Our comment from TraTraTravel about Global Work & Travel Australia:

Global Work & Travel Australia is dedicated to making your travel experiences unforgettable. With a strong team that is both friendly and professional, they focus on providing exceptional support from the moment you contact them until you return home. Customers have praised their thoroughness in pre-departure preparation, highlighting how helpful they are in setting up necessary arrangements such as flights, job placements, and accommodations.

Many travelers report that their coordinators have been instrumental in alleviating stress and anxiety associated with moving to a new country. Their comprehensive orientations help to familiarize you with your new environment, assisting you in navigating the complexities of living abroad. The company has received numerous accolades for the quality of their service, particularly from first-time travelers feeling overwhelmed by the process.

However, it’s important to acknowledge that some customers have expressed concerns about high pressure sales tactics and the cost of their services, noting that there may be more affordable options available if you choose to plan independently. A few reviews mentioned disappointing communication regarding job placements and accommodations once reaching the destination, including instances where clients felt unsupported in their job searches.

In summary, while Global Work & Travel Australia has garnered a solid reputation for its thorough service and customer support, potential travelers should do their research and weigh their options to ensure that it meets their needs and budget preferences.

Fantastic experience: For my first long-term international solo trip, Global Work & Travel has been such a reassuring asset that provided excellent support throughout the entire travel process. Without them, I would've hesitated at every step while planning my trip, questioning whether I checked every box I would need to or found the most suitable options. Their coordinators really streamlined the entire thing and set me up for success! Not only did they ensure that I followed a good time-frame to acquire all the necessary documentation, they would even arrange some of the transactions on my behalf after going over the service details and price with me, much of which I would have been poorly informed on otherwise. If you would prefer to obtain any of these things yourself, then they are more than willing to work with you. For example, you may want to secure a job and a place to stay way ahead of finalizing your trip as it was a bit nerve-racking having to wait until I was only a couple weeks out from my departure before they set up an interview. However, for me the most intimidating aspect of living abroad for an extended period is finding a reliable source of income. So I really appreciated how they work as liaisons for various businesses, though of course they can't work miracles as you'll still have to compete with other applicants. Many employers are looking to hire rather quickly and expect you to already have all that's required for you to begin working including your visa, bank account, and tax number. So GW&T gives you the best chance of landing a gig by ensuring you've covered all your bases, that you apply to opportunities relative to your experience and to companies that are familiar with hiring foreigners, and do so all on a timeline that's feasible for them to meet their workforce demands. Having put my complete trust in GW&T, it all worked out as they helped me find a real sweet position that fit my interests and came with accommodations! The initial hostel arrangement for when I first landed was also great and very convenient! They chose a clean, reputable place in a prime location and booked it alongside plenty of other travelers using their program so it was easy to make a lot of friends. Now that I've been through the planning procedure once myself, I could likely book another trip of this duration again on my own, but all the resources they provided and activities included were well worth it! I was able to learn about the culture and get a taste of what it has to offer while engaging in enjoyable experiences I likely wouldn't have bothered to organize personally. Although I can't guarantee you'll get as much as I did out of their services, I would definitely recommend them and would certainly work with them again myself!

Positive experience: My travel concierge Jack was very helpful and informative throughout the whole process. I went into this not knowing anything about what was required for a working holiday and now feel very prepared. The only downside I feel, was being contacted daily and I am usually at work for long days, so felt that the calls were too frequent.

Negative experience: I would not recommend this company to anyone. Very slick sales and marketing strategy. If it sounds to good to be true, don't do it! No back-up or support when I needed it. Cost me a lot of money. Caused me a lot of grief. Be very careful here, I learnt the hard way

Global Work & Travel Australia

Hi Brenton, Thank you for sharing your experience. We're sorry to hear that you feel this way, as we strive to support our travellers throughout their journey. Negative experience: They were awful to work with the commutation was next to nothing and are meant to be your contact in your country and when I went to mine and said I was struggling with the move and needed a bit of help she did absolutely nothing. It’s over priced and you are better to do it yourself

Negative experience: THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM AND NEEDS TO BE SHUT DOWN!!!! Please do NOT make the same mistake as I did! I gave them $8500 dollars to study, work and live in Spain for 12 months teaching English…… It NEVER happened!!! Wish I had of read the reviews first, they have done this to so many people! Lucky I didn’t book my flights through them (they were being really pushy about that) or that would have been more of a loss :( Absolutely devastated!! Do not reply to this Global, Work and Travel you know what you did!!! You are disgusting people!

Global Work & Travel Australia

Hi Tamieka,Thank you for your feedback, and we’re genuinely sorry to hear you feel this way. However, I want to be clear that our company is not a scam and we have been successfully operating for over 16 years. We’ve helped thousands of people live, work, and study abroad, and if we were a scam, we certainly wouldn’t have the reputation we’ve built over that time.We have assisted many customers on this same trip all who have had a wonderful experience - it is one of our most popular trips. In your case, you didn't get the visa that was required for the trip. We provided you with all the necessary documents, instructions, and support to help you obtain this visa. Our team followed up with you multiple times to assist with the process, but you were unable to complete the application. All of our other customers in the same intake for this trip, were able to get their visa submitted correctly from the instructions we provided. We offered alternative solutions for you, such as a 90-day tourist visa, to ensure you could still get the most out of your trip – but unfortunately, you chose not to move forward with these options.Once again, we are sorry that you feel this way and we have remained available to try to assist you the best we can.Global Work & Travel

Negative experience: I found them extremely disorganised and thought their communication and support was far from satisfactory despite their EXPENSIVE fees. They told me to have my visa start at a date which was wrong, this meant that I had to wait longer than other participants before beginning my work. They wanted me to pay for the extra accommodation fees (until my visa started) and put me in an awful hostel where a strange man exposed himself to other participants who had been placed in the same debacle as me. I don't recommend using them. You can easily apply for all the jobs they offer a hand in securing, without global's blunders.

Michelle Oliver 10 months ago

Negative experience: Make sure you ask a lot of questions before you sign up. There is a high pressure sales team to get your money and only after that do you start to find out what is really involved. My daughter & I were blatantly lied to about the length of her Visa in Canada. If you are unsuccessful in securing a job this year, your visa lasts 2 years. You can just go then & you will be first in line for all the best jobs as you already have a valid visa. No she does not. She has a Port of Entry letter that expires in August as you.pushed her to apply.last year. Now no one will take her as her Port of entry letter will expire before the season starts in November! We were not even told this until her co-ordinator in Canada explained. He has been the only one upfront with correct information. You go to these companies to help you with an unfamiliar process. They should explain all aspects of said process. We expressed trepidation last year that she may be too late in the year to secure a job for the 2023/24 season. We were reassured, no just apply again for 2024/25. She got her POE in August. It was too late. And now it will be too late for this year. And if she applies again in August, it will again be too.late for next year! Your sales people need an open disclosure policy with all the information.

Global Work & Travel Australia

Hi Michelle,We are sorry to hear your feedback about your daughters trip.Unfortunately as we don't know who your daughter is, we are unable to provide feedback about your concerns. Can you please reach out to [email protected] with full contact details of your daughter so we can look into your concerns. With the visa to Canada you do have 12 months to enter Canada from when you get your Point of Entry. Unfortunately as mentioned, without knowing your daughters details we can't really comment any further.Once we hear from you, once of our team can reach out to your daughter directly to clarify any concerns. Thanks Global Work & Travel!

Negative experience: They are pushy people who will try to get the money out of you as quickly as possible you wont hear from them ever until your trip the scamming part is true as they didnt tell me the money you give them you cant get back they pushed me through the paper work preying on younger travelers as my self I would not recommend this company to anyone, use contiki or top deck tours. They are much more honest and upfront.

Fantastic experience: Global work and travel were super sweet and nice, made it easy for me to come here. Made it easy to start a new life here, was thorough on what there goal was for me such as finding a job for me, giving me a cellphone, showed me what to visit, finding a place for me to stay. They were awesome, highly recommend new travelers to start with this program.

Fantastic experience: Having researched The Global Work & Travel company online as well as some others. I had a great conversation with one of the companies representative on the phone. he was awesome to chat to, he had some great advice and clearly knew exactly the type of questions i was going to ask and also gave me information i didn't know i would have needed. I signed up and paid my deposit immediately and the process then happen quite quickly with sending relevant documents over. i was soon transferred to the lovely team in Australia which were a great help as a friend had decided to join me on the trip so they ensured we had jobs opportunities together. I would highly recommend this process to any one who wants are working holiday experience in Australia as the support is continues and i felt very safe and extremely well informed. Go Global!!!

Fantastic experience: we arranged this trip over a year ago and they have kept us informed over the whole waiting period. they arranged for us to have a two week layover in Thailand for only a few hundred which was not something we were planning but it was a great experience. we were set up with our phones, tax forms and banking as well as provided info on many job opportunities, tours and things to do while here. It has been a pleasant experience all round

Negative experience: Paid for a trip that got cancelled due to covid and they won’t give me my money back even though I couldn’t leave the country. Robbed me of 1.5K after I expressed I couldn’t afford it anymore.

Global Work & Travel Australia

Hi Brodie,We appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback regarding your experience with our company. We truly understand the frustration and disappointment you must have felt when your trip was canceled due to the unprecedented circumstances brought about by COVID-19.The impact of the pandemic on the travel industry was indeed challenging for both travellers and travel companies. We empathise with your situation and want to assure you that we did our utmost to provide our customers with various options during these difficult times. In response to your situation, we offered a range of alternatives to help ensure that our customers did not lose their money. We understand that the inability to leave Australia was a government decision and entirely out of our control. We aimed to accommodate our customers as best as we could, given the evolving situation and the restrictions imposed due to the pandemic. Rather than have your trip cancelled completely, we allowed all of our customers to push their trip back until they were able to travel without any additional fees to do so.If you would like to discuss your trip & options in more detail, please reach out to our team and we would be happy to assist.Global Work & Travel

Negative experience: I wrote the last review under Jessa Lively, in response to that I was told a team member reached out, no team me never reached out at all, no team member contacted me once I was in America, and no calls were returned. Every call that happened between myself and global work and travel I INSTIGATED. Not once did they ever call me except to get my initial $1500 deposit. In regards to applying online, that application process wasn’t the issue the issue was the communication between my travel coordinator and the agency in America, this is confirmed by my camp, and if you say there were issues online why am I only now being told, why not tell people when they start the trip or BEFORE THEY PAY. My trip coordinator was not available for any questions I had, as every time I asked a question she would have to get back to me, which she never did UNLESS I CALLED UP. You can even see in your call history all calls were instigated by myself. I was not checked up on before I left the country, I booked the flights on my own and no one once checked in to see if I had booked them or gotten to camp safely. You shouldn’t be surprised by my review seeing as I did bring up concerns over the phone and not once was anything taken care of. Tell people the truth

Global Work & Travel Australia

Hi Jessica,Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback about your trip. Our Manager did reach out to you in September, he also sent you a text. Negative experience: SCAM. PRESSURING MONEY-STEALERS. You can do everything they offer ON YOUR OWN. Horrible and disgusting cancellation policy. I cancelled my trip because of covid, and like many people, it's been a few years, life circumstances have changed and travelling is no longer an option for me. They offered me 50% of the $2300AUD as store credit... I DON'T WANT STORE CREDIT BECAUSE I CANNOT TRAVEL ANYMORE. The whole policy is inconsiderate and obtuse. They pressure you into paying for the trip up front and then refuse to give your money back. I've just been robbed. Disgusting horrible people.

Global Work & Travel Australia

Hi Nat,We are saddened to hear that this is how you feel about your recent experience with Global. If you can please reach out to our team with further details we will be able to clarify everything for you. As we are unable to find you in our system, we would like to address some of your concerns.First and foremost, we're truly sorry to hear that you had to cancel your trip due to changing life circumstances and the impact of COVID. We empathise with the challenges you've faced. We'd like to clarify that our offer of store credit is not meant to be inconsiderate but rather to provide you with the flexibility to plan a future trip when your circumstances allow! We have Terms & Conditions all of our customers read & sign when booking our trips that outline the fees in place to cancel your trip.If you have any further questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact our team, who are here to assist you.Global Work & Travel

Negative experience: Genuine scumbags. How this company is still legally running is beside me. After they took my $2000 I looked them up to find out a current affair has even looked into them for multiple reports of them not providing their service correctly or at all.

Global Work & Travel Australia

Hi,Unfortunately we are unable to find you in our system without your full name so we are unable to provide any assistance. We have been running legally for over 14 years and have assisted more than 71,000 customers on our trips! We also have over 11,000 reviews across a number of different platforms from customers who have enjoyed their experience with us! Please reach out to [email protected] with your full name and email address so we can look into your concerns further. Thanks,Global Work & Travel

Negative experience: Global work and travel are useless. Overpriced and lazy work ethic. If you do your own research you don’t need to pay their ridiculous prices. Poor experience, very disappointed of the service I received for the money I paid.

Amanda Tancredi 1 year ago

Negative experience: The Global Work and Travel company was the most difficult and unjust group of workers I have ever come across. Shortly after paying my deposit I was pressured by my trip coordinator through mutliple calls and emails that I must pay the remaining in full as "spots were running out". The t’s & c’s states this was to be paid at least 90 days before departure not 6 months before as I was advised. Unfortunately I paid in full a couple months prior to covid being announced. My trip advisor was strongly encouraging me to go in the peak of a pandemic and shortly after extensive and strict lockdowns. She advised me to “take cold and flu tablets” and that “Australia borders will be open”. From this point forward I attempted to liaise with the Global Work and Travel cancellation team to get a monetary refund as I no longer felt safe travelling with a company that was so willing to push me into travelling in a third world country during a pandemic. I was advised of only 50% refund not including my deposit or a credit note. After choosing 50% refund, communication with GWAT was extremely difficult. They would decline my calls and and redirected to me to an email address where I was only responded with the option of a credit note several times. I advised the company that they were breaching their own terms and conditions and an agreement we had in 2021 in writing that they will entitle me to refund and as a result I had no choice but to take this further with authorities. They responded by offering me less than a 50% refund. Less than a 50% refund not including a deposit for a trip and services that were unused by a customer is excessively high and unjustifiable especially given that it was out of my control and not to mention a complete breach of their terms and conditions. My experience over the last years for a cancellation has been unseemly difficult, negative and unfair. This company has made it very clear they are purely chasing funds

Global Work & Travel Australia

Hi Amanda,We pride ourselves on providing a premium service to all of our customers so it saddens us that you feel this way about your experience with us.We would have received your enquiry on our website requesting a call back for further information. We responded to your enquiry to go through all of the requirements and inclusions for the trip you were interested in. Once you were registered on your trip, your Trip Coordinator would have called and emailed you to check in to ensure you knew the next steps for your trip & be there to answer all of your questions. We are sorry if the team called too many times, but we do want to provide a premium level of customer service to all of our customers which involves regular contact. We have limited availability and strict deadlines for all of our trips, due to a number of things such as visa submission dates & cut offs, season variables and intake capacity for our offices. Our spots do fill up quickly and in advance. Your Trip Coordinator would have been simply trying to save you any disappointment from missing out on your trip as we have had this happen a number of times in the past with previous customers. Our trips come with ultimate flexibility and a lifetime guarantee so if you were unable to travel when you originally wanted to, we do allow you to push your trip back until the time is right. Unfortunately COVID affected many people's trips and it was a very challenging time for everyone. We would like to clarify that we did not breach any of our Terms & Conditions and you were offered a number of options, all in line with our Terms & Conditions. We went above and beyond for all of our customers who were unable to travel during COVID by offering either a trip credit to travel in the future or placing their trips on hold. This is far more than a number of other travel companies where a lot of customers were unable to travel or rebook and lost their funds completely. Most of our customers were very happy with the option and opted for either a trip credit or pushed their trips back and have since been able to travel now the world has opened up. There is a lot that happens behind the scenes after a booking is made with us, being a travel company there are a number of front loaded costs involved. We do make very clear in our booking terms and conditions the fees involved if you were to cancel your trip. None of our team would have declined your calls and our support team were in contact with you via email throughout the process of you cancelling your trip, letting you know what your options were.Once again, we are really sorry you feel this way and we do wish you all the best on your future travels.Global Work & Travel

Negative experience: Global work in travel is a lazy company that over prices their charge, I’ve been to camp America twice and while I can’t recommend the experience enough DO NOT go with this company, camp leaders will be better. I had to do all the work on my own and have no idea what I paid them for, I called everyday for months sometimes twice a day for follow ups on my papers and never once did THEY CONTACT ME, it was always myself calling even though I was told they’d call me back or we would schedule a time. I was told that my DS-2019 forms were in Australia but only to find out they had even been sent to America yet, I found this out as I contacted the American branch and they told me that my agency (global work and travel) were not returning calls or contacts. When I sent my passport to be shipped off to get my visa I was told the wrong place to pick it up and had to pay an extra hundred for shipping I already paid for, my passport came 3 days before I left, 3 DAYS and I wanted everything sorted 2 months atleast before I flew out, I started the process a year ago. I asked constantly if there was anything else I needed to do on my end, I was told no just waiting for my forms, only to be told at very short notice I needed, a medical, national police clearance and passport style photo, all of which I could’ve done months in advance but was only told last minute. The work ethic at this company, well there is none, you are better off doing the process yourself, because that’s what I did, the company did not write my resume, did not get me in contact with my camp, did not organise my flights, the only thing this company did for me was get my DS-2019 form, that’s it and I paid nearly $2000 for that (this form costs nothing) by going through this company. DO NOT USE I HAVE USED TWICE AND BOTH TIMES THEY HAVE DONE ABSOLUTELY NOTHING, the camp was great but I did that on my own, USE CAMP LEADERS OR APPLY ON YOUR OWN. if i could give no stars or negative I would, also not to mention they changed my trip coordinator 3 times, and failed to mention that while I’m in America I needed to check in so I nearly got deported the first time I went, this is not a joke or an over exaggeration, this year I went they sent me an American sim for when I’m in America, THEY SENT THAT SIM TO ME 3 WEEKS AFTER I WAS ALREADY THERE AND THEY SENT IT TO MY HOUSE IN AUSTRALIA!! HOW WAS I EVER SUPPOSED TO GET THE SIM, they didn’t check in to even make sure I got to America this company is a money grab and takes optimistic young adults and tricks them, they don’t do refunds and the chances are of you going are slim unless you do everything for them as I did, parents if you’re looking at companies to go with go with camp leaders or directly through camp America, global work and travel will not take care of your kid and anyone else looking they will take advantage of you and when your desperate for a trip especially at the end it gets worse , the only time they ever called me was when I had to pay the initial $1500

Global Work & Travel Australia

Hi Jessica,We are really saddened to receive this review from you about your experience! We have looked into your profile and we are surprised by your review as you have not discussed any concerns with our team before. There was an issue with DS forms for returning travellers, this was a system error with the US governments, which meant you couldn't apply online, this was unfortunately out of our control but we are sorry this caused any inconvenience. We can see you did call into our office a number of times and all calls were returned, your Trip Coordinator was available for any questions you had.We are sorry to hear that your sim card didn't make it to you in time. There must have been delays with posting. We will of course take this feedback on board though.Your Trip Coordinator was available for you in the lead up to your departure & our in country team also checked in with you after your trip started as well. One of our Team Managers has already reached out to you to discuss your concerns further, so if you can please get back to him as soon as you can that would be great. Thanks Jessica,Global Work & Travel

Negative experience: My situation with them was that I had paid a bit over $2000 towards a trip, and due to personal reasons decided to cancel. Their policy states that they will refund, but this refund comes as credits with the company (which is kind of useless) They do say they will allow you to transfer the credits into someone else’s name (like give your credits to friend) The advice I’ll give is: DO NOT give them money until you are certain you will go, they will assure you that their is no risk and pressure you into making payments, be sure first!!

Global Work & Travel Australia

Hi Todd,Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback about your experience. We appreciate all feedback as it helps us improve our services. We apologise for any inconvenience you may have faced regarding your cancellation. We would like to clarify our cancellation policy, which is clearly outlined in our booking terms and conditions, that all customers are required to read and agree to before making a booking. Our policy aims to strike a balance between providing flexibility to our customers and managing the operational costs associated with trip planning. While we understand that personal circumstances can change unexpectedly, we offer several options to accommodate our customers' needs. One such option is the credit. Although you mentioned finding this option "kind of useless," many of our customers find it valuable as it allows them to use the credits towards a future trip with us. This provides the opportunity to still enjoy our services without losing the value of their payment.Additionally, we offer a range of flexible booking alternatives. If the timing isn't right, customers can put their trip on hold and reschedule it when they are ready. We also allow bookings to be transferred to another trip of ours, giving customers the chance to explore different options. Moreover, we understand that plans change, so we provide the option to change the name on a booking, allowing customers to transfer their credits to someone else who can benefit from the experience. We strive to ensure that our customers have the necessary information to make informed decisions regarding their bookings. However, we sincerely apologise if you felt pressured into making payments before being certain about your plans. All of our trips have limited availability and intake dates so we never want anyone to miss out on when they wish to travel. Once again, we appreciate your feedback, and we apologise for any dissatisfaction caused. We value your business and remain committed to providing exceptional experiences to all our customers. Should you have any further concerns or questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to our customer support team.Global Work & Travel!

Fantastic experience: I was hesitant at first to go with a company for my working holiday (because of the $$$), but as it was my first time overseas I am glad I did as they provided me with all the knowledge, support and resources I needed to plan my working holiday and get myself to Canada. My travel coordinator, Mark, was by the far the reason why it is worth the money. I am currently on my working holiday and throughout this trip (from planning to action) he has been nothing but great support both in a friendly but professional manner. He has really taken the time to get to know me to learn what places and jobs would be best for me, whilst offering support to me for personal issues when I felt alone in a new country. Having this overseas has made me feel safe throughout all my travels. Mark is nothing short of an absolute legend.

Global Work & Travel Australia

Hi Amy,We are thrilled to hear that you have had a 5 star experience with us, especially with your coordinator Mark.We absolutely love hearing this positive feedback about Mark and how helpful he has been with assisting you throughout your trip every step of the way. He will continue to be there to assist you if you need anything at all.Thank you for travelling with Global Work & Travel!

Fantastic experience: Great Team and service. I'm a week away from my Working Holiday in Canada and it has been so great having a reliable team to help me through all the forms and documents required for such a trip. Shoutout to my Travel Concierge Piper who has been an incredible help :)

Fantastic experience: Jessie and Piper were amazingly helpful with my travel, visa, flights and insurance. They provided quick responses to questions and a quick, almost instant, turn around for documents that I needed for my journey. Without these girls, I wouldn’t be moving overseas because it can be stressful but these girls made it fun! Highly recommend GW&T and highly recommend these girls. Thank you!!

Global Work & Travel Australia

Negative experience: I wish I had the mental energy to write a more detailed review but I have been drained completely. These people are scam artists! Please don’t give them thousands of dollars for something you can do easily and better by yourself! They genuinely don’t care about helping you, they just want your money!

Global Work & Travel Australia

Hi River,We are sorry that you have this opinion of Global Work & Travel. We pride ourselves on providing a world-leading service for all of our travellers, so we find this feedback very concerning. We can see your experience began with us back in July 2021 when you first booked our Working Holiday Australia Trip and were assigned a dedicated Trip Coordinator, Travel Concierge and Arrival Coordinator. We are shocked to hear that you think we are a scam as our Team provided you with all pre-departure trip support and services including visa guidance and a job offer before arrival. Then, after making it into Australia you received all of your arrival services including an airport pickup, initial accommodation, came into our office to meet our team in person for your orientation, along with some tours and activities, and ongoing support from your Arrival Coordinator in Australia. Our team has stayed in contact with you through this 10+ month process, and providing all our customers with a high level of support, both pre-departure and post-arrival, is extremely important to us. We have checked with your Arrival Coordinator who is completely surprised to receive this review from you and they will be reaching out to you this week to discuss your concerns further. When it comes to organising this trip on your own we never say it’s impossible. Our services are designed to save our customers lots of money, time and stress. Of course, travellers can choose to do this type of trip by themselves. But what we provide is a premium service to ensure their trip goes smoothly. This includes; job interviews, airport transfers, bank account set up, sim card, pre-departure support, assistance with your visas, flights, insurance and everything else you could possibly need for your trip. It’s all the same, you could choose to make your furniture yourself. But if you haven’t done it before, or don’t really know what you’re doing, you should probably go to a furniture store. We would love to hear more about your experience with us so we can address your concerns in full. As mentioned above your Arrival Coordinator will be in touch, but if you can also please provide further details to [email protected] that would be helpful. Thanks River,

Negative experience: I made an enquiry to Global Work and Travel (GWT) about a working holiday overseas 2 years ago but because of the border restrictions I was concerned about it going ahead, so I contacted my trip coordinator and was falsely assured I would be safe to travel and return, which was never possible. I was allowed to use half of the funds I had paid, which I did but these flights was cancelled due to yet another border closure. I tried to rebook and they wanted to charge me the same amount as if I booked independently, not including what I had already paid - so this means flights would have been DOUBLE the amount they were worth through GWT. Absolutely ridiculous. GWT used manipulative tactics to try and leech more money from me by asking for unexpected additional fees after booking. I requested a full refund as it has been two years and I have paid them hundreds of dollars without any goods or service to show for it. They promised to "request a refund" for me from the airlines but have since ignored my attempts to follow it up and it's been two months since the request for refund.

Global Work & Travel Australia

Hi Marilyn,We are sorry to hear that this is how you feel about your experience with us. We understand that you have been in contact with our team who have explained everything to you, but we would like to take this time to clarify a couple of your concerns for you and also other readers.Unfortunately COVID affected so many of our travellers plans to travel. We had quite a number of travellers leave during COVID as a number of our trips were running, but we completely understand for anyone who wanted to put their trip on hold or not travel at the time they were supposed to. You decided that you wanted to cancel your trip, and you were offered a travel credit with us.Normally with our travel credits, this excludes domestic travel. However, our team as a gesture of goodwill, made an exception for you and allowed you to use this credit towards a domestic flight. Our team went above and beyond to assist you with your travel needs, however due to COVID you were unable to go on this domestic trip. We cancelled your flight with the airline, and at the time the airline said this was non refundable and offered a credit. This is a standard procedure for domestic airlines. However, we were able to get a waiver from the airline and they have offered a refund, which can take up to 12 weeks to process, which our team advised. Once we have received the refund we will let you know & this will be applied back to your account as a travel credit with us. We have sent a follow up to the airline but unfortunately for now this is out of our hands until the airline gets back to us. We completely understand this can be frustrating waiting, however this is down to the airline and their wait times. Our team has been in touch with you the whole time and have explained this to you thoroughly but please reach out to us if you need any further clarification. Thanks Marilyn,

Negative experience: Not worth the money, the actual pastoral help they give you on your trip is next to none. They essentially just upsell you everything and apply a LOT of pressure and time deadlines for you to pay out, over charge for flights insurance, phone plans etc etc. For the money you pay they really help you with very little. Read the small text. 6 month obligations for work placements, very strict about sticking to those contracts in order to ‘keep the companies reputation’. Majority of placements will be with big corp hotels where they treat you badly. You can do so much better on your own, just have the confidence to get out there and you’ll meet loads of people in the hostels you stay at and find places to stay without them! You don’t need to pay them thousands for the little help the give I promise you!

Global Work & Travel Australia

Hi Sam,We’re sorry to hear you feel this way about your recent experience with us. We have checked in with your Trip Coordinator, who is also very shocked to receive this review from you.Your Trip Coordinator was in touch with you frequently in the lead up to your arrival checking in with you every step of the way and they continue to stay in touch with you. They last spoke to you just last month, which is 6 months after your arrival. We are surprised to hear you think we have given you very little help as we assisted you with everything you needed on your arrival to Australia. Visa assistance, pre departure support, airport transfer, initial hostel accommodation, orientation session, bank account set up, sim card, arrival inclusions such as the Hinterland tour and surf lesson plus so much more assistance along the way. Before you arrived, we set you up with a job interview at a luxury resort in Byron Bay. One of the most sought after locations in Australia. You felt this wasn’t the best fit for you, so you declined the role.. We then set up another interview in Sydney, which you also declined. We then organised an interview with one of our partners at a ski resort, which unfortunately you declined. You discussed with your Trip Coordinator that you were looking at other options. All of our partners and our trip have a minimum 6 month commitment. We make this very clear on our website and also in our booking terms & conditions and it’s also discussed with your Trip Coordinator to ensure you are eligible for our trip. As I am sure you can appreciate, businesses don’t want to train new staff for them to leave just a couple of months later. We are partnered with a lot of different hospitality partner organisations all over Australia, from small bars or cafes to bigger hotel chains. Working for a big hotel chain in Australia is a preference for a lot of travellers as it looks great on your resume and an incredible experience. As you didn’t end up working for one of these hotel chains we are unsure why you would say they treat you badly, if you haven’t experienced it yourself. We do have deadlines in place to ensure we can book everything in for your arrival well in advance and have enough time to organise your job interview. We are sorry if you felt there was any pressure, however our team never wants anyone to miss out on travelling at their preferred time of year.We are not sure what you mean by phone plans as we do not set you up on a plan at all. You would have received your pre-paid sim card with the first month credit included when you arrived. Our services are designed to save our customers time, money and stress. We offer a premium service with full support every step of the way for all of our customers. We have dedicated Trip Coordinators who look after each customer before they travel and once they are in their destination country as well. You can travel on your own but many of our customers, especially those who are travelling for their first time, find this process very difficult and don’t want to have that stress to organise it all themselves. Which is exactly what we’re here for, to ensure you arrive in the country, with everything booked in and a job to go to! It’s great to have that peace of mind that you always have someone to turn to for any questions as well.We have passed your feedback onto your Trip Coordinator who will touch base with you next week to discuss your concerns further. We will continue to be here for the remainder of your Working Holiday should you need anything at all.We hope you have enjoyed your Working Holiday in Australia so far & also have the best time for the remainder of your stay here.

Negative experience: I went with this company to Canada and they were extremely overpriced. They did help me set up a job, bank accounts and flights but it really is something you can do on your own as most of my friends I met in Canada hadn't used a company and found jobs pretty easily. You just need to do your research. If you really want to go with a company the working holiday club is much cheaper and does the same job.

Global Work & Travel Australia

Hi Kat,We are sorry to hear you feel this way about your recent experience with us on your trip to Canada. We pride ourselves on providing a premium service to all of our customers so it saddens us to receive your review. Our services are designed to save our customers time, money and stress. We offer a premium service with full support every step of the way for all of our customers. We have dedicated Trip Coordinators who look after each customer before they travel and once they are in their destination country as well. Which is exactly what we’re here for, to ensure that this process all goes smoothly. With our Working Holiday Trips we have a guarantee that we organise a job interview for you before you arrive or within your first 4 nights of arrival, if we don't we extend your hostel accommodation at our expense. This saves you time looking for work when you first arrive & handing out resumes. Our trips also come with a huge range of inclusions which allows our customers to arrive in-country, knowing exactly where they will be going, an airport transfer to their initial accommodation all organised, a detailed orientation session in our office, fun arrival activities, plus that dedicated contact to allow for a smooth transition in a new country. Not to mention, all of our other incredible trip inclusions! We would love to look into your experience with us further, however we are unable to find you in our system with just your first name. If you can please provide your full name & contact details to [email protected] we can look into it for you. Thanks Kat,

Positive experience: Global Work & Travel have been great! I'm set to leave for my Canadian Working Holiday in just over 20 days, and having my personalised team dedicated to helping me the whole way through this process the last few months has really helped calm my nerves and made me feel very supported. Moving overseas alone is daunting and knowing I have this team behind me puts me at ease! Although at times pushy, speaking to them over the phone, they overall just wanted to help me out. Meeting my arrivals coordinator over zoom was great because I was able to establish a familiar face I'll meet when I arrive. Tiare was so lovely, helped me the best she could, and responded fairly promptly to all my emails. Stacey, my Trip Coordinator, was super friendly! At times, I felt pressure to pay for things up front, but after speaking to her, she was able to help me set up payment plans and set amounts I was comfortable with to help me achieve my trip without selling myself short. I think this company is great because it truly is good value for money. What you pay them, you see it returned in travel assistance, extras and support. Many people have said it's easy enough to do this process yourself, but for someone like me who lives a busy life and can get slightly overwhelmed sometimes, having Global explaining every little thing in emails and never hesitating to call me helped a lot. Having their reminders and assistance with booking things really just relieved the stress to sort it all out myself. Global Work & Travel are a company I believe you can trust to get you where you want to go :) I'm looking forward to my trip made possible by them!

Global Work & Travel Australia

Hi Emily!Thank you for taking the time to leave us your feedback on your experience so far! :)Our main aim is to make travelling easy so we are delighted to hear that we have been able to assist you with your travels so far and it has been stress free!We love hearing that both Stacey & Tiare have been there to promptly reply to your emails or calls! Your arrival coordinator Tiare, is excited to meet you in person once you arrive & will be there to answer any questions you have on your whole working holiday! You are going to absolutely love Canada! We can't wait to hear all about your adventures! Don't forget to share your photos with us once you are in Canada too!Thank you from all of us at Global Work & Travel!

Fantastic experience: My bf and I are currently in the process of working towards getting to Canada for a working holiday. Due to covid, the Canadian government has changed the process a bit in order to be approved for a visa, so I’m so glad We decided to choose Global Work & Travel Co otherwise I would have so much anxiety and no idea what to do! Yes the process is still long and stressful, but having a friendly, knowledgeable person there to help you through it, is worth every cent. Cant wait to get on that plane!!

Global Work & Travel Australia

Hi Indi! Thanks for choosing Global Work & Travel for your Working Holiday Trip to Canada! We're so thrilled you had a 5-star experience with our team and that they filled you in on everything and answered all your questions along the way. The visa process for Canada is very in depth so we are glad to hear that your Trip Coordinator was able to guide you through this process to make it more simple. We can't wait to welcome you into Canada soon - it will be worth the wait!

Negative experience: Too pushy for you to pay money and now I can't get a refund $400 down the drain

Global Work & Travel Australia

Hi Brady,We pride ourselves on providing a premium service to all of our customers so it saddens us that you feel this way about your recent experience with us.We have limited availability and strict deadlines for our intakes, due to a number of things such as visa submission dates & cut offs, season variables, intake capacity for our offices, and even flight limitations for some trips, even more so now with COVID-19.We are sorry to hear that you feel like we were pushy in any way, but we can assure you, your Work & Travel Expert would have been simply trying to save you any disappointment from missing out on your trip! We have had this happen a number of times in the past with previous customers. Our trip deposits are non-refundable and we do make this clear throughout the booking process where you must tick a box to confirm you understand and this is also in our Terms & Conditions. We offer a Lifetime Deposit Guarantee which means if you are unable to travel now, you can simply put your trip on hold until the time is right. You can push your dates back and even change to another trip without any fees to do so. This gives you peace of mind that you haven’t lost your deposit, it is still on file with us for you to use in the future. We would love to assist you with your travels in the future and we are here to help you when you need. If you would like to discuss your concerns further please reach out to [email protected].

Fantastic experience: Hey there this is Amanda! I just wanted to talk about my Costa Rica experience with Global Work! It was more than I could have asked for, it allowed me to get out of my comfort zone and do many great things that I would never be able to forget. Things such as zip lining (I faced my fear of heights), even just waving and introducing myself to new people, going to yoga classes (which was provided in the TEFL program through Global Work), moving into my new little apartment and also becoming a certified teacher! My journey began from departing Australia. It was quite the trip but once I arrived in Costa Rica I knew it was all worth it. I met the taxi driver and I already knew I felt right at home. I felt welcomed straight away as the driver showed me the best local places to eat and was having a laugh with a few jokes here and there!
I wasn’t used to people being welcoming. I really did feel right at home! As soon as I saw the luscious green trees that the beautiful country takes great pride in I knew there was no reason to NOT be happy! I met soo many wonderful people that I consider lifetime buddies, and I also met many locals who I also consider my life time friends. I was shown many hidden beaches, waterfalls, and mountains by the locals who loved to show their country to me!
I learnt how Costa Rica is one of the most biodiverse countries in the world and it even shows! with the pacific side being completely different to the oceans on the Caribbean side ! both are just as beautiful and I can’t even get started on how amazing all the animals I encountered were (this is for the animal lovers out there), I encountered Sloths, Pizotes, Toucans, Peacocks, Turtles and Frogs right in front of my house and when I was just going on walks in my Costa Rican neighbourhood! The ocean was just a walk away from my house. It was difficult going back home as I felt connected to the country in many ways. The culture, the people, the animals, the nature and the food were all big components! I am extremely grateful for the journey that I have embarked on and it really does give a wonderful perspective to life knowing more of what is in the world.

Global Work & Travel Australia

Hi Amanda,Wow! What an absolutely incredible review of your experience! It sounds magical there! We are over the moon to hear your amazing feedback & all the activities that you have already been able to do over in Costa Rica! We pride ourselves on making travel easy & supporting our customers so it has made us so happy to read your experience & all the new adventures you have been on!Enjoy your time there, live it up & thanks for travelling with Global Work & Travel.

Negative experience: DO NOT FALL FOR THIS SCAM!!! Global work and travel prey on young, just barely adult teens wanting to travel!! I foolishly fell for it!! Thankfully I only paid the deposit which was $300 but I almost payed the rest of $2300! If it wasn’t for my God sent mum telling me to ask questions and to ask if the flights were included, which BTW ARE NOT!! Kate on the phone had me thinking it was only $2600 to go to the UK, get a visa and start working which is entirely not true. It’s $2600 just to book with them (idk why it’s so expensive when all they provide is a lift to your hotel which is for only a few days and what? A pub-crawl? I could just have one for $30 where I live!) it’s an extra 2k to get a visa and insurance, then you ALSO have to PAY FOR YOUR OWN FLIGHTS!! Which btw aren’t cheap, about 3-4K just for a flight, so altogether almost 7k. They do not disclose this on the phone. The guy (Hayden) on the phone to me yesterday was SO persistent for me to pay the rest, telling me “ThErE aRe OnLy LiMiTed SpOtS, iF yOu DoNt pAy NoW, yOuR SpOt wIlL bE gOnE anD yOuLl hAve tO gO aT a LaTeR dAtE” do not listen to this lad ‘Hayden’ or whatever the scammer likes to be called. These guys literally are money hungry. I was really about to send them the rest of the $2300 because this guy just WOULDN’T SHUT UP ABOUT IT!! Trying to sell me a damn fake dream. These people are con artists and are going to tell you everything you want to hear. The first phone call I had with Kate, she was telling me to look up all these countries of ‘where I could be if I take this opportunity’ all to then say “you HAVE to pay a deposit NOW if you want your spot locked in” I also find it quite weird how they asked how much savings I had or if I’m going to be saving up more money for the trip, oh wait I know why!! So they can then try drain more money out of me!! Yay I love being sold a fake dream it’s the best! Anyways I’m glad My mum made me ask (KEYWORD, ASK because they do not tell you this information until it’s too late and have all your money) about the flights otherwise I would’ve given my money without knowing there’s so many extra costs! I’m willing to take my loss of $300 because at least I didn’t lose $2300! Btw all the 5 star reviews are completely fake and written by the staff there, it’s sad because it’s completely legal to do that as well. I was also on trip advisor looking at reviews which were all negative and saw that an employee was trying to discredit people and say they’re lying about their bad experience. I’m sure hundreds, if not thousands of people are lying about being scammed

Global Work & Travel Australia

Hi Fai,We are sorry to hear that you feel this way about your recent experience with us. We would like to take this opportunity to clarify some of your concerns. We are one of the world's leading and largest work & travel brands in the world, operating for over 13 years. We have over 60 travel experiences to over 30 countries plus offices in Vancouver, London & the Gold Coast. We are absolutely not a scam. We would not have been able to continue operating this long and assist over 57,000 travellers if we were.We make it very clear that flights are not included in our trips, this is outlined on each of our trip pages on our website under the title “What extra costs will I have”. When you book a trip with us, you must complete booking forms, it is again outlined clearly in the booking terms & conditions that flight prices are not included. During your registration and completing these forms, you would have also ticked a box to confirm you understand that airfare, travel insurance & visa costs are not included in your trip price. Your Work & Travel Expert also went over the trip inclusions with you on the phone & the cost of the trip. So we are unsure how this information was missed. We do have a dedicated Travel Team who can organise your flights, travel insurance & any tours you wish to do! If you are not happy with the quote you are given by our Travel Team, we are more than happy for you to book your own flight. We can assure you our trips have more included than just a transfer to a hotel and a party tour as you mention. All of our trips come with a number of trip inclusions, such as pre departure support, visa assistance, initial accommodation, airport transfers, arrival activities, bank & tax set up assistance, sim card, job interviews plus loads more. Travelling with Global takes all the time, worry & stress out of travelling on your own. We are an arrival and support service there to ensure everything has been organised & set up for your arrival. You will have our support for your entire trip! Our Work & Travel Experts are there to assist you with booking your trip, they go over a budget with you to ensure you are aware of the costs involved. All of our trips have strict deadlines for intakes, due to things such as visa submission dates & cut offs, season variables and intake capacity for our offices. We have limited availability on all of our trips, even more so now due to COVID. Given the current state of the world and the backlog of travellers we have currently, your Work & Travel Expert and Trip Coordinator were absolutely correct in saying that if you didn’t lock in your trip, you would have to push back your dates. Finally, we’re a little confused about your claim that all of our reviews are fake and from our staff. There is absolutely no way this could be possible. As you know, to leave a review you need to make a profile by submitting personal details. This is not possible for us to make thousands of fake profiles on multiple review sites. All of our reviews come from actual verified travellers, and you’ll notice that there are far more good reviews than there are bad. We are actually one of the highest rated travel companies in the world. There’s a lot that goes into Global Work & Travel trips. You may not see the value in this one, that’s completely fine and is your choice. As mentioned, we have thousands of travellers who have had incredible experiences and would attest otherwise. We just hope that if you don’t change your mind and decide to travel with us to the UK that you take the opportunity to utilise your Lifetime Deposit Guarantee in the future for one of our other trips. We would love to show you that you did make the correct decision in deciding to go with Global, and you can see why so many people love us.If you would like to discuss your concerns further please reach out to [email protected].

Negative experience: This company does a very good job of farming 5-star reviews from somewhere, but that's about the extent of what they do well. It is a complete waste of money to go through Global Work and Travel, they will provide no extra services that you can't do already with a bit of research. To any person considering using this company, please don't ignore the negative reviews. All these people have been ripped off! Pathetic response

Global Work & Travel Australia

Hi J T,We are sorry that you have this opinion of Global Work & Travel. We pride ourselves on providing a world-leading service for all of our travellers, so we find this feedback very concerning. We can assure you that we absolutely do not farm our reviews. Each one comes from real, past customers and are generally extremely positive. In fact, in the 12 years+ we have been in operation we have grown to become one of the highest-rated travel companies in the world! Our services are designed to save our customers lots of money, time and stress. We offer full support every step of the way for all of our customers. Of course, travellers can choose to do this type of trip by themselves. But what we provide is a premium service to ensure their trip goes smoothly. This includes; job interviews, airport transfers, bank account and tax assistance, pre-departure support, assistance with your visas, flights, insurance and everything else you could possibly need for your trip. Negative experience: DONT NOT GO THROUGH THESE PEOPLE THEY WILL NOT GIVE YOUR MONEY BACK!!!!! I have asthma and wanted to cancel my gap year UK trip because I’m now at a higher risk of dying if I get COVID. I got a doctors certificate from my doctor saying that I shouldn’t be travelling with COVID out and about because I am at higher risk and they still said no! I booked this trip way before COVID even got out and they said the only way I can get my money back is if I had a terminal illness or they will take 50% of my $2000. I now have to put my trip on hold until COVID is better which let’s be honest isn’t happening in my lifetime. Very unhappy!

Global Work & Travel Australia

Hi Prue,We are saddened to receive this review from you. Unfortunately COVID has affected so many people's travels and we know how disappointing this is for everyone. We understand that you have been in communication with our cancellations team who have already provided you with a number of options with your trip. There are a number of costs involved behind the scenes when you book one of our trips. Rather than cancelling your trip completely and losing any money associated with it, we are offering you a 100% trip credit that can be used in the future towards any of our trips we offer. We think this is very reasonable and this is something that many travel companies are not offering.I know it may feel as though COVID isn’t going to get better, however we can assure you it is and travel is already opening up all across the world. The UK is open for Australians with no arrival restrictions along with Costa Rica, Canada & lots of Europe as well. We completely understand that you are not comfortable to travel at this stage due to your asthma, and we always suggest getting the go ahead from your doctor first. So, with your trip credit that you have on file with us, you can push your trip back until the time is right for you and you are comfortable to travel. We hope that in the future your opinion of us changes as we would absolutely love to assist you with your travels when we can.If you would like to discuss your concerns further please reach out to [email protected].

Negative experience: WARNING! Was told that I am eligible to teach English in Thailand April 2022. I paid a deposit of $295. A couple of days later they told me that I'm ineligible. I requested a refund and they refused. They took my money, can't provide a service and won't refund my money. I have no idea what they need my money for. It should be a simple refund. Scam artists and greedy crooks. The reason that I became ineligible was because when asked what was my highest level of education. I answered high school. To get school certificate you need to pass 3 subjects. I passed two but it is indeed my highest level of education as I have not gone on to any other form of education. The answers that I gave were correct and honest. I never said that I have school certificate and was not told that I would need documentation on my sign up call. Slimey business practice.

Global Work & Travel Australia

Hi Chris,We are sorry to hear that this is how you feel about Global. We would like to take this time to clarify your concerns.Every single trip of ours has set eligibility requirements. At the beginning of all of our calls, we run through a number of questions to ensure each traveller is eligible for the trip, before registering. When your Work & Travel Expert asked you the eligibility questions it was determined from your answers that you were eligible for the trip. After this call you registered for our Paid Teaching trip to Thailand. Once you spoke with your Trip Coordinator it was discussed again the requirements for the trip, where you then gave a different answer which unfortunately made you not eligible for the trip. Our trip deposits are non refundable, this is made very clear throughout our booking process. The reason we ask the qualification questions is to avoid situations like this. Had you of told us in the initial call about your education history we would have informed you that you were not eligible for the trip.Although our trip deposits are non-refundable they are super flexible so you are able to transfer this to another trip that you would be eligible for.We can confirm that you have been referred to our Cancellations Team and they will be in touch with you to discuss your concerns further. Thanks,

Negative experience: Overall not impressed. very helpful and descriptive in the months before travelling to Australia. little confusing on arrival but once i asked someone at the information desk, it was made easier. The orientantion was very helpful and interesting. However, after my depart with Global work and travel’s office I feel they didn’t really listen to what I was wanting in regards to jobs. They would only offer me jobs that were either commission only or stalls in a shopping centre. I feel they were unsupportive. It was easier for me to find a job myself than through them.

Global Work & Travel Australia

Hi Sarah,We are sorry to hear this feedback from you. As a premium service provider we want to ensure all of our travellers are having a great time on their trip so we are saddened to receive this feedback as it goes against our vision and purpose. We are glad that you found us helpful pre arrival & that your orientation was helpful & interesting! Our Working Holiday Trips come with a number of trip inclusions and one of those inclusions is a job interview prior to arrival or within your first 4 nights. We do ask all of our customers to stay open minded & flexible with job types & locations as we are unable to make any guarantees. We are purely the middle man there to put you in touch with Partner Organisations of ours, we are not a recruitment company so we are unable to guarantee a certain job type or location. We can see the team did organise an opportunity for you in an outback pub in hospitality to give you a chance to gain some hospitality experience but unfortunately you were not happy there and left. We understand that you were hoping to get work in hospitality in Sydney however all of our Partner Organisations there do require at least 1-2 years of hospitality experience, unfortunately you didn't have enough experience for them.We are sorry that you feel the team didn't listen to you & were not supportive. We can assure you they would have taken your preferences into account, however it is completely up to Partner Organisatoins who they wish to interview, we have no control in this.Again, we are saddened to receive this review and that you feel like the job interview aspect of your trip didn't live up to what you expected. If you would like to discuss this matter further please don't hesitate to get in touch with [email protected].

Negative experience: Just a little disappointed with the way things have turned out. I have had a file with Global Work & Travel since about early 2019, I was planning on doing a working holiday in Canada for 2 years leaving on the 13th of November 2020 but of course, the pandemic happened. I never got up to the process of applying for a visa and had just set up my G-World Account and been sent instructions on how to apply for my visa. I got in contact with the Global Work & Travel team seeming the pandemic is happening and now I have a 90% chance of me no longer going at all. I got in contact to see if I could get a refund or even a partial refund seeming I am no longer travelling and I was told that this would not be possible. I understand that a lot goes on behind the scene and staff need to be paid, but this money should be sitting on MY account and if work has been done, then it should slowly be deducted, I shouldn’t be refused a partial refund completely because where’s my money gone? I was told that I have travel credit through them which is a lifetime guarantee but that seems pointless as like I said, I have a 90% chance of no longer doing a working holiday as I assume international travel won’t be back up until at least the end of 2021 and by then, it’s just not going to work. I don’t know, I just feel like I have wasted a couple thousand dollars for no outcome. I’ve had money taken away from me when I hardly had anything done and now its sitting on an account that won’t even be getting used. I’m just disappointed.

Global Work & Travel Australia

Hi Fern,We're so sorry to hear that you feel this way about your recent experience with us.Unfortunately this year COVID has affected many people's plans to go travelling and we are saddened that it has affected your trip as well. It has been an unprecedented challenging year especially for the travel industry. Our trips come with ultimate flexibility and a lifetime guarantee so if you are unable to travel when you originally wanted to, we do allow you to push your trip back until the time is right. We understand as you mention, that by this time you may not be able to travel due to work commitments. If you are unable to do a Working Holiday, you are able to change your trip to one of our shorter Volunteer Trips or even transfer your trip to a friend or family member.Or, if you did wish to put your trip on hold for a couple of years and look at travelling when the time is right, you will be able to pick back up where you left off due to our Lifetime Guarantee. There are many costs involved behind the scenes when you book a trip with us. Rather than cancelling your trip and losing any money associated with it, we are offering you a 100% credit that you can use in the future towards any of our trips we offer. We think this is very reasonable and is something other travel companies are not offering.International travel will absolutely resume at some point in the near future, and you will definitely be able to complete this trip. The great thing about the Working Holiday Visa to Canada means you can travel right up until you are 35 years of age, so you have plenty of time to head over to do a winter season & we would love nothing more than to assist you on your trip.If you would like to discuss this further, please get in touch with [email protected] really do hope to have you travel with us one day in the future as we would love to assist you on your trip to Canada.

Fantastic experience: I wish I could personally thank everyone at the Global team who helped me achieve this once in a lifetime experience. But I have to give my special thanks to the team who helped me with my big leap - Tiarna, Jaz and Vedrana. I have had my eyes open to a whole new different way of life, learnt new things and skills that I’ll be taking back home with me, met amazing new friends, interesting different people and I’ve also fallen deeply in love during my time here. The confidence I have gained within myself is something I can’t express in words. I came from a small town where everything I needed was only minutes away, I knew everyone I saw and they knew me. I felt trapped, closed in, bored. There wasn’t a second thought when I started the process with Global and although I was upset and terrified to leave behind everything I knew and was comfortable with, I am so glad I did. I am so proud and happy of the person I have grown into. I couldn’t have done it without the help of the Global team and my family. The team are beyond amazing, they kept in contact with me from the first inquiry phone call and answered every question I had (and lots of questions that my mum had to ask!) Of course I was skeptical at first, I wasn’t sure what I was getting myself into but I was constantly in touch with everyone from phone calls, to Skype calls or just emails keeping me up to date with everything. It soothed my worries straight away. I didn’t know where to start with getting a Tier 5 Youth Mobility Visa so having the team run through and tell me everything I needed to provide was a massive weight off my shoulders. They took care of all the stressful bits that come with organising life oversees, organising flights and transport from the airport to the hostel that they also arranged. They found me a job before I even left the country! Not once did I feel abandoned or left in the dark from the moment I left right up until even now, they still keep in contact with me. I really could write all day about how this experience has changed me as I’m sure everyone else could too. But this is something you need to experience yourself, and I can guarantee you won’t regret it!! I am beyond please with Global, they have done such an amazing job. Everyone should be proud.

Global Work & Travel Australia

Hi Dayna,We are delighted to hear your feedback and the positive experience you have had, from our team being there to answer all your questions, assisting you with your visa and having your job lined up before you left your home country! Fantastic experience: I went to the UK from Australia mid pandemic- I had to apply for a special exemption, visa etc and the whole process was stressful. I’m so glad I went with Global Work & Travel Co otherwise I would’ve had an overwhelming amount of anxiety and no idea what to do. Everyone thinks leaving Aus is impossible at the moment but in reality it’s not and Olivia (my Au pair manager) calmed my nerves throughout the whole process even when I sent a hundred emails a day. Now that I’ve been in the UK just over two weeks I can say without a doubt that I don’t regret my decision at all- I’m loving my new role as an au pair and can’t recommend it enough to to anyone else who is considering it even in the midst of this pandemic because there are so many misconceptions about how Europe and the UK are handling COVID-19 and I can say it’s safer to travel than I thought it would be; airlines give you a whole row to yourself, everything is sanitised and everyone wears face masks. In the UK all the tourist attractions are basically empty, grocery stores, Uber’s and restaurants are sanitised and workers wear face masks. My honest advice- if you want to go overseas now- do it but go with global work & travel so you have someone who is knowledgeable about special exemptions, visas etc and that can guide you along the way- I seriously cannot recommend this company enough.

Global Work & Travel Australia

Hi Sarah,We are delighted to hear how happy you are and a huge thank you for taking the time to write such a positive 5 star review of your experience. It is great to hear that your Trip Coordinator and the rest of the team at Global were able to calm your nerves and assist you to get you on your way to the UK. We also absolutely love hearing that you would recommend us to others! We are very much looking forward to hearing about all of your adventures and seeing plenty of photos while you are there.Enjoy your time there, live it up & thanks for travelling with Global Work & Travel.

Negative experience: Delivery was missing half of products. Second delivery was posted to wrong address and then its my problem to pick it up from there ??? Poor service and quality of delivery as well as support! Cant recomend at all!!! Be aware purchasing there!!!

Global Work & Travel Australia

Hello TG Engineering,We think you may have posted this review for the wrong company. The only item's we send to our travellers are their welcome packs including luggage tags, pens, a passport holder and things of that nature. We are sorry if this is what you meant. If so, please get in touch with [email protected] and we can make sure you're sent the right items.Kind Regards,Global Work & Travel

Negative experience: Horrible company. You're just another number to them and once they get your money after being extremely pushy, you barely then hear from them. Little to no help with getting a job. Don't waste your time and money.

Ron Darrow 4 years ago

Negative experience: SCAM! Untrustworthy. Would not give them any money. Nonrefundable deposit. Only 50% refund no matter the circumstances. They charged me $1,000 for a few emails and calls. We didn’t even have a date set only an estimated time!!

Kyle Murrie 4 years ago

Negative experience: Con Artists, didn't have a job for me when I'd arrived and promised that the accommodation would be paid by them due to the inconvenience. NOPE I paid the accommodation because they refused. All they can offer is dingy bar work, the place I worked was a dive I asked for a new opportunity to get outta there and they were like 'sorry you've got a job, we can't help you' Paid 3 times more for my flights here with them than I did going home when I looked myself. In the end I did my own job hunting and house hunting. I found much better paid work more to the job description I'd asked for and much cheaper accommodation on airbnb and this was with 15-20 mins of searching. Please please steer well clear, once you're at your destination they couldn't give a toss about you!

We would like to thank the whole Global team for their help and making our dream to come to Australia happen!

Fantastic experience: Great service! From the minute I picked up the phone the girl was so enthusiastic about my new interest in a new adventure teaching abroad. She left the office to go elsewhere but the new lad Dylan was absolutely fantastic. He was ALWAYS enthusiastic and knew what he was doing, knew what I needed to do, kept me informed and guided me all along the way. All your documents are online and easily accessible by Global and yourself. Suffice to say, I made it to Myanmar. I took my TESOL qualification, a completely new direction for me! Once completed, the company I'd been assigned to got me a teaching job in Naypyidaw, where I've been teaching nearly 5 months now and love it! I found that Global cost a little more than another company, however they just got you there and course completed. No guarantee of a job. However, with Global, you get work guaranteed.

Fantastic experience: I only signed up to Global Travel 7 months before I intended on travelling to Australia and they made me feel confident and prepared in only that short amount of time before my arrival. Upon my arrival, the airport transfer, hostel and orientation information was easy to follow and ran smoothly. Even though I have only just started my journey, I already feel at home here and look forward to what the year has to offer. I met a fellow Global Traveller at the aiport, we proceeded to have our aiport transfer and bunk together and now are planning to do lots of exciting things together. We get on so well together and it's a lot more relaxing knowing that I already have a friend here.

Fantastic experience: My travel concierge was Jaz who was ever patient and always had a friendly demeanor. She was always helpful and ready to assist. I have to say too that Sam was also very helpful and his upbeat personality was always positive. The only thing I would have preferred was a one flight or even one stop over not two stop overs. Perhaps this could be rectified in the future. Thank you.

Negative experience: I've sent 3 emails and have received no reply. This company ripped me off and won't return my $700 deposit on a trip that I never even went on.

Global Work & Travel Australia

Hi Sophie,We’re sorry to read that you feel this way about your experience with us.A trip deposit is non-refundable and this is made transparent upon booking. This offsets costs in creating your booking in the first place and taking away a spot from another potential customer. Each customer is required to tick several boxes during the booking forms, making it clear they have read and understood the conditions, one of which is that their deposit is non- refundable. We do also mention at the same time our Lifetime Deposit Guarantee, so if something comes up and someone can't travel now, they can in fact still use it at a later date or even transfer it to someone else instead. We pride ourselves on providing a premium service to all of our customers and we would like to discuss your concerns in more detail, as we are continuously focused on improving our services & customer experience. If you're prepared to share your full name with us, we encourage you to send your feedback to [email protected] so we can investigate into this further.

Negative experience: They're extremely unhelpful and pressure you into thinking that setting everything up is extremely difficult but when they help you through it, it's quick to realize you could have done it yourself. Also flights that they book they obviously take an extra fee for themselves, I needed to book an urgent flight and they quoted me nearly $300 more for the same flight than the flight center I went to to book it with.

Negative experience: I advised the company that I wanted to work in London. I told them I needed a place to live and find a business job in the middle of London. This was discussed over numerous different phone calls along the way and I was always told yes that is fine. As soon as my full payment was processed the next stage of workers told me that they only provide you with accommodation in England but not LONDON itself. They said if I want accommodation provided then I cant live and work in LONDON. If the correct information was provided to me from the begginging I would have never used this company at all and never put a full payment down. (Flights not paid for) They also charge you more for your flights because they say that you are paying for a FLEXIBLE TICKET. Listen everyone! You can buy your tickets yourself without this company and chose the option for a FLEXIBLE TICKET and you will pay a lottttt less! This company just wants your money they dont actually care about whatever you want from your desired trip. I had a lot of other problems which I dont need to mention, hopefully these ones stated get you to realise that it is much cheaper and less stress to actually do it on your own xxx

Global Work & Travel Australia

Hi Grace,We’re sorry to hear you feel this way about your experience with us. We have since investigated your review, as we take any complaint very seriously and we’re continuously focused on providing exceptional customer service and travel experiences.Upon us reviewing the phone recordings of your initial call with one of our Work & Travel Experts, you stated that you were flexible on job opportunities, their type, and location. When discussing a particular job opportunity in London, you were advised that this generally does not come with staff accommodation and that accommodation in Central London is extremely expensive & unaffordable for even most Londoners which you acknowledged. Upon your second call with our team, you were presented with, read and agreed to the Terms & Conditions before booking, which clearly states no specific job opportunity or location can be guaranteed. In terms of flights, we do not force our customers to book these through us. We do recommend it though and offer the service as a way to save our customers stress and time, ensure they arrive at the right place at the right time, and to be able to provide flexibility in case something comes up that needs them to be changed, which online budget fares generally do not come with. We’re disappointed you feel this way about your own experience without even leaving home and you have chosen not to continue your trip with us. You have been offered and accepted a refund on your trip, in line with our Terms & Conditions. We hope maybe we can help you with your travels in the future. We wish you the best of luck on your trip regardless.

Positive experience: Global are very friendly and do ensure you are aware of what your requirements are however they do offer quite expensive flight and insurance packages that you can get cheaper yourself. You can also do your tax file and visa yourself online however it is good to have the global office for any queries or help

Sas 5 years ago

Negative experience: I enquired earlier about going on a working holiday only to have a very pushy salesman call me, trying to force me to book the trip today. I understand that there is high demand for these trips and that you want everyone to have the opportunity before someone else takes it, however, I was incredibly frustrated as I was only enquiring and this salesman made me feel very pressured and stressed out and that I had to make the decision immediately. I told him that I was currently at university and wanted to think more about it but he kept pushing the idea of a gap year, going on about statistics that weren't overly relevant such as how many instagram followers the company has and ultimately, when he found out I was not financially stable enough at the present time, he told me that I needed to "think about it more" (yes I do realise that, I was ENQUIRING for a reason) then I felt as though he just wanted to get off the phone as quickly as possible. I work in sales as well and understand that it is not an easy job however he did not listen to what I wanted, I felt as though he was insincere in his manner of speaking and that he was quite pushy. After that, I will not be booking a trip with your company.

Global Work & Travel Australia

Hi Saskia,We're very saddened to receive this review and that you feel this way in regards to your experience with us.We do have strict deadlines for our trips, which are due to things such as visa submission dates & cut offs, season variables, popularity, intake capacity for our offices, and even flight limitations for some trips. Depending on the trip, these fill up especially quickly during peak periods, and on a first-in, first-served basis. We understand that people are in all different stages of life and financial positions and are mindful of this. Our team was simply striving to save you any disappointment from missing out on a spot. Please feel free to contact us on [email protected] if you wish to discuss your situation any furtherBest of luck on your future travel endeavours!

Negative experience: This is a tough review as staff such as Alex were really great to deal with on my planning and trip to Canada. This is about the company itself. I personally for one felt like i was tricked into using this company. I was told it was a very complicated and costly process getting work overseas. I later found i could have very easily done everything myself without paying the huge amounts of money. I was also tricked into paying double the airline fare as oppose to flight center. I asked flight center about the ticket and they said its exactly the same as what they offered. I was also pressured alot and contacted alot to pay fees asap. At one point i was contacted whilst i was at work 4 times and the lady was very rude to me. My big issue was i felt abit like a dollar value more than a customer. I had to unfortunately leave due to urgent family matters, and whilst Alex really tried to help and showed empathy, i feel the values in the company in relation to client satisfaction is poor. Upon my regretful leave, i was offered nothing to help me get my moneys worth of all the coupons and trips i couldn't use and little to no assistance in planning. It was a very stressful time for trying to arrange flights back to Australia without notice and the entire time had them on my back saying " youve only got 1 free night left at hostel then youre on your own" and when i asked to give me advice and help arranging airport transfers from hostel i was told it was my responsibility to do that. Next to all the free coupons and what not i didnt get to use which they could have easily turned into say an extra night at hostel or airport transfers to make my time abit easier. Upon arriving home too i went to get a refund on my vastly unused insurance and they refused to do that telling me that its a rule for insurance companies not to refund it. I know this is untrue as i have refunded unused travel insurance dozens of times. Flight center even said that most insurances will refund and that its not true that they dont. Overall i understand alot of the last things i stated is within globals right to not offer extra assistance or refunds but that doesnt make it morally ok. I paid alot of money for that trip and I would have liked to have felt supported. Youre sending people away from home. Many are 17 18 years old or have never been away from home before. Going that extra mile to really make sure your clients are happy, safe and supported really makes a huge difference. Unfortunately I feel like its more money focused than towards customer satisfaction and thats why im giving global a bad review. Its a real shame too because some of the staff are great.

Hi Rael,We're sorry to hear you feel this way about your experience with us. We truly get upset when we hear feedback like this, as it goes against our organisation’s vision and purpose. We have looked into your feedback & travel history and can see that you left your job opportunity due to urgent issues, however, you were informed then that if you decide to come back to Canada we can assist you with job opportunities. Again, you had used your airport transfer voucher when you arrived, so we could not book you another one as you had already used it. You were told all of your inclusions needed to be used in Vancouver. We do not expect customers to book their flights through us, they can obtain their flights from any carrier via any channel they wish we simply offer the additional service. When you raised concerns about the price of flights, our Travel team were happy to send you an updated invoice with a cheaper flight option. It was explained that the difference is that we offer flexibility. A non-refundable flight for example would be cheap, whereas if you can pay a change fee it would be a little more expensive. Our services are designed to save our customers lots of money, time and stress, and our 40,000+ customer base and growing make us one of the most travelled gap year companies in the world. We would love it if you'd contact us on [email protected] so we can try to rectify any of your concerns. Thanks.
