Fantastic experience: What a great adventure! From first enquiry to hotel drop off at the end of trip communication and organisation were excellent. I’ve used several walking companies in Tasmania including some very high end ones. None of them came close to Tasmanian Expeditions. The eco camp was quirky and comfortable. Importantly, the effort taken to minimise our footprint, in such an exceptional place, was very evident. It added to the experience. The food was plentiful, wholesome and really tasty. a real step up on usual camping food! Lastly, there isn’t enough superlatives to describe our guides commitment to ensuring we had a wonderful trip, passion for their work & desire to share their knowledge. Jess, Gracie & Liam are a true stars!

Fantastic experience: The Overland was my first trek with full pack. Along with being a senior, wearing hearing implants and two new knees, I was a bit anxious in the lead up. I loved every minute notwithstanding the physical and mental challenges in all the conditions Tassie can serve up. Our guides were brilliant - always supportive and pretty good in culinary skills. If you prepare, go for it - don't regret it when it's too late to consider.

Fantastic experience: I had the most incredible time away with Tas Ex doing the overland track, considerably more fun than If id completed the walk not in a group. The guides ( Natti, Ollie and Dan) were knowledgeable, kind and very considerate. The whole team made sure to accommodate for dietary requirements. The gear included in the package was of great quality.

Fantastic experience: Flinders Island April/May 2024 - Great itinerary which covered different regions of this beautiful island, showcasing spectacular scenery from 360 degree mountain views to unique rock formations and pristine beaches along the stunning coastline. We had an excellent team of 3 experienced guides who were knowledgeable, supportive and entertaining as well as being superb cooks. The meals were fantastic and the snacks plentiful. The campsite was comfortable and was tucked away in a lovely bush setting with beach access. This was my first trip with Tasmanian Expeditions and I would highly recommend them to anyone as they provided an overall wonderful experience.

Fantastic experience: This part of the world is stunning and the trip was wonderful. It was well organised and there was good communication before and during the trip. The guides were particularly flexible and catered for all levels of fitness and made alternative plans that were safe for everyone. The participants all got on well together and supported each other.

Fantastic experience: Maria Island, Feb 2024. Great walks, great food and great company. We just loved this trip! Our guides Chris & Shana were easy company, very attentive, and excellent cooks too. The camps were great. They are tucked away out of general view, and if you didn't know where to look, you wouldn't know they were there. So much wildlife to see (bring binoculars and you won't be disappointed) and so many fabulous beaches; we swam every day.

Fantastic experience: I recently did the Tarkine Explorer. A well-paced and varied trip with plenty of opportunities to engage with nature. Stunning scenery and knowledgeable guides who were also very handy chefs. Highly recommend this trip!

Fantastic experience: This trip was fantastic. The huts were very comfortable. The food was plentiful and delicious. Our guides were very knowledgeable and helpful. The walks each day were beautiful. I would recommend this trip to everyone who love to walk.

Fantastic experience: The Overland Track hike was one of the best walks I have done in Tasmania. Whilst the walks in the south west are are more challenging, the variety of landscapes on the overland is much more amazing. From the top of Mount Ossa to the old forests to the button grass plains the Overland has it all. We had two of the best guides who were a fountain of knowledge which really added to the overall experience. We’re going back with Tasmanian Expeditions next year! I’d highly recommend these guys.

Fantastic experience: I recently went on the four day Walls of Jerusalem trek. The guides Jesse and Dan made the trip as easy as possible for us. They clearly explained what was happening each day, cooked delicious meals and were knowledgeable about the area and bushwalking in general. I couldn't recommend it enough, and I will be back!

Fantastic experience: My recent Tasmanian Expeditions Franklin River Rafting trip in February was an enjoyable experience that exceeded expectations. I joined as much for the scenery and the river's history as for the rafting and all didn't disappoint. Leon, Nick & Grace- TE's 3 rafting guides were exceptional, both on and off the river.

Fantastic experience: These folk know Tassie! Our guides lead us hiking through some stunning sites in the Tarkine Wilderness area. Their love and enthusiasm for the sights, smells, tastes, feels and sounds of this precious area gave us rare insights and appreciation for how very special is the Tarkine. Our wilderness accommodation was great and the various operators warm and welcoming. Topped off by some terrific meals, this grateful vegan had the time of her life!

Fantastic experience: It was an epic hike made even more awesome with our guides from Tasmanian Walking Company and to be able to enjoy the comforts of the huts at the end of each day.

Fantastic experience: My nephew and I both loved the Freycinet Experience Walk in December 2023. The architecturally designed lodges were comfortable, generously spacious and cosy with a fireplace, shower room, separate room for an indulgent bath and the most discrete and effective environmentally-friendly toilets I have ever come across. With 8 guests I felt we were extremely well cared for by our 2 guides – Ella and Emma plus our 2 lodge hosts – Filippo and Karl. It was my nephew’s first walking tour holiday plus he has severe dietary restrictions. We could not be happier with the care that the team took to ensure that my nephew felt safe and supported. I have experienced walking tour holidays in various countries and this was my third in Australia. It set the benchmark for how exceptionally well organised an Australian walking tour holiday can be. I have my 2024 Australian walking tour holiday booked with the same company and I know it will be glorious. The Freycinet Experience Walk is suitable for all ages and could be a wonderfully bonding getaway for a group. I recommend it to anyone who wants to switch off immersed in nature with the comfort of beautifully prepared meals accompanied by Tasmania’s sensational beers and wines served from the heart by a team committed to your relaxation and comfort.

Fantastic experience: Recently returned from the Overland track expedition with my Dad. Can’t recommend Tassie Expeditions enough! Our tour guides Ed and Dan were both amazing! They were so knowledgeable, caring, patient (especially with my Dad who is a bit older) and ensured that we had the best experience possible. I will always look back on my experience with such fond memories

Fantastic experience: I recently completed this walk with Tasmania Expeditions. While I was not an experienced walker the team and walk guides made this a most enjoyable and trouble free experience. Accomodation was basic (bunks) but comfortable, clean and warm with hot water showers and fantastic meals cooked for the tour group. The guides are amazing carrying heavy packs, maintaining cheerfulness, providing commentary and then catering for meals. Altogether a great trip although fitness is a key.

Positive experience: What a fantastic experience on Maria Island. I was concerned initially about whether I would struggle with the distances to be walked… but I didn’t at all (it certainly helped to be pack free). The hike gave me a great sense of achievement and I loved sharing each day with the other very interesting hikers who also offered encouragement and support as I travelled alone. The guides Marcella and Ella were amazing with their knowledge and I am so pleased that I chose this walk as my very first. Thanks for the great memories.

Fantastic experience: Our experience exceeded our expectation and we thoroughly enjoyed the 6 day trek. Our guides Stac and Andy were passionate about the environment and history of the Overland Track and shared their knowledge and enriched our experience. They produced tasty meals and snacks and were expert guides and story tellers. We were fortunate to have incredible weather and a great group of people that shared such a wonderful week together. Fantastic experience: I just came back from the Tassie cycling, kayaking and walking tour and had a fantastic time. Our guides Nigel and Jessie really looked after our group, including modifying the itinerary to cater for some poor weather days and varying fitness levels across the group. I was thrilled by the food which catered sensationally for me as someone with Coeliac disease who needs a GF diet, lots of salads and fresh food, GF muesli bars etc (I took home all the snacks and stash I brought with me). Maria Island was a highlight with all the walking, animals and history. Highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: They were incredibly responsive when booking the trip and answered any questions we had. Our guides had thought of everything and were full of knowledge and experience. We had an amazing group of people and have made some wonderful new friends. The trek was brilliantly organized, and the 2 guides that led our group were so impressive, sharing their knowledge and experience. Fantastic experience: I booked with Tasmanian expeditions for the overland track and...WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE, I'm so glad I had a great group, we were only 4 so 6 with our guides. We had the best guides ever, Oscar and Morgan :) They share with us their energies, so many knowledges about the plants, the fauna and the animals. They're cooked as a real chef, and feed us so well. I was charming by the way their loved there job, the way they were so professional even when our plan was disturb ^^' The accommodation was good, the way they inform us before and during the trip is great, so no surprise (except this beautiful nature), you ready to go. We had all the equipment necessary for this trip, not to much, just what we need.The weather at this time was great (Beginning Feb) I recommend Tasmanian expeditions 100% and more this two beautiful guides. Fantastic experience: 9 days off grid in spectacular surroundings - trip of a lifetime - our guides Esther ,Tim & Taylor were first class ensuring we safely navigated the mighty Franklin River. Food prepared by our guides was terrific and sleeping under the stars capped off a great adventure. We didn't come across anybody or traces of civilisation on our 9 day journey down the river and got to see a platypus close up in the wild - how good!

Fantastic experience: I walked the South Coast Track with two amazing guides, Bel and Oscar, without who I would not have completed this amazingly beautiful and difficult walk Thank you Tas Ex.

Positive experience: We recently hiked the south coast track as part of a Tasmanian Expedition group and enjoyed the whole experience. The positives are Tas Ex guides are fantastic, they go above and beyond to make sure the hike goes as smoothly as it can. Tas Ex makes the process so easy in that they organise all the travel requirements for the hike (drop off and pick-up) plus food drops. They are a professional outfit and I have no hesitation in recommending them .

Fantastic experience: An amazing experience! Just completed the Overland Track with this company and I could not recommend more. From booking to the actual hike, everything was seamless. Linda was great with helping me get onto and expedition and Alana was great about answering any and all questions about gear and what to expect during the hike. Stacks and Jason were amazing guides, they were very friendly and knowledgable, making the while trip so much more fun. Gear was great and food was so good after long hiking days.

Fantastic experience: My son Brendan and I hiked the Overland Track in November 2022. The support of Tasmanian Expeditions was superb from start to finish. Our two guides Madeleine and Jason were two of the finest human beings we have ever met. They were expert bush-walkers, but also extremely well-versed on Tasmanian flora & fauna and Indigenous history. They were empathetic and inspiring leaders who kept our diverse group of nine hikers highly motivated, happy, confident and well-fed through-out our epic journey. This included sub-zero temperatures and heavy snow, as well as an impressively well-executed helicopter medivac of two hypothermic hikers from another group - our guides saved their lives! I very highly recommend Tasmanian Expeditions to those looking for a very professional, safe, and life-changing experience!

Positive experience: Joined a group to hike The Overland Track. Great service from Tasmanian Expeditions from the first contact until I was dropped off at my accommodation after the hike. Incredible experience made better by two fantastic guides. The equipment supplied was of good quality. The only negative was the food, not expecting 5 star food but while there was plenty the evening meals lacked taste (one meal I couldn’t eat) and in some cases sustenance, which you need while hiking. No salt or pepper (I would have taken some if I had of known) to try and add a bit of flavour. I would give the hike 5+ stars and the food 2 stars

Positive experience: The cradle mountain track is a must for all who love an adventure. It offers a great experience and beauty of Tasmania, from mountains, lakes and marsh lands. The Tasmanian Expedition showed just a small part of this but was done in a excelled way. I hope that a few maintenance rectifications and meal choices will make this track adventure even better.

Fantastic experience: While many choose to do The Overland Track solo and stay in huts, I feel I would have missed out on the extensive knowledge of our guides, Zoe and Oliver, who had endless pieces of information from history to flora and fauna. The scenery is spectacular with the track being challenging enough, but not unachievable. It was so good to have delicious hot meals and fresh produce for lunch. We were the envy of other hikers. The gear was high quality and the guides had lots of tips for this first time trekker, ensuring that I had a comfortable walk and a great sleep. It was such a fun and rewarding trip.

Fantastic experience: I completed this walk in April with guides Jesse and Ed. We had beautiful weather and a fabulous group. Our guides were knowledgable as well as fun and made us all feel comfortable. The scenery was spectacular, we saw only a few other people the whole trip and really enjoyed the solitude of this magnificent place.

Fantastic experience: I highly recommend Tasmanian Expeditions as they really looked after our tour group on a recent hike of The Overland Track. The guides were very informative and caring, giving us great advise even about what we should wear each day! The food was wonderful and all the equipment provided by the company was great. This is the second time I have trekked with this company and everything about both experiences was positive!

Fantastic experience: Overland Track 6 day thru hike...A trip to remember! Its a trip I will never stop talking about! It was adventurous, informative, magically beautiful and between Rachael, Laura (our guides from Tas Ex) and the personalities in our group we laughed all day and night! Someone was always cracking a joke! It was so much fun! So a mix of landscape, people and good positive vibes made this a trip to remember! The meals prepared by Rachael/Laura & Tasmania Expeditions were insanely delicious and nutritious for hike food! There was never a time where we went hungry with plenty of snacks and chocolates always on offer!

Fantastic experience: Not the first time I've booked with Tasmanian Expeditions and definitely won't be the last. I recently booked a Maria Island hiking trip with Tasmanian Expeditions. Apart from the location being stunning our guides were very knowledgeable and forthcoming with info. And the food was amazing!! The whole booking process was trouble free with no problems at all. And I was kept up to date with emails.

Fantastic experience: I recently completed The Walls of Jerusalem Circuit trek with Tasmanian Expeditions.This was a5night, 6 day undertaking, which I can heartily recommend to anyone wanting to experience a true wilderness walk. It was both strenuous and very rewarding. Camping at remote and beautiful lakeside spots for the first three nights and realising that walking in with a full pack was the only way to get there made all the effort worthwhile. The Walls themselves are spectacular and the walks therein exhilarating. Go prepared for some tough walking but GO!!!

Fantastic experience: Great adventure, looked after brilliantly by our three guides Shaun, Grace and Ben. Food amazing which of course went with the unforgettable scenery. If you want a real adventure in the wilderness then go with Tasmanian Expeditions down the Franklin. And personally I would definitely include the option of climbing Frenchman’s Cap which was a real highlight.

Fantastic experience: We had an amazing trip on the Maria Island walk. The bush, beaches and view from the island are spectacular, this was coupled with great local food and wines all freshly cooked by our fantastic guides. What a 4 day adventure this was

Fantastic experience: I recently did the 6 day Overland Track with Tasmanian Expeditions and would highly recommend their tours. The two guides, Pete and Dan, were incredibly knowledgeable, professional and great to have a laugh with. The supplied gear was top notch and the provided food was always delicious. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and I would travel with them again.

Fantastic experience: Had an amazing tour with TAS Ex on the Overland Track over Dec. We were a little unsure of a group hike, but Jess and Laura were amazing! Very knowledgeable of the track and countryside, great group co ordination, and just really good people to guide us and share 6 days hiking with. Did I mention the food? Fresh greens, abundant meals and snacks, varied, perfectly cooked, with lots of treats. Our meals were the envy of all other hikers. Highly recommended tour with this operator!!

Fantastic experience: I highly recommend the World Expedition Franklin River Rafting expedition in the wilderness area of Tasmania Australia for those prepared to step outside their comfort zone . The experience varies depending on the variable weather of Tasmania. The guides are experienced professionals who work to ensure a safe experience. . There are few comforts while the food is bountiful and satisfying.. I was fortunate to have a great crew of fellow adventurers. I am 73 so do not be daunted by ageism. The Franklin shutes are graded up to a world class three. . .A lower volume will require more portage ie carrying the rafts

Fantastic experience: A mate and I did the Overland Track with Tas Ex in October 2021. It was a brilliant experience. Great service, helpful advice, and awesome gear. Those on the track with us said we had the best meals of anyone. Highly recommend these guys!

Fantastic experience: I very much enjoyed my trip with Tasmanian Expeditions on the South Coast Track in 2019. The guides were excellent, the food awesome, and I had a blast despite it being a challenging walk. Highly recommended.

Fantastic experience: Fun day out with Ian and Harry on the Ben Lomond descent, mountain bike experience! Amazing views along the ride and definitely a must do when in Tasmania. Morning tea and lunch provided was also absolutely delicious!

Fantastic experience: Touring the east coast of Tasmania on a bicycle is fantastic. Our stay on Maria Island was incredible and added to an already memorable experience all the way down the coast. If you are prepared to climb the first couple days, manage the Tasmanian traffic for a week and provide basic equipment maintenance, the reward is there for the taking and we did. We have positive and wonderful memories that will stay with us. The folks at Tasmanian Expeditions set us up for success. We are impressed with their can do attitude and immediate response to any of our questions and requests. The trip went off like clockwork.

Fantastic experience: Tasmanian Expeditions offer great hiking trips to see the great outdoors and wilderness in Tasmania. I've joined them a few times most recently last year for the Walls of Jerusalem Circuit trek and would highly recommend them - great friendly staff that are very knowledgable of the hikes while providing great meals while on the trails.

Positive experience: I thoroughly enjoyed my time in Tasmania and can't praise the tour guides highly enough. They were friendly and knowledgeable and worked well together. I was lucky enough to go with quite a small group of 5 so the ratio of 2 guides to 5 clients was excellent value. The meals and snacks were great and the scenery very beautiful although I was a little disconcerted by all the board walks which made me feel I was in a park rather than a wilderness area. Even in January the temperature dropped down to 2 degrees so the gear inspection prior to leaving was critical. I would happily recommend Tas Expeditions given my experience.

Fantastic experience: South Coast Track; BEST. THING. TO. DO. EVER. I relished in the disconnection from my regular lifestyle and the simplicity of our existence while travelling the track. Physically, I found climbing the Ironbounds punishing but satisfying. I loved the variety of terrain, methods of travel and activity eg walking, climbing, mud sliding, crawling, flying, boating, swimming. Nom and Masd were super! They were both passionate about their role, full of local (+ regional + national) knowledge and were supportive and encouraging. We were well fed and safe (special mention to the superb cooking ability of these two!!!) plus allowed to explore the track at our own pace. Could not recommend these two guides more highly or the bonds formed with my fellow trekkers. Thank you all round.

Fantastic experience: The south coast track with Tasmanian expeditions was an amazing wilderness adventure! Great guides, delicious food and lots of great advice helped make this a memorable and fantastic multi day hike.

Fantastic experience: The South Coast Track is definitely one of the great hikes in Australia and also one of the toughest. However, by joining the Tasmanian Expeditions guided hike, I was in good hands from the time I made the booking till we returned to Hobart. The guides were excellent, ensuring our well being at all times. They were also great sources of knowledge on the local environment. I would definitely recommend Tasmanian Expeditions for guided hikes and look forward to joining them for one of their other hikes in the near future.

Fantastic experience: The Walls of Jerusalem is a beautiful hike in alpine Tasmania. Whilst in the high country one explores a fairy land environment surrounded by tall cliffs and rugged snow capped mountains. The scenery is truly amazing. The 3 guides on our trip did a fabulous job - excellent meals, tramping off the beaten track to find a hermit's hut or finding the best place on the lakes to go swimming in the ice cool waters. This is a trip for all. It is not as demanding as the SW track or as crowded as the Overland Track. It is highly recommended to those that love the great outdoors

Fantastic experience: I joined Tasmanian Expeditions for a self-guided tour to the Overland Track. The gears were very nice and tolerable to bad weathers (you must experience rainy days in your 6-day walk!). Even the food provided tasted good. We came across heavy rain on our last day of the tour and were shivering when walking towards the destination check point. It was grateful that Holly was already waiting at the destination when we arrived and drove us a long way back to Launceston. I would not hesitate and recommend Tasmanian Expeditions to people who would like to walk the Overland Track (they have guided and self-guided tours for just renting the gears). Looking forward to the next tour with Tasmanian Expeditions!
