Negative experience: As many others that I have seen on this review, We had purchased flight tickets from them and have been following since last 3 almost 4 years to get a refund. We couldn't travel due to COVID and now it's been 3 years already and whenever I follow up with them, they reply saying the refund is in process or they are going to talk to account team. It should be a way we can get our money back, us and all the people that I have read in the same situation. Believe me don't trust this agency, it's rubbish, its irresponsible, they just play with you with the same answers it's been the worst experience! I really don't know how this type of agencies are still working! I am looking for all platforms to spread this awareness against this fraudulent agency.

Negative experience: Worst experience! Please do not trust this website! Have been emailing them since 2020 for a cancelled flight and they finally agreed to process my refund last year. It has been 10 months now and I still have not received any money. Every time I ask for an update, they say they’ll get back to me asap and then never reply back. Please return my money!

Negative experience: I had purchased flight tickets from them with and have been following since last 3 years to get a refund or at least a partial refund for my purchase. I couldn't travel due to COVID, and I understand businesses were affected, but now it's been 3 years already and whenever I follow up with them, they reply saying the refund is in process and they have been doing that for last 2 years. I reckon people to stay away from this agency at any cost. They are the worst! I am looking for all platforms to spread this awareness against this fraudulent agency.

Negative experience: Horrible staff and horrible service, they do not care about customers at all. My flight was canceled and when i ask for refund they reply - refund option not available. I asked Either refund the amount or book another flight to which they say not possible as per airlines policy. Never ever use their service.

Negative experience: 30+ emails for 1 flight. . Terrible and unreachable customer support. Even if they pick up your call, you can barely hear them. Call disconnects Automatically after few seconds and never expect a callback from them. Charged additional 440$ when airline charged none. Did nothing in the name of service fee Never booking again with direct flights.

Negative experience: The biggest nightmare I’ve ever had! Promised booking was canceled as “reservation is cancel as our supplier delay to re-issue your ticket” I am supposed to be leaving on Friday with my family, but seems to be this is not going to happen. Phone line is useless - from last 6 months never ever been able to get to operator. Payment fee for booking collected and I am stranded without any support. Base on urgency I’ve decided to visit their office. Guess what? It’s closed. Starting to have a feeling we are getting scammed Don’t trust them

Negative experience: This company stole my money as the did not give me the refund because of Covid cancellation. The money was about 1000 AUD. However the recieved the money from the airline, they did not pay me. I do not recommend this company at all.

Negative experience: Do not use direct flights! We are still waiting on a refund/credit for our emirates flights booked through direct flights for a trip in April 2020. It is now almost two years since that. We booked two sets of flights for a trip on sky scanner, one agent (not direct flights) refunded within months of the flights being cancelled due to covid. Direct flights have constantly came up with a problem as to why we can’t get our refund (a total of almost $6000) and they have not responded to our most recent calls/emails. I know everyone who lost flights at that time (2020) got full refunds from emirates (the airline) if they booked directly so direct flights should have our emirates money. The fact that it has taken this long indicates they have no intention of giving it back and it is just being used to keep their admin/company going. We are currently seeking legal action on this. However in the meantime I would like to warn anyone off booking with them.

Negative experience: We, my husband and I, purchased two airfare tickets with Singapore airlines via Direct Flights in September 2019 and due to Covid restriction we were unable to travel. In May 2020 we contacted Direct Flights requesting for a cancellation and refund for our tickets. In October 2021 staff from Direct Flights informed us via email that they had received refund from Singapore Airlines for our two tickets however we had to be put on the waiting list. It is now more than 3 months and we sent them several emails to follow up with their refund process but the answer we kept receiving was either "Refund Procedure is a Too long procedure..." or "Your refund is in the queue. And escalated to Accounts team.." On 22/12/2021 we sent an email directly to their account department and still have no reply!! We've contacted NSW Fair Trading and will certainly take our steps to deal with this matter however this is a very bad experience we had with Direct Flights. We will never use their service again in future and would alert our friends the problems we had with them and we would not recommend Direct Flights to anyone.

Negative experience: Pros Quick response. Cons - Don't have fair and consumer friendly terms and conditions - Charge too much fee even when the consumer is not at fault - They're charging hefty fee and charges for processing the refunds of the flights that got cancelled by the airline due to COVID. I'll have to part away with approximately $422 if I go ahead with refund or rescheduling the flight.

Positive experience: Like others, we had a smooth booking experience. When we finally decided to cancel out flights due to the Covid pandemic, we were told to wait 3-4 months for the refund. We waited a lot longer than that and sent emails to check in regularly. To Direct Flight’s credit, they always responded to our emails courteously during an obviously tough time for travel. We did become impatient and almost gave up when out of the blue we received an email to say that our refund was coming through and it arrived in our account a couple of days later. Hang in there if you’re waiting for a refund, it should come! Thank you to Direct Flights for staying true to your word.

Negative experience: THIS SERVICE SHOULD BE AVOIDED AT ALL COSTS. They have been stringing me along for 8 months so far with "our accounts team will process refund soon" and still nothing. They are been reported and hopefully license pulled and fines issued! STAY AWAY!

Positive experience: Summary: Good enough online flight booking system. Will book again once safe to do so. Flights were booked to the States in Feburary of 2020 for January 2021. Kept in contact with them during the outbreak. I eventually made the call to cancel the flight in late November of 2020. DirectFlights told me up front that the waiting period will be at least 3-4 months before the refund may happen. I waited. I emailed at least once a week to get the status after the waiting period . Once Qantas refunded the money to them, I emailed more frequently to get a status as to the final status to my account. I would suggest better communication as to what position in the queue my refund was in so that I can have confidence with the progress being made.

Positive experience: I booked flights to the UK through Direct Flights but they were cancelled by the airline due to Covid. Despite being promised a refund it took nine months, persistent emails and efforts, before I was finally refunded (minus DF's $365 fees). However, at least they answered my emails and eventually refunded the money, unlike Lastminute.com, which would only give credit and should not be allowed to trade.

Fantastic experience: I booked a flight from 29/2/2020 through direct flights, and due to covid pandemic it got cancelled. My stopped flying to my destination so I had to buy another ticket and hope I got a refund. I applied for a refund the 3rd of June, and after waiting the stated process period I contacted direct flights every months to know the state of my refund. I got a reply every time within hours or a day or two stating that my refund is still being processed and due to the large amount of requests it will take some more time - just as one would expect in a time where at least 90% of flights worldwide where cancelled. Finally, a couple of weeks ago when asking for my refund I was told, it got to the accounting department and it would take 10 to 14 business days to be applied to my credit card and finally it did! So thank you Direct Flights, it's been as good as it could have been to go through this with you.

Negative experience: They took over 14 months to refund my ticket due to Covid and they only refunded 20% of my ticket. Every time i requested for information they said they had to contact their account department and evaded fixing the issue. I will never book with them ever again and will not recommend them to any one.

Positive experience: I have finally received my refund for a business class international flight booked in December 2019 for travel in August 2020. Whilst I feel this was an excessively long time to wait, the customer support team and consultants at Direct Flights have always been responsive and polite in all my communications, even when I have from time to time become a bit impatient. I am sure it must have been challenging in their sector with the collapse of air travel, so all credit to them for keeping going and my thanks for their commitment and the positive outcome.

Fantastic experience: I held flights with Emirates through Direct Flights, and like many people, had the flights cancelled with COVID boarder closures. I applied for refunds and was worried I would ever see the money again. It did take some time, but Direct Flights answered all my emails promptly and kept me abreast of developments and the progress of my claim. Direct Flight's staff responded promptly and professionally and I am pleased to report the funds have been credited to my account with minimal charges. I feel confident in booking with Direct Flights in the future.

I booked 2 tickets to Greece ( on line) and due to Covid 19 Australians couldn't fly out they were very helpful in returning my money.They picked up the phone every time I called them and answered all my questions. Fantastic experience: I booked flight tickets through direct flights which had to be cancelled due to Covid-19 subsequently. they were absolutely outstanding in managing the refund. Although it took a while to eventually get my money back, it is safe to say that the delays were caused by the airline whilst direct flights staff responded within hours to every email and kept me updated throughout the entire process. I will certainly book with them again in the future.

Positive experience: In April 2020 our business class return trip to Switzerland through Direct Flights was cancelled in March due to Coronavirus. Mid March 2020, I began a lengthy series of emails and phone calls with Direct Flights seeking a refund of the $11708 we paid. I found the lengthy delays frustrating and exhausting. However, thankfully today on 9 January 2021 we received $11378 refund in our bank account. I note that they only retained $330 fees from the total we paid and I think they earned every cent of that $330. To give credit to Direct Flights many staff, I was always spoken to by highly professional and polite staff. All of my phone calls were followed up with an email confirming our conversation and although the whole process was very long, the staff did keep me informed as to the progress of our request for a refund. I acknowledge the difficulty for the travel industry at present and wish to thank Direct Flights for their assistance in the process of obtaining the refund from Qantas and returning the money to me.

Negative experience: They charge flight cancellation fee even the cancellation was made by the airline itself. I have spoken to airline directly they told me they refund 100% charges to their clients. It seems Direct flights is making money out of a global pandemic. They have agreed to refund me since June 2020, it has been 6 months I still have not received any refund. I would not recommend anyone using their service. I have been trying to call them for a follow up however no one has answered the call.

Negative experience: Do not trust or use this company. Buyer beware, I changed my flight due to covid and they charged me a fee, fair enough, however the fare was downgraded from first class to business class and I was told I would get a refund for the difference, 6 weeks on still no refund and they can't tell me how much refund I can expect. I then recieve an emails stating they still don't know how much BUT if / when if does get refunded they will charge another fee??? I was shocked to say the least, to take money to change the booking and then more money just to recieve the fare difference. This is clearly double dipping and clearly extortion

Negative experience: My scheduled flight from Australia to USA in May, 2020 was cancelled due global covid lock down. However the travel agent kept denying the full refund they had received from Australia Qantas airline for a few months. AND on top of this lying, overcharged me around 8% of the total amount I paid for the service I never received. Dishonest and greedy travel agent. Suggest not using their service UNLESS have no other choice.

Fantastic experience: We booked two sets of business class tickets with DF for travel in March and August 2020. Unfortunately covid struck and our flights were cancelled. DF assisted us in getting full refunds back from the airlines, which was a lot of money. The processing time (an airline issue was about 8-10 weeks). Given this great service in bad times, we will use DF again in good times ahead!

Negative experience: I am not too surprised to read so many negative reviews and it is time for Direct Flights management to take note and to address the concerns from their customers. As for my experience, its staff responded to my enquiries reasonably promptly. However, it took them a long time to refund my air fares compared with my 3 friends who booked their tickets through Flight Centre with the same itineraries (going to Israel). I had to chase them many times for the refund. When the refund came finally, a fee of $210 was deducted from my full fare (administration charges and credit card charges). My three friends who booked through Flight Centre received full refund without any fees. I would recommend that you book through Flight Centre for your future air flight. I definitely would recommend my family members and friends to do so.

Negative experience: Terrible. Generic responses to my inquiries about covid cancellations. Took hours on each occasion to contact them by phone and then received generic responses. On top of that they took a $110 administration fee despite the airline giving a full refund. The wait for a refund was over 6 months.... i only obtained a refund once i engaged my credit card provider to lodge a charge back about 5 months in. Obviously then they realised they could not hold onto my money and they wanted to obtain their 'administration' fee and this they made an effort to process my refund. Disgraceful. Will never use again.

Negative experience: Zero stars. Shocking service, had to hassle and hassle to get answers. Answers were difficult to comprehend, unrelated to our questions, titled to a completely different person or full of lies. They tried ripping us off so went directly through Emirates to get answers first so this company couldn’t make things up thinking they could get away with it. Positive experience: Like many others, my 2020 travel plans were affected by the coronavirus pandemic. I requested for a refund in March 2020 (start of lockdown when it was obvious there was going to be no global travel for the rest of the year), and not airline credit. They gave me a timeline of 14 weeks to receive my refund, and made it very clear that I was not going to receive the full amount back due to cancellation fees etc. It is now 28 August 2020 and I have finally received notification that my refund has been processed and is now on it's way. I very much appreciate DirectFlights for their prompt responses to my queries about the cancellation and refunds. I was convinced I was never going to see this money again, but they did pull through. I would recommend DirectFlights as a reliable agency for future travel plans.

Positive experience: The staff at Direct Flights were extremely helpful and very patient in securing our deposit for our cancelled flights. While the length of time from cancelling the flight to receiving the refund was considerable as soon as the airline reimbursed Direct Flights the funds were in our bank account in 72 hours. Negative experience: I don't normally write reviews but have had a terrible experience dealing with Direct Flights in trying to get a refund for my Qantas flights to South Africa after the border was closed. I have been requesting refund as have almost $8000 I have given Direct Flights which is desperately needed and I have paid for no service and not heard anything back from Direct Flights after emailing multiple times. Negative experience: DIRECT FRAUD I bought a flight ticket to Europe from Direct Flights website. I paid more than $1400. It has been 5 months (20 weeks) since my flight is cancelled. Direct Flights are not willing to refund my money back. I have been emailed them many many times but they are just stalling. This is a ‘Direct Fraud’. I will never ever buy anything from this company again.

Negative experience: An joke of a company. Incredibly difficult to deal with. I have tried to cancel my flight and get a refund due to covid. The original price for a refund was $77 and now they have magically changed it to $110. They are also not promising a full refund, which means they can then take off whatever amount they please. I will NEVER use this service again and be very careful when booking flights through a middle man. Direct Flights has provided the same experience to a few of my friends, terrible service and crooks.

Negative experience: I echo some of the sentiments shared. The prices are competitive to start with and normally that would be it. But even the slightest anomaly and the resolution process is excruciating. I booked a ticket for my parents with my card, no disclaimer or warning was prompted at the time of booking. A few hours later a dodgy looking email came that I needed to upload 8 identity documents (these had my photo, address and signature) along with a recent portrait photo and my card details. Who on earth needs all this to verify a purchase. I refused to share these details and sent them an email. After a lengthy dialogue they sent me the tickets when I sent them my passport copy. Now I need to modify my booking but their portal doesn't help with this and their phone lines keep dropping me off. Pathetic service.

Negative experience: this company doesn't exist. DO NOT GIVE YOUR MONEY TO THEM. IT IS A SCAM. So poor in customer support. My flight got cancelled without giving an option and I did try to contact these guys. no response and solution for the last 24 hours. so irresponsible. and the cancelled flight is still listed on the website for new booking. I am sure they are cancelling the old bookings and taking new to get make the last-minute bargain and profit. Never book your flight with these guys.

Negative experience: My booking with Direct Flights (via SkyScanner) was a nightmare. I paid my $A7,400 for the tickets. This amount was taken promptly from my account. I then received a phone call on a bad line from a person I couldn't understand, wanting me to put my credit account details online to Direct Flights so they could 'verify' the transaction. An exchange of emails followed in which the 'verification' request was repeated a number of times, at one stage with the justification that Direct Flight's 'gateway partner' suspected fraud. By this stage I had replied to one of Direct Flight's emails with a screen shot of my transaction, minus any identifying details. I was still directed to put my details online via a link. When I followed the link, it directed me to upload a selfie, my passport & card details & something else which I now forget. When I emailed that I would under no circumstances respond to anything requiring me to upload a selfie, Direct Flight's final email told me that the e-ticket 'has been shared already', despite my e-tickets having already been sent. I had meanwhile been in touch with Qantas, who verified that my ticket sale was genuine. I was & am still concerned about the possibility of a scam & hacking, due to this situation. Avoid Direct Flights!

Fantastic experience: Brilliant. Within a few hours of booking I have my confirmation, my tickets and through the airline app have chosen seats. Yes this requires a little bit of extra work to be performed with the identity check, but all up I saved $1400 On 2 return business flights so it was worth 10min of ID validation for me.

Positive experience: Despite the ID verification process which was initially concerning the service was top class and the booking process was entirely legitimate. We needed to cancel our booking and Direct Flights were incredibly helpful with arranging and issuing a refund that same night at around 11:30pm. If you can get past the intrusive verification process it is well worth managing your bookings through Direct Flights.

Negative experience: Very bad service, please don’t use this website. It will give you more stress and cost you more money . I booked tickets for my family . 1 passenger didn’t have family name name , only single name . I rang to direct flights’s customer care before finalising the booking they advised to put ‘ LNU’ last name unknown while booking . I did that . Got tickets then it was advised by them it’s wrong you should have put Ms instead of ‘LNU’ . I sent too many emails and calls to listen the conversation over the phone , I did what I was told to do by there representative but still no solution. Direct flights wanted to me to cancel the ticket ( pay cancellation fee around $275, wait for refund for 4 weeks and re book the tickets ) , lucky I spoke to Singapore airline senior management direct and they sorted it out. Singapore airline told me that direct flights could be easily do amendment from their portal without costing anything but they wanted to make more money through cancellation and rebooking .If any one with single name don’t book tickets with direct flights . There’s staff is not well trained and they don’t admit there mistakes.

Positive experience: There online search and booking site is easy and efficient, although they need to sort out the verification requests which is extremely invasive. I wouldn't be comfortable handing the requested information out to a trusted airline. The experience went from fast and effective, to time consuming and insidious

Positive experience: The customer support is fantastic. The website is a little confusing! I had omitted to enter my passport details (they were shown as optional items) so I needed help to complete the booking. The online help operative was excellent and the matter was resolved promptly. If they improve the workflow on the website, I'd give them a 5 out of 5!!

Negative experience: I normally do not post reviews. However my family had an incredibly negative experience with this booking platform. We booked a flight for my daughter last Monday and received a confirmation email. The next day, my daughter saw a flagged email in her spam folder titled "VERIFICATION REQUEST" which looked dodgy to us so we did not click the link and instead called them directly. They told us that her flight from Mumbai to Goa was no longer booked and we need to pay a fee of $285. When asked to explain their reasoning they said we didn't click the link. We weren't told anything further. My daughter was on the phone with them for over an hour and the lady she was talking to was sympathetic and managed to get the price down to $108. The lady then said that she managed to get the price so low because she took out the companies profit margin from the flight - which is ridiculous considering that we were given less than 24hrs to respond to this email (which looked dodgy in the first place, and we were asleep) and no attempts were made to call my daughter over the phone. Their website had no disclaimers or information stating that we will need to complete verification. The only options we were given was to pay the $108 or to cancel our whole booking. Which would have meant waiting for the money to be refunded and having to find another flight on short notice. My daughter was then asked for my husbands ID. Nobody explained why they needed it they just said "security purposes". Once again, after another long phone call they finally explained that they needed the card holders ID. I was the cardholder!! So we sent them a copy of my ID which they then responded by saying they need my daughters ID before they can process the booking. I'm now worried I sent our information to a scam artist! This was at 9am this morning and our "great price" was expiring at 10am. Honestly, this entire experience felt like a scam. I deeply regret booking here in the first place. This company is unprofessional and extortionate. It is completely unreasonable to expect your customers to click a verification link from a dodgy looking email without any notes or information on the website. Had they prompted us to upload an ID during the booking process we would have done so, instead they charged us more money. Including a second transaction fee which they told us wouldn't be applied. We have to call them again now because we are still waiting on written confirmation that the flight is booked and ready. Never again will I make the mistake of booking with Direct flights. I wanted to edit to add the icing on the cake, my daughter just called (9:25am) and was told they can't open the verification documents so her flight is still pending. They then HUNG UP ON HER. So we're on hold again!

Negative experience: First time I was very stressed in my life when I did an urgent booking to attend a funeral. The first booking was cancelled. Very hard to get someone to talk to. Although we were able to leave the day earlier but I was very upset and unhappy. I will never book with you again. Thank you.

Negative experience: This is the first one star review I have every given. Direct Flights charges for every little thing. Please make sure you look at the fine print before booking. For example, we made a small mistake and had to change our name by one letter - Direct Flights charges $250 for that on top of the airline charge. In addition we booked for five people, but they put one person on a different ticket - meaning we would be sitting in separate places. I will never use Direct Flights again - it's so much easier booking through the airlines themselves.

Negative experience: This guys are fraud. Very terrible customer service after sales. They will stop answering you calls if you have any questions after bookings. They keep telling you to contact Airlines. Never ever book the ticket with them. Please avoid. Initially they are cheap but very expensive after booking. They will not refund. Their call center is overseas. They are not local.

Negative experience: I booked an online.flight with them on Vietnam Airlines business class Sydney to London return Vietnam Airlines offer a stop.off on the way home due to tine between flights which require a day Visa I accepted the flights offered by this travel agency not.knowing there were.specific rules relevant.to flights and.times needed to qualify for this Visa. I found out after talking g.tonthe airline that the flight offered to me by direct flight and booked and paid for by me did not comply and.to call them as there was no discharge to change the flight. I called this pack of thieves who.immediately tried to charge me $560 and.then reduced it.to $155. Absolute pack of thieves I have reported to the airline and am lodging a complaint with at Department.of FIr Trade. Dont.expect service from.them

Fantastic experience: I was a bit concerned, but everything has gone smoothly so far. I booked online and was emailed a confirmation the next day. I was also able to log on to the airline’s website directly and confirm the flight was there, and all the details were correct

Positive experience: I have purchased my ticket and travel insurance through Direct Flights. My e ticket had been issued but I have not received my travel insurance policy yet! I would use your service again but maybe not your travel insurance as it has taken too long for the issuance of it!

Negative experience: Disappointing : This was my first experience with direct flights and it was very disappointing. Very poor customer service. I have emailed and called them a thousand times. They had very poor response. I booked a ticket to India and due to a genuine reason, I had to cancel my ticket. According to the terms and conditions of direct flight, refund on cancellation of tickets was possible and when I asked for it, they were like, they can't do it because it was a cheaper ticket. As an international student, I had a huge loss . I asked for a change in return ticket dates. They were initially ok and send me another return ticket which was available. I asked them for the rate and they didn't reply for 3 days. I called them all the 3 days and they said they will email me today. I didn't receive any email till evening and when I called them, they said that the ticket was not available. Such an irresponsiblility. They should have shown a minimum manners to atleast email me if it was not possible. They made me wait for 3 days, refused to give proper response and got negative result.

Fantastic experience: DF offered the flights for our European at a competitive price , not a crazy price but competitive . site was easy apart from it appearing to put my wife's first and second christian names in reverse order so I called them up . Seems its a bit of a glitch with me or the site ! Response was fine , quick and courteous and I got confirmation within an hour .

Fantastic experience: Easy to book, competitive pricing and multiple options to pay. Particularly like the customer support team. I had almost completed my booking when the payment page showed an error message. I immediately used the chat now and a friendly customer support officer helped me with my booking. The team kept in touch regularly and updated me when the EFT was received and I received my e tickets just a day after payment. I'll be using direct flight booking for all my future travels. Highly recommended.

Negative experience: Worst experience.. Booked ticket but than got email provide screenshot and Id.i give them screen shot But than they said as u didn't give id. Ticket is cancelled and than they said it's not cancelled it's gone higher in price..for which I said I don't. Want to go ahead with higher price .please refund They said we r sending to account department..bad when I try to call them it's keep on hold and than hang up... Can't even talk with them.. still waiting for refund

Negative experience: Worst ever booking site. When i was going through to book my flights, the page was not going past the "confirm passenger details". Absolute ridiculous and their customer service is horrendous, no one is going to wait hours on the phone for a horrible experience. Reporting this website to the ACCC and the ombudsman.

Negative experience: Worst service I experienced in my life. Poor communication. Deceitful web-site that doesn't show real airlines involved in the trip. Cancelled my order in less than 20 minutes. After many promises to refund in full, no any refund for more than a month. My expenses were almost $6000. I am now expecting to receive refund with at least $600 penalties because of their website. However, even this unfair refund is not provided to me. Unless you want to have the same experience, stay away.
