Happy Travels (Brisbane Quarters Desk)

Negative experience: I was booked into accommodation 2 hours by public transport outside of Brisbane cbd even though all my tours which were also booked through Happy Travels were in the cbd some of which started at 6.30am and I had no means to get to the tours. I contacted the support team and was told they couldn't do anything. Would really encourage anyone thinking of booking with happy travels to look elsewhere. **EDIT** Following conversations with Happy Travel and spending over 300 dollars in ubers and public transport to make my tours they gave me a goodwill gesture of 50 dollars. Given the premium that is paid to a travel agent to organise and book accommodation for you I was severely disappointed with the service and would strongly recommend to anything thinking of booking to save your money and use another travel agency.

Negative experience: I booked 18 days of travelling the east coast through happy travels (including accommodation) which all seemed great. Until half way through I realised that I had no accommodation for 2 nights. So I contacted them and they just gave me details to book accommodation myself else where, even when it should’ve been in the package!

Negative experience: Emailed them. Got no response.

Negative experience: I approached Kameron unknowing of what to book for my East coast trip. I was given the hard sell of a myriad of trips which were all unsuitable for myself and my partner living in a van. The trips he quoted me were significantly more than the cost to book them directly through the company, and with added extras that we didnt need like a night accomodation in a hostel. when we did our research and re-approached him, he gave us a discounted price. If you're booking a trip , please do your research, and I heavily suggest booking direct. The T&Cs with this company are not in your favour.

Fantastic experience: Edward was the one I talked with. He was super nice and easy to talk with! I ended up booking my entire east coast trip through him. Because he just knew way more than the other places I have been where I also talked about the east coast (peterpan and work and travel) he had also traveled the east coast 50+ times, and he had been guides on multiple tours up the east coast. And you could really feel he knew and had tried everything. And just burned for making the best trip for me! He took his time with me, which means he ended up staying extra hours, and held the shop open just for me (shop was supposed to close at 6 and I left at 7:30) , so I could finish all my questions! I ended up staying for around 5 hours. If I'm going to travel again, there is only one man I wanna talk with about my trips and that is Edward! I would highly recommend Happy Travels in Brisbane and specialy Edward! Best experience in any travel shop! And I have been traveling in Australia for more than 8 months!

Fantastic experience: Ed (store manager) is an absolute legend. Met him on our first day in Brisbane where he sorted us out with activities to do on our travels south to Sydney. He then gave me his contact details to organise my trip down from Cairns. After I sent him a quick message with a rough and slightly confusing plan, he sorted it all out in a few hours. Tours, dates, bus pass, timings all done on an itinerary. He even suggested hostels. A very personal experience making it easy to sort out my plans. Couldn’t have asked for more. I’ll always recommend Happy Travels Brisbane. 10/10 experience. Cheers

Fantastic experience: The guys helped us out so much with our farmwork we came into the store with a plan to go to a certain location for our farmwork and looking to book a way of getting there. They warned us off due to having done farmwork themselves and knowing its not a brilliant area for this. They went a step further giving us a few different numbers of farmers and contacts and places to look for farmwork. We managed to secure a really good farm further North the guys helped us book a hostel for our night stop over in Cairns and helped book our transport to the farm. so helpful if you're struggling for farmwork, looking for tours or need any advice while in Australia then nip in and visit these guys.Thanks team xx

Fantastic experience: So I just booked my East Coast with Harry and I wanted to leave a review. He was in the hostel at Nomads but he works in Happy Travels as well in the city. He spoke to us in the street randomly whilst at the bar. I came in with 4 friends, after he kindly messaged us all on Facebook and booked an appointment. We all wanted to do different things and we was a bit of nightmare for him to be honest. But he did really well. He took into account what we all wanted and how we were all different people. I did not want to party, so he booked me on all the things that were adventure based and more natural. My friends booked the party based. He planned my entire trip for me and now I have no stress! I have another appointment with him in 3 days to talk about NZ and I can't wait, he got us all very excited for our trip!

Fantastic experience: Thanks to Happy Travels! Me and my friend travelled down the eastcoast from Cairns to Sydney. On our stop in Brisbane we hopped into the happy travels office because we hadn't booked all our tours yet. Edward was very friendly and helpful. Fantastic experience: We came to happy travels looking to book a Fraser island tour+whitsunday tour, and were lucky to find Ed, who helped us so so much. He immediately got a calendar and a map, and slowly but surely built us a great travel plan according to the trip we were hoping to have. It was great to hear someone who is so knowledgeable and enthusiastic about traveling. We ended up booking three extra trips, including a dive at the great barrier reef. Fantastic experience: When I walked into the Happy Travels Brisbane Office, I was greeted by Ed. Before we talked about packages or what I should do, Ed first asked me what it was that I was looking to get out of my trip. I explained to him that I had a very limited time about (8days) left in Australia and that I wanted to try and fit in X,Y, and Z. He was more than happy to help plan not only one itinerary but a full second itinerary so that I could really feel confident in my choice. After about an hour we had fully booked my next 8 days worth of travel and now I am writing this review at the end of my trip. I can't thank Ed enough for the insight he provided. My trip has been a huge success and I honestly couldn't be happier. Another thing that I appreciated was that he took the time to explain to me what the better options were for the different activities (for instance the different boat tours for the Whitsundays and the different boat groups for the Great Barrier Reef). I'm so thankful he walked me through the options. I will most certainly be using Happy Travels again when I return to Australia in a few months.

We’ve spent 1,5 hours at happy travels, got a cappuccino for free and learned a lot about our east coast trip. Fantastic experience: I booked with Harry at the Brisbane store. He gave me some absolulty Stella advice about farm work, how to save money in Australia and just broke down all of the best places to see in a really clear way! He also gave me some insane discounts, just going above and beyond. He stayed behind an hour after his close time just to help me out that bit more, the guys over in Brisbane are really nice people!
