Negative experience: We are not long back from a wonderful European holiday that Ract Did NOT book , my partner and I sat down and worked out an itinerary with Cassi in Launceston, I was clear at this stage I was only wanting quotes on flights , once Cassi realised I wasn't interested in the tours she was pushing she was then not interested in us. I had to chase her thro emails and phone calls to find out about the flights we were interested in , she took so long we missed the sale prices and flights were considerably more , we then said ok let's just book it as we were time poor only to see she was charging us a $400 'signature ' booking fee , in my opinion we had no service she was hopeless , slow and not professional, I went elsewhere that day and had a new quote within 2 days and better flight connections. Will never use Ract travel again

Fantastic experience: Very good service
Negative experience: As a builder, I deal with a lot of insurance-related matters. In over 20 years in the game, I have only twice seen claims refused where they clearly should have been paid. In both cases the insurer was RACT. They engage unqualified people to write reports full of half-truths, factual errors and spelling mistakes. They take months to review material, even when high level expert reports prove beyond any doubt that the claim should be paid. Horrible people with an unethical approach. About 90% of my reviews are positive. I only leave bad reviews for the bottom of the barrel companies like RACT.

Fantastic experience: I had a wonderful experience this morning, being assisted by Simon and Lizzy. They were relentless, helping me to find a missing child seatbelt attachment, which was eventually found lodged in between the back seat of my car! We had never been able to use the child seatbelt since buying the secondhand car, 5 months ago! I can't thank them enough for being so thorough, and finally finding the missing attachment. Thank you again, Simon and Lizzy, you are both amazing

Negative experience: Trying too book Uber inspection for my car . There is no slot available for this year. Do they have the capacity to run this operation or not? Is it reasonable waiting period for a service.
Hi md ohedul islam, To best manage workshop resources, timeslots for Uber vehicle inspections are only opened a few weeks in advance. There has been an increased demand over the coming weeks, and as such all available spots for September have been booked out at our Launceston location. Bookings will be opening for the month of October soon. Fantastic experience: John was very friendly and most experienced in his work which was a very involved procedure.
Positive experience: RACT didn't get a 5star review, because after a minor car park collision, I organised CCTV footage to demonstrate that I was stationary and was backed into, while I was continuously sounding my horn ( saw the car backing up). The other driver admitted full liability. The company providing the footage, kept it for approx 3mths, then understandably deleted it. As a result I had to pay ract $500 excess, because their insurance arm neglected to obtain a copy of the CCTV footage. Other than that I believe, their other services are more proficient. So, only 4 stars.

Negative experience: Waiting time was ridiculous. Wanted to do an insurance claim and was told to do it over the phone at the centre and there was that much background noise i barely hear the other end of the phone. thus the reason going to the centre i dont like being on the telephone

Negative experience: I was harassed by an ract driver, driving erratically in Launceston's Wellington st at 8.45 Saturday morning. They sped up behind me, obviously trying to bully me into getting out of their way. To about a car length behind, whereupon they had to brake hard to avoid hitting me. After swerving into an adjacent lane, they threateningly crossed about 30 cm back into my lane as they passed. Perhaps some defensive driver training is in order.

Negative experience: Terrible experience! Had a claim with them for a car repair and the repair shop held my car for 6 weeks to make a simple repair. They were absolutely useless every time I tried to follow up for an update. A simple car repair should not take 6 weeks and you guys need to reevaluate who you partner with for your repair jobs.

Negative experience: Not good. I tried to ring them. After 38min I was given option to leave my number for call back. 10 min later I get a call back only to be put on hold again. I gave up to battle it another day.

Fantastic experience: Matt Paine was extremely helpful, flexible and friendly. Travelling with an elderly parent for medical reasons it was great knowing that Matt was in our corner if needed and the priority seating and wheelchair access he organised before we left was an absolute godsend!!!

Negative experience: If you want to pay premiums without service then look no further. It might work for those that don't want to login into a portal to check payments, change details as their online system they can't even help me login into. Despite multiple calls and emails to various members of their organisation trying to placate my complaint then fix my issue of being able to easily login into their online system or reset my password online. Hopefully the team members over the last 12 months that tried to pass the buck to member relations, IT or another department might stand up and be accountable one day. Last year I even email the CEO and this got the chief customer relationship person on the phone the next day but not the actual issue fixed. So if you want words and not actions. As a customer with 9 different insurance policies it now worries me if I need to make a complain if they will able to manage that if the can't get me logged in. Hopefully the team of Saif, Lara Howard, Kate, Julie Genge might be about to get support from management to actually be empowered to fix simple long standing member concerns. Otherwise @Mark Mugnaioni the next step in trying to get a member based organisation addressing member concerns is to feedback to individual board members as if simple member basics can't be fixed over several years. Then if it's not a member orgnisation you're running what are you as I think I will be better off moving to a for profit insurer seeing it's lost its way with being Tasmanian and member focused at the same time.
Negative experience: Worst people, first never asked for anything untill i was paying money. When i claimed some damage they realized that claim can be declined on information basis. Now not even returning money back nor giving claim. DODGY PEOPLE. never go with ract in my opinion. And yes i was paying 80$ a month for 2000$ car insurance.

Negative experience: 23/11/21. Very rude customer service. Just asking for an indicative quote price but serve me in a very rude manner, forcing me, can’t explain well when I asked questions and just saying it is policy etc. She was probably thinking I am not necessary will buy the insurance. Unbelievable RACT hire someone like her. Unsure if myself as a Tasmanian should support a Tasmanian company if being treated like this. But whatever, I need to take care myself and looking for interstate insurance that will take care of me

Negative experience: I took out road side assistance at the start of May, I did not receive anything in the post. I called to follow up and was told the cards can take up the 5 weeks to come. I waited and still nothing so I called again, we then realised they had sent it to a different address which sounded similar to my street name. This was fixed and a new card was issued. I still have not received this card and was told nothing they could do even though this was no fault of my own. I am very disappointed in the service I have received and the lack of care around the situation.

Negative experience: This is for RACT Hobart, I had a bad experienced with RACT roadside assist, I've been with RACT for more than 10 years for my car insurances and roadside assist, unfortunately one morning my wife driving the car in dropping the kids to school and broke down, I rang RACT roadside assist to check for the car and didn't get any help. It's just because my membership was on my name they didn't at least attend to my wife who needs most help at that time! Really frustrated and angry how they treated me. Hopefully you won't experienced that nightmare with them. I never get RACT insurance ever again! Goodluck!!!

Fantastic experience: Had need to call roadside assist whilst in Hobart yesterday. Happy cheerful operator lead to prompt visit by the mechanic who sorted the problem then waited while I did a test drive. Always have great service from a locally based insurance company.

Fantastic experience: Last week I left Launceston to spend a week travelling in my new campervan to St Helens and surrounding areas. On my 3 rd day in I awoke to starting problems with my vehicle. I was serviced by Dale from St Helens. I found the service provided by him to be out standing. He communicated with me 100% of the way and thankfully got me mobile again. I feel he went above and beyond the call of duty. As I am a woman travelling alone and of pensioner age, unfamiliar with my locations and providers, he took it upon himself to make sure that I was at all times safe, and getting all the right advice and services required to get me on my way again. I am very greatful for the outstanding service I was given and cannot sing his and RACT PRAISES enough. Thankyou to Dale from St Helens RACT. I regained my faith in humanity on that trip as if I hadn’t had the luxury of being a member my trip would’ve been an absolute nightmare, however instead I had an exceptional trip. Fantastic experience: Awsome service! Didnt get the guys name, but he put in extra effort and got it started.
Negative experience: I have been insured with RACT insurance for over thirty years, during the last week I have had to contact RACT insurance over a claim for my elderly farther in law and have been given incorrect information and give a the complete run around. I am very disappointed and disgusted in the help provided or lack should I say lack of help. I will now be changing my own insurance to another company who will provide better service. my advice keep away from RACT insurance.
Negative experience: DO NOT have driving lessons with Paul Drummond from the ract in Launceston! He is horrible! He's condescending, miserable, patronising and will criticise you for just a tiny mistake you make. He doesn't care about his students, all he cares about is the money. He was so horrible to me whilst I was driving and made me cry..he just shouted at me "you can't get angry or upset when you're driving!". He is a piece of work.
Negative experience: The ract guy for Georgetown is a rude arrogant piece of work, pray you do not ever need this poor excuse for a humans help with anything Deplorable service, disgusting manners and the foul language is shocking
