the big cities were appreciated. Over all amazing trip and great company to travel with. Only negative feedback: We have been told our fellow travellers will be between 40-60 years old. We are 50 and we were the youngest in our group of 28. Most travellers were in late 60. With half in mid 70-83!. It caused some challenges for the group as couple were not very mobile and did struggle to keep up with the fast pace of the holiday. But it was good bunch of people and we still had a good time. In Kyoto Wendy Wu should offer a Geisha show as n optional extra. Most of our group would off loved to see the Geisha show. But it was all sold out when we wanted to go in our free time. You can see Geisha show in Tokyo, but for double of the price and it was not easy to find a show it Tokyo. The Namura Samurai house wasn't that interesting as we so much nicer Samurai house later on the trip so maybe offering Gaysha show and allocate more free time in Kyoto would off be nicer. Only our opinion and we are mentioning it so other travellers may have even better trip than we did! From the itinerary for 18 days this is the only negative feedback. Other than that the trip was really well organised. Good quality accomodation, good variety of Japanese food, and a great activities to showcase Japanese culture. We would travel with Wendy Wu again. Great travel agency to go with. We felt safe and loved all the experiences.

Fantastic experience: Have just completed the Vietnam tour and cannot fault our tour guide Nguyen Van Dinh, he was excellent, he was patient, caring, informative and went above and beyond in assisting those that needed it, answered all our questions, the guide can make a difference to the experience you have. HE made the difference. Was a great experience appreciate that it was a tour, I would have found it difficult on my own. Thoroughly recommend Wendy Wu Tours, great accommodation and places to see. Learning their culture was a highlight.

Fantastic experience: Further to my pre tour rant, have returned from the Essential Japan tour. Totally blown away by the trip, the tour guide Yoko was amazingly good, patient and with a warm personality to go with a great sense of humour. The tour itself covered the major spots and with the blossom in full bloom it was a sight not to miss. the selection of hotels was good, food was varied and always presented well as well as tasty, probably too much midday! Transfers on coaches and trains were brilliant. Definitely highly recommend Wendy Wu Tours.

Fantastic experience: My wife and I have just returned from a 16 day China experience, first trip away with Wendy Wu but wont be the last.Great accommodation and meals, small friendly group from all around the world. Had the best guide "ALICE" looking after all our needs, nothing was a problem to this respectful, knowledgeable, English speaking Chinese young girl, very passionate about her roll in making our trip a memorable one. Alice was certainly accepted and appreciated by everyone, and any Wendy Wu Tour under her control will ensure the group miss nothing and bring home great memories.Congratulations Wendy Wu you have picked a winner in Alice and her local guides. Positive experience: We recently took part in Wendy Wu's 10 day China Experience tour. (16-26 October 2016). The scope of the trip appeared to be what we wanted, ie. to see the icons of China in a relatively short space of time. We started in Shanghai, encompassing Zhujoakiao water town, museum, People's Square, Silk museum and a harbour/bund light show and cruise. then Xian for the amazing Terracotta Warriors, city wall, Wild Goose Pagoda and the Muslim Quarter market. Finally Beijing for Tiananem Sq, Forbidden city, Temple of Heaven and a walk on the Great Wall. All these attractions teamed with a KungFu Show and Acrobatic demo side events made for a busy schedule but ticked off plenty of bucket list items. In the time available I doubt we could have crammed in anymore. 3 meals a day of Chinese cuisine gave us the opportunity to try local and traditional fare, and there was plenty on offer. As a side note here, some of the restaurants were not up to the standard of venues on our previous tours with this company (crowded dining rooms, drink prices on the high side and early to eat or rushed to mesh with other bus diner groups.) At the start we were joined by our National Guide, Garry Guo who quickly earned the respect of the group with his enthusiastic presentation and attention to detail and making sure everyone was not impacted adversely by necessary changes in plans.. The program was altered a number of times to suit local issues (usually congested traffic delays) and on all occasions Garry discussed and explained why and what we needed to do. There was never any doubt that we understood we were in good hands. His rapport with local guides helped to ensure we heard and understood the cultural and historic information and knowledge being passed on to us. Garry is an asset to the Wendy Wu company and this was publicly endorsed in the farewell function comments. In general summary this is a good starter trip if you want a snapshot of the country and to experience the "big ticket items" It did what we wanted.

Positive experience: Wonders of China: We both loved our China tour indeed, thanks to our wonderful Tour Guide George Pu. He truly deserves all the credit of making our tour a memorable one. George Pu, I believe, went over and above his duty of care, spoiling us all with clock work organised events. However, the one thing that was annoying, was his continued time away from the team helping a "wheelchair team member " - when we needed his attention, he was helping this wheelchair lady into the bus, into the restaurant, into the transport, etc. In my opinion, Wendy Wu should not have put her with able body people. I think there should've been more "me time " on the tour. There was far too much, crammed into each day. We don't understand why the Muslim Street tour (no disrespect to the Muslims). The food was great but towards the end of the tour, Maccas and Pizzas, and even a good Irish stew, (we did go to a Irish Pub on the last night) was high on our preferred menu. Having said that, George truly did his very best to cater for us all. And lastly, "smoking " in the Hotels and Restaurants was disgraceful. Wendy Wu needs to be aware of this problem in the Hotels they choose for us. In my opinion, George Pu should be commended for his organisational skills right up to each individual boarding their homeward bound flights. What an amazing man. Fantastic experience: We went on the Vietnam tour. Our tour guide, Hoi was fantastic, friendly and very knowledgeable. We saw so much and Hoi made it very interesting. I only have one little complaint, while we saw a lot, we didn’t get much down time to do shopping, and when we did, the hotels were away from shopping, we had to catch a taxi but that is only a minor thing. We will be using Wendy Wu again.

Positive experience: We have just returned from an amazing trip to cambodia & Vietnam , have walked klms & climbed a million stairs, our tour quires were informative and helpful in everyday. My husband found at 71 the pace was too fast, itinerary too full, but I at 69 kept up and loved every minute! Thankyou !

Fantastic experience: My parents and I have just returned from the Highlights of India tour with Wendy Wu and we had an absolutely wonderful time. Our tour guide Jasvir was amazing and went above and beyond to make our holiday truly memorable and special. Jasvir was a wealth of knowledge about all the different places we visited, he we was organised so everything ran smoothly and he was just a joy to be around….I could tell he truly loved his job. I would definitely recommend the Highlights of India Tour through Wendy Wu to anyone wishing to to travel to India. I am already planning my next adventure to this beautiful country!

Negative experience: Booked our trip of a lifetime to Japan for March 2020 for the cherry blossom festival and 18 day tour. Then Covid changed everything. Wendy Wu were terrible to deal with. Wouldn’t give us a full refund. Lost so much money, never ever deal with them, they wouldn’t communicate with us, they lied, they stole our money and were most unhelpful, no sympathy shown, would never recommend them at all.

Fantastic experience: Recently returned from Vietnam on the Vietnam at a glance tour. Our tour guide John was fantastic and the tour itself was really well organised. We were unable to visit Halong Bay due to bad weather but an alterative was organised for us to visit Ninh Binh and it became one of the highlights of the trip! I will definitely be going back with Wendy Wu! Amazing experience and memories to cherish

Negative experience: We booked this tour thru Helloworld Campbelltown Mall. This tour was cancelled by Wendy Wu Tours not us. The cost of this tour was $13,086.00 (no international flights were included in this price). Wendy Wu charged $4,358.00 for third party fees, Helloworld charged $1,500.00 Plus $110.00 admin fee. So we were out of pocket for a trip that Wendy Wu Cancelled. I do not recommend this company and will never ever booked with them again. Wendy Wu tours you should be ashamed of yourself.

Negative experience: Wendy Wu has a "Customary tipping" amount - perhaps $100+ - that is compulsory but they claim it is not part of the tour cost. Are they kidding? If it is not part of the cost of taking a Weny Wu tour what is it?

Fantastic experience: April 2019 - Majestic Yangtze Tour. We have just arrived back from this tour and cannot recommend it enough. Our national tour guide Lily along with the local guides provided us with 1st class service and an enormous amount of local knowledge and history. The standard of the hotels were very good except some of the hotels didn't cater for western cultures ie an alcohol bar where you could sit, relax have a drink and catch up with your fellow tour mates to talk about your days adventures. The different modes of transport was also a great way to travel around the country. The Victoria Jenna Cruise ship up the Yangtze was one of the highlights of the tour. Many thanks to Lily once again and Wendy Wu for making this holiday such a joy and trouble free. Frank and Carolyn Quabba from Mackay Qld.

Positive experience: The feedback on the Tours is good, but be very careful about anything over and above the Tour booking as their pricing for pre/post or changes is over and beyond what it should be.

Fantastic experience: We have just returned from the 14 day Majestic Yangtze tour and I can't recommend it more highly. Our Tour Escort Penny Li was amazing, not only an excellent organizer but she cared especially well for those in our group who were a little less able. Five stars for her! Experiencing a different culture was great. Learning of the history through local guides and Cultural shows brought China alive. The river was beautiful, Tribe of the Three Gorges a wonderful presentation, the Dam a great achievement. Pandas, Warriors the Great Wall, the beauties of Xi'an, silk and jade, and of course the food - banquets twice a day and every possible food on display in the local markets, just amazing. I have no negative comment to make, well done Wendy Wu.

Fantastic experience: Oct 2019 - We have just returned from a 26 day 'Wendy Wu - Grand Tour of China' which was absolutely EXCELLENT!!! Our China holiday gave us an insight into a beautiful country, rich in history and tradition. We were extremely impressed with its clean and safe modern cities filled with beautiful helpful people. Our National Guide was Sam Gao who was very professional, his expert knowledge of history and facts on every city and region we visited was interesting and educational. Sam, together with the local guides, made the tour fun and a very enjoyable experience. The many activities, evening shows, meals and hotels were brilliant, and we had so much fun with the other members of our tour group. Thank you Wendy Wu & Sam, this was a fantastic holiday with fond memories that we will remember forever, and we will be recommending this Wendy Wu tour to all our friends. John & Elena

Negative experience: Disgusted......I took my almost 79 year old mother on their Jewels if Japan tour only to come home and both mum and are covered in bed bug bites. It has been 2 weeks since I sent my travel agent (Flight Centre MacArthur Square) photos and an email asking them to contact Wendy Wu and investigate their hotels. The travel agent did contact me to say they have forwarded my photos and email and that someone from Wendy Wu would contact me direct. Still waiting.

Fantastic experience: I took my grand daughter on "A China Experience" Tour from 7th October - 15th October 2018. Is exceptional Tour, well organized, National Tour Guide ALICE is an exceptional representative for Wendy Wu Tours, has a positive attitude to her work, good listener & has the ability to meet expectations of individual Tour group members combined with a brilliant sense of humor. Bus Drivers in each city deserve a metal for driving in such congested traffic & are certainly good at their job. Local Tour Guides were very helpful, informative & able to be flexible & good sense of humor. Highlights are obviously Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City, Terracotta Warriors. Other highlights are the Chinese people, a "glass half full rather than half empty" Attitude, wonderful sense of humor. I was pleasantly surprised at many Chinese are able to speak very good English making traveling within China much easier. China is a must see destination.

Fantastic experience: Just back from China after a tour with Wendy Wu amazing tour very comprehensive and excellent value our tour manager Hoffman was outstanding making sure that everything went smoothly He did more than he had to do Putting himself out to ensure that the tour was enjoyable The food was exceptional and the accomadation was 1st class Individual city guides were very knowledgeable I highly recommend Wendy Wu tours and if you are very lucky you might get Hoffman as your tour Manager If I go to Asia again I'd definitely go with Wendy Wu

Fantastic experience: We have just returned from our Vietnam Escape tour with Wendy Wu Tours. Absolutely fantastic time, everything was as expected and more. Our hotels were first class and our tour guides in each area were exceptional and very accommodating. Their knowledge of the areas is incredible, especially "Quong" in the Hoi An and Hue areas. Halon Bay was absolutely fantastic, our cruise boat and the crew were so helpful and went out of their way to ensure we had a good cruise. Well done Wendy Wu Tours

Positive experience: Since the posting paragraph below Wendy Wu Tours has for a small fee allowed my daughter to replace me as a travelling companion for my wife and I sincerely appreciate their decision to do so. I understand that their quote which doubled was a clerical error. Wendy Wu Tours doubled a quote they had provided to me when I booked. When I asked for a family member to travel with my wife because I could not travel due to uninsurable health issues, they insisted on a 50% fee.

Fantastic experience: My husband and I have just returned from doing the Rajasthan Panorama tour.Words are just not enough !! From the very first day we arrived we were bombarded with all the sights and sounds and smells of this wonderful country.Every city we stopped at brought its own new adventure and amazing experience. Camel riding in the desert and a night in a desert camp,jeep safaris and the incredible and rare sighting of a mother tiger and her cubs in the wild,stunning forts and palaces and of course the wonderful Taj Mahal at sunrise were just a few of the superb experiences we had.The accomodation,the food,the tour guide Raj,the bus driver and his helper and of course a group of great fellow travellers made this a trip without fault. Highly recommend this trip to anyone considering India as a destination.
