After pausing the program in March 2020 due to coronavirus, the much-loved Brisbane Greeters Program recommenced Friday 11 December 2020. The program will play a critical role in the city's economic recovery by helping to promote Brisbane and its many attractions.
Our Greeters embody the warmth and friendliness that Brisbane is recognised for and they have shared their passion for Brisbane with more than 80,000 people since the first tours in 2012.
One of the best ways to get to know Brisbane is through the eyes of a skilled and knowledgeable local. Our friendly Greeters are proud and passionate volunteers who are keen to share Brisbane's stories, show you some great spots and introduce you to our vibrant city.
Whether you've been a local all your life, visiting family and friends, or calling Brisbane your new home, we're looking forward to meeting you. We have more than 100 Greeters who can help you find your way in more than 20 languages.
Brisbane City Council acknowledges this Country and its Traditional Custodians. We pay our respects to the Elders, those who have passed into the dreaming; those here today; those of tomorrow.
Brisbane City Greeters: Reviews
Fantastic experience: Great walking tour with helpful, knowledgeable guides. Unlike other ‘free’ walking tours, this one is actually free! They took us inside buildings as well which was fun as it saved us going back by ourselves later.
Positive experience: Good tour if you like history. It was a lot of talking, not much walking. I couldn’t really handle that with this heat…so had to leave. I recommend dividing it a bit more, a short talk and then walk again. The first hour we didn’t even leave the meeting area. Very friendly man though! Guess his name was Bruce, thank you for your time????
Fantastic experience: What a brilliant introduction to Brisbane. It was great to be part of a small group - we saw things we would never have found on our own. Charlie was full of interesting stories and facts. Highly recommended.
Fantastic experience: I love doing tours with Brisbane City Greeters! Did the Walter Taylor (aka The Indooroopilly Bridge) with Allison, a fantastic friendly and knowledgeable guide. City Greeters have access to places and really to get the best stories about our wonderful city. Am already planning my visits for next next year!!!
Fantastic experience: We spent a wonderful couple of hours exploring the city of Brisbane yesterday morning with Maggie. A small group of six which made it easy to hear all the information being given. We typically do a tour like this when we first land in a city to get a feel of the area and she did just that as well as learning some other fun facts you typically would not know just walking by a place. Highly recommend. It is a free service and the greeters do it out of their love for the city - you surely can't beat that. Thank you
