Fantastic experience: Thank you so much to Ram Poudel at Flight Centre (Canberra) for his kindness and effort in helping us to resolve a difficult situation with Batik Air. Ram booked our travel from Canberra to Bali and when Batik Air cancelled our flights, he made what we anticipated might be a difficult process extremely straightforward. We rebooked flights with another airline and Ram organised a swift refund of our Batik Air fares. We felt very supported at a stressful time. We really appreciate that Ram and Flight Centre did this without any financial incentive; just the motivation to provide high quality customer care.

Negative experience: We had a meeting with Nancy & left with the good feeling ab her customer service. However she produced a quote that did not reflect our conversation, price was a lot steeper & terms of payment were very different. Also produced only half quote. When I rejected quote & stated my reasons Nancy came back with a very unprofessional bordering on rude reply still quoting ‘facts’ that were not true. Therefore will not ever be back & not recommend this centre to anyone. It’s not that hard to say ‘sorry I missed the other part of the quote due to being very busy’ instead of inventing conversations & blaming customers for not communicating their requests (which were firmly made). Maybe writing it down would help her remember. We have gone somewhere else now & got a much better service & price.

Fantastic experience: Nancy was the most amazing travel agent a person could ask for. She always made time to fit us in for an appointment, regardless of how small the issue was. As an inexperienced traveller, she was willing to answer all my questions, regardless of how trivial or pedantic they were. All documents were printed and given to us at our last visit, as well as how to contact for help if needed. She gave us other handy hints for ensuring access to tickets purchased. She was able to help and reassure us in so many ways. I cannot recommend Nancy high enough. We leave for the Mediterranean in two days and I'm feeling confident she has covered everything. We have recently returned from our amazing trip and I would like to acknowledge and thank Nancy for all her help and support through our travel process. He was a gem and took me in without an appointment while the woden fc turned me away with such negativity saying they dont have appointements anywhere in canberra. I called canberra center fc and ram picked up and straight away made time for me and showed amazing customer service qualities and got my booking done in a jiff! While their prices are always competitive, within about 5% of the lowest I can find, it's their unparalleled support and customer service that truly sets them apart. The real value in choosing Flight Centre, and why I'll continue to do so, lies in their incredible ability to navigate the often challenging demands commercial airlines place on individual travelers. A perfect illustration of this came during my travels with LATAM to South America. The airline tried to reschedule my flight three times, pushing for a less convenient itinerary purely for their benefit. Left to my own devices when flying privately—unlike the business travel arranged by my company—I found myself battling these common issues alone. However, all it took was forwarding an email to Harry Cotter at Flight Centre. Fantastic experience: Awesome staff, extremely helpful and very professional

Negative experience: I booked a return flight from CBR to MEL return in person at Flight Centre Canberra Centre on Sat 17 Feb 24. My outward flight left the following Fri 23 Feb 24. I received confirmation emails, including itinerary and invoice, from Flight Centre. Upon checking in with airline staff, I was told that they only had my booking for my return flight….they had no booking for me on the outward flight. They advised me to call Flight Centre, which I did, but each time I called the phone rang out. I had to rebook a flight direct with the carrier in order to maintain my scheduled meetings. The irony here is that I paid for a portion of this booking with Flight Centre with a gift card issued by Flight Centre customer service to me as compensation for theiir botching my last booking with them. Strongly would not recommend.

Negative experience: Wouldn’t even give a one star rating. Myself and my partner came in on Saturday to have some guidance in booking flights for a Europe trip next year. We stood around for 10 minutes with no acknowledgment. Finally someone came from out the back, Ram. We sat down, said the dates and location we would like to fly into/out of. He kept hesitating and basically laughing at us (smirking, felt judged). We wanted to see where it would be cheaper to fly out of Aus (Melbourne, Adelaide, Sydney, Brisbane) to get to London. He told us he really needs an exact location, but we told him London is our destination? We wanted to see what was cheaper? He did not want to sell us a holiday, he didn’t want to help and was clearly judging us. Probably because we are two young girls honestly. When we saw that one earring should’ve known it was a red flag and walked out.

Fantastic experience: Easy to navigate site simple go to site to book flights!

Negative experience: I was on hold with their emergency line at a foreign airport for more than 30 minutes unable to check in for my flight. This was after confirming with Flight Centre multiple times that my flights and seats were all good (booked with an agent in store). Yes I had purchased the captain's package thing. Even after talking with the emergency line the issue couldn't be resolved and it was only the airline staff taking pity on me that got me on the flight home from Doha.

Negative experience: Terrible experience I was told that I needed to make an appointment to get into see a travel agent since when do you need to book into see a travel agent used to be able to walk in at your own free will and sit down with an agent. Told there was only one agent and another working that afternoon where first agent was with a client the second travel agent no where to be found i'm in an urgency to try and book flights for a holiday was not helpful at all took my business to hello word travel where I was helped by two travel agents Two agents Piss Poor Performance flight centre.

Negative experience: Flight Centre Civic was closed by 4:30pm today despite the opening time on google saying it closed at 5:30pm. No possible option of calling a help desk because they leave you on hold for an hour. Edit: to clarify, this was on Friday 14 May 2023.

Negative experience: Flight Centre Canberra Centre Manager is rude, treats his customers and employees badly and not transparent in financial dealings. He kept shouting from the moment we stepped in, saying he can’t talk as we don’t have an appointment. When we questioned about a refund they owe us, he dobbed in his employee who did our booking and was away that day. When I said you need to hear out the situation as the store manager, he went wild and was extremely rude and asked us to leave the shop. He clearly has anger issues and not fit for running a business or engaging with anyone professionally.

Negative experience: Attended yesterday unaware that you now need an appointment to talk to a consultant. I was conversing with a female travel agent when I was interrupted, spoken over and spoken down to by an aggressive male who I can only assume is the manager or thinks he is. He asked me “would you turn up to your doctors without an appointment?”. Hmmm, the fact that you’re a travel agency in a shopping centre seeking business is a little different to a medical doctor. Anyway, a truly horrible experience which left upset me all day. Flight Centre used to be great but I shall never return and will advise others of this encounter so they are not subjected to this type of treatment. By the way I did actually ring the store before attending but the call just rings out so you can’t even make an appointment if you wanted to. If I could give zero stars I would

Negative experience: 2 middle aged men staff were not helpful today at 2.30 pm Saturday 4 Marcch 2023. No one picked up phone after many calls for me to make an appointment, then I walked in to store waited 30 mins to make an appointment for travel insurance purchase. I know what insurance I need it and told them it would take 5 mins plus 5 mins to pay as I need store staff to process gift cards. They told me to come back. I said ok, but asked for appointments over the phone in lieu of face to face but they wouldn’t agree quoting they can’t take phone call as not having enough staff! What? Talk to me on the phone in my allocated appointment time. Then they said no no face to face is available til next Wednesday, Explained my gift cards expiring on Monday but they said they couldn’t help. Couldn’t give me a number to call and said never heard of gift cards can be extended due to them not having staff to process it. Stop selling gift cards then.

Negative experience: Absolutely the worst service ever! The place has no service delivery standards. Booked a trip for sister to travel to Cairns. Paid the money and was advised that would be receiving all e-tickets and trip vouchers 1 week before travel. It’s now 2 days before travel, and we have received nothing. No one responds to emails. No one picks up the phone. All we get is an automated message to book an appointment. Very frustrating and disappointing. Giving 1 star because there’s no option to give 0!

Negative experience: Been trying to call for over an hour, as you can’t turn up without an appointment. Well how are you meant to book an appointment when you don’t answer your phone. Poor service.

Negative experience: Store never answers the phone, did not receive itinerary so had to go in day before our flights, trundle bed wasn’t organised for our kid at the hotel, we requested a private car to take us to and from the hotel but only got a airport shuttle, on the way back this wasn’t even booked properly so had to get a last minute taxi to ensure we got our flights - the emergency contact to ask where our ride was wasn’t helpful. we paid for morning breakfast at the hotel even though the booked tours overlapped the said meal times meaning we missed out on them, one tour was incorrectly booked. The agent didn’t get back to us half the time so we had to sort out everything in store with another staff member to add to the stress. So far Flight Centre corporate hasn’t been to helpful either. The trip was wonderful but never again will we use this company.

Negative experience: Terrible experience, it was one guy only in the store, he did not have clients and was doing nothing. I came in and ask him, I would like to know the price for specific flight and he reply was I can not give you anything unless you have a booking, then I ask I am coming from Sydney then he answered go to Sydney and talk with people in Sydney. Then in my mind I thought this person is useless for customer service, if you are alone doing nothing why don't try to give a great image of the company. Flight center used to be much better than this.

Fantastic experience: Justin was absolutely fantastic at assisting me plan my European 'trip of a lifetime'. His professionalism, attention to detail and personal experience of many European destinations was really valuable. He took the time to listen to me and what I was after to come up with an amazing itinerary with lots of suggestions I would never have thought to include. I can highly recommend him as a travel agent who is responsive, very easy to deal with and someone who provides excellent customer service.

Negative experience: This is a review from someone who usually organises their own bookings. Flight centre doesnt help you in any way. Our route was cancelled due to Tiger air cancelling the route, flight centre shoved us on the nearest available virgin flight and called it a day. Lost 3 hours of flight time because of that. We were delayed at the airport because of Virgin, lost another 3 hours again. Flight centre doesnt give any help. I wonder why anyone would need to purchase their flights and accommodation through them when most can do it better by themselves through skyscanner.

Negative experience: I had very bad experience with Abigail. She mislead me after I purchased family air tickets few weeks back. This agency insisted me to cancel and re-book family tickets and pay $1500 because according to them, I don't have the name on passport. The solution they provided was misleading and they were trying to make financial benefit by reselling same tickets to us. I had to go passport office but my travel documents were are correct. Easy fix was there but Abi excluded the option. By the way they were wrong at first place. My recommendation is if you value your money, there are many agencies and online facilities to book air fares. Never go to Flight centres and Canberra city in particular.

Negative experience: So disappointed! My partner and I pre-booked Rydges on Swanston in Melbourne for 30 & 31 December 2017. We had just checked into the hotel on 30 Dec and then received a call that my Nana had passed away very unexpectedly. We told the hotel reception immediately and then checked out an hour later when we had organised a flight home to be with my family. I also rang Flight Centre Canberra City Centre to let them know and asked if there’s anything they can do to organise a refund for the night of 31 Dec. Although we didn’t stay the night of 30 Dec, we used the shower so I offered to pay for the first night as I understand cleaning was required. After having to continuously follow up my refund query, and receiving different excuses back from Flight Centre, I discovered they had not contacted the hotel until 5 January when I called them again to follow up my query. Another week later, after following up with them multiple times again, they told me I had to contact the hotel myself because they didn’t know we checked out early. I called the hotel and they have very clear notes on our booking that we checked out early and the reason. Rydges said that if Flight Centre had confirmed our departure at the time we checked out they could have given us a refund. But because it had been a few weeks now they can’t. I called back flight centre and waited for another 2 weeks to get a response - they have refused to refund us any money. I am so disappointed! We will NEVER use any Flight Centre EVER again!
