Negative experience: I booked an appointment for the 4 day diving class in Cairns. I was ill the whole time ill before that and updated through emails happy travels and told them I am to sick for taking place at my class. They didn't replied. I couldn't take place at the beginning of the class and they made me responsible fot that. I don't see any money again or don't have any diving license. It's a pity that you always have to call happy travels instead of e-mal communication. My adviser was also only advising me to the support mail, which is not available all the time.

Negative experience: Don‘t let yourself get pressured into leaving a deposit for your travel. As soon as you want to change your dates and transfer your deposit it‘s not possible anymore and you loose all your money.

Fantastic experience: I only walked in for some information on the east coast, as I was struggling with it (so busy, so much to see, already booked out for seemingly months). Ended up staying for hours to walk out with an entire month of accommodations, transportation and activities planned, and nothing left to worry about for that entire period. The guys were incredibly nice and accommodating, without being pushy. It was all up to me what I wanted to prioritize, and they gave honest advise on whether hostels and activities were worth the price/effort. They really took their time to walk me through everything and answer all the questions I had, so I could feel secure in my decisions. Positive experience: We booked a 4 WD for Tasmania by Greta for a great price! When we arrived at the depo to pick up the car, the owner told us that happy travels did a mistake and he wanted give us a really small car. Our agent, Greta, was a huge help and gave us some major discounts, which in turn leaves more room for a beer or two. The breakfast served here, which is included if you book a stay at one of happy travels partner hostels in kings cross, is plentiful. All in all, very friendly and helpful staff.

Fantastic experience: I have had a great experience with Happy Travels. Through the office in Kings Cross I booked a range of tours along the East Coast and the outback. The one I personally enjoyed the most was the Outback (Alice Springs, Uluru, King's Canyon, organized by Mulgas tours). The woman at Happy Travels who helped me booking all of my tours and schedules was Steffi Buckley. She was competent, insightful and involved. She seemed to really care about me as a client, and enthusiastically thought along with me to figure out the route and activities that suited my preferences the most. In addition, when I was travelling, she responded quickly to e-mails/phonecalls, and was always ready to help me out when I had questions. Thanks to her professionalism and care, as well as that of her colleagues, I had a wonderful 6-week route in Australia, and I thus would recommend Happy Travels Kings Cross to all backpackers who hope for a great East Coast experience.
