Fantastic experience: Great helpful staff to assist with booking

Negative experience: Called about a package deal that was offered to book our first family holiday and spoke on the phone with the agent. She sent a link for booking which I followed and chose the dates as they were not fully set in stone. Fast forward to checking in to the hotel only to be told no of our package deal has been included which is over $350 worth of food plus other things. Tried to contact them only to be met with we will escalate to the manager and after 3 days still have no resolve. Absolutely terrible customer service and given we booked with an agent she knew we wanted the package deal and never once contacted us it. Very disappointing as we have had to cut our holiday short due to these inclusions not being received and how much extra money everything is costing.

Negative experience: So daydream nice island BUT the whole package was so expensive for what we received,,,staff absolutely terrible mostly backpackers with attitude,, no team leaders/managers in charge, hot breakfast was cold,, pissed groups around the pool swearing and no one stopping them.. food was disgusting except for the pizza’s.5 day stay never again..0hh and spa at pool out of order Felt sorry for the girl behind the pool bar, she was under so much pressure I felt like helping her, while other staff taking it easy…

Negative experience: Do not fall in the trap of this travel agent, who abuse hidden terms and conditions to make money rather than genuine try to help you, What they tell you on phone conversation is totally different to their written terms and conditions, and they don’t care when you tell them to review the recorded conversation, This is not a genuine business and very soon will be followed by ACCC,

Negative experience: I called earlier today to discuss a booking and reason as to why the booking had increased by $155, like any person would questions this the lady then decided to school me on how the world operates then proceeded to hang up on. Frustrated and still not having an answer to my question I called back and ask to speak to someone that was going to speak to me respectfully because what's wrong in asking a questions or questioning something if it doesn't seem right. The lady then kept talking over me as I was trying to explain my questions and stated why can't I call and asked a question about a booking it was a legitimate question and I don't appreciate being hung up on (it seems like I caught them in the scam) again the lady proceeded to yell and shout and speak over the top and did let me explain my point and then said before hanging up again "we're not helping you haha" like a 5 years old kid. I'd definitely be cautious of the interactions with this company and the legitimacy of their business

Fantastic experience: I have been a customer of Discover Queensland for 7 years now and always book my QLD trips through them. They are fantastic to deal with and I have complete faith that I am getting the best deal. My recent booking was with Tulane and she was brilliant in understanding the complexities of booking a family holiday when you have 3 boys with large age gaps. Her knowledge and experience helped guide me to one of the many options she provided to suit my needs. Thank you Discover Queensland

Fantastic experience: I highly recommend you use this organisation to book your holidays with. Every person I spoke to was delightful and extremely helpful. We had an awesome week on the Gold Coast with wonderful accommodation. The grandkids loved their rooms and the swimming pools at both places. I had originally tried to book the accommodation myself and frustratingly failed. These guys are 'heaven on a stick' and I will use them from now on. Thank you heaps.

Fantastic experience: I emailed an enquiry regarding accommodation in Brisbane, Sunshine Coast or anywhere near by. Being unfamiliar with the area, I hoped for some suggestions about where to go and what was family friendly. Tara rang me and was super helpful! Gave me amazing deals at beautiful accommodation in both Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast. She gave me ideas on what to do while we’re there. Took into account my family’s needs and the kids ages, picked brilliant places for us to stay and we had it all organized in under an hour! Awesome, brilliant, thank you. Wouldn’t book a holiday any other way.

Fantastic experience: Wonderful! When my Air bnb booked for an approaching peak period cancelled unexpectedly, the amazing staff member at DQ managed to find me a fantastic alternative. She responded promptly, gave me options that met my criteria, and booked it in quickly, at a better rate than I could have got without her. A highly recommended service.

Negative experience: the customer service comes across as friendly but they are just about hitting targets and taking peoples money. I got lied to about a security bond that was required when the lady i booked through Mel told me they didnt require a bond this was before i paid and booked . Due to this i was unable to check in. and i have tried to call back several times i have been hung up on everytime.

Fantastic experience: What an amazing service! Referred by another very satisfied customer, we too were able to find a really nice apartment to suit our family's need at a hard to believe price. Negative experience: COVID Buyer beware!!!! If for any reason your trip has to be cancelled due to border closures, do not expect a full refund from this agency!!!!!! In these uncertain times you cannot operate a travel agency without offering a refund for cancelled trips due to border closures but Discover Queensland are refusing to give full refunds. All other bookings received a full refund except them. Don't take the chance.

Negative experience: Booked on school holidays, paid extra $100 per night. We moved dates to non school holidays as circumstances changed plus coronavirus. Guess what, no credit for $100 each night as prices went up. So dissappointing, not willing to help at all.

Negative experience: Had to pay $39 for COVID guarantee. Why should I have to pay to change my holiday plans due to a world wide epidemic? Originally purchased a Mantra deal 12 months ago, was issued a credit after a big argument when COVID happened, now I am being told rates have gone up and I cannot retrieve the deal!!!! :-(

Negative experience: Discover Queensland - shame on you. I booked accommodation for a disabled person and myself. I requested many times that the room had to be fully wheelchair accessible and asked if they understood what I meant which I fully explained. Firstly the booking was made for the wrong week and luckily both of us could change as I was sick of the dealings I was having with DQ. We arrived at the resort and were treated like royalty. Thank you. Went to the room - it was a regular room - which was beautiful by the way. Not accessible for a wheelchair at all with not one ramp for my friend to move around herself. No access to the balcony overlooking the ocean not even the independence to move around the apartment by herself with lips and drops onto and off tiles from carpeted areas. The poor woman couldn’t even have a shower. It was difficult enough to hoist her. Being on a disability pension it took her a long time to save for this trip and I’m saddened for her. The staff at the resort advised us that they didn’t have any disabled rooms but helped us immensely. Thank you so much Pam (Beach Haven Resort Broadbeach). Be proud of your staff. Never again will I seek the help of Discover Queensland

Negative experience: I booked 2 nights with Discover Queensland and carefully read the book amendments/cancellations section. I later had to change our dates and called to do this. I was informed there are different conditions much further down in the terms and conditions list for 'flash sales' and they cannot be changed or amended. Therefore we have lost our money on the 2 nights away.

Negative experience: Can’t believe a travel agent from Discover Queensland whom answered my call actually advise me to ring the hotels/resorts myself to find answers to my questions about the special offers they have. Then ring her back to let her know which one would accommodate our needs so she can book it for me. In this online and social media led world, if the service provider can’t be bothered to provide the service, we don’t really need travel agents any longer. We are more than capable at sending emails and making calls directly to all the accommodation providers ourselves to find answers. And I can see that I’m not the only one who is not happy with Discover Queensland. Would highly recommend any future customer to by pass Discover Queensland and book any specials yourselves.

Negative experience: Awful customer service today, trying to book hotel dates in Broadbeach, QLD. for June-July. We were told few if any hotels book for only 2 nights, only a 7+ night booking was available. When my wife commented that we had previously booked short stays with the Meriton Apartments in the past, the operator simply disconnected the call. This is unacceptable for a tourist service and we won't be using the service again and we be recommending friends or family do the same! We did contact DQ later to lodge a complaint and were told they would trace the call and speak with the agent.
