Occasionally, we face challenges managing immediate requests due to the virtual queue, which includes customers waiting for appointments, post-appointment follow-ups, scheduling maintenance, and handling email inquiries. In this case, it sounds like they would have been working on these bookings prior to closing. Regardless, we are sorry you feel this way. If you can make an appointment to visit your local store, we'd highly recommend this, so you can have a dedicated sit down with a consultant to help take care of your trip.
Fantastic experience: The assistance of this branch is first rate. We have used a couple of consultants there, more recently Ollie for our last couple of trips. He has been unbelievably helpful and responsive over the last week putting together some flights for myself and my daughter to get to Japan. Had to be to a specific airport as well. Was all managed via email as I was in meetings all day and he simply made it all work with no fuss, no stress and at the best price possible for a 1 stop trip. Highly recommend the team and Ollie in particular!

Fantastic experience: I went to Spain and Portugal on a Trafalgar tour in October I dealt with Trina, who was recommended by my neighbours. As I was going on my own, I was a bit nervous but soon put at ease by Trina. She was so clear with all her advice. She also organised a lovely apartment for me in Paris after the tour.. Best advice was ,check your departure gates as soon as you check in. A friendly ,professional team member is Trina. Tour was great as well.

Fantastic experience: The staff here have been super friendly and helpful. In particular Trina who has been helping us plan for our trip. It's our first time overseas and we were a bit lost in finding accomodation and she sat down with us and found the perfect spots that were both in our budget and what we were looking for. She also helped us find great deals on flights and really worked within our budget. Her advice has been incredibly helpful and she is always wanting to help which is sooo much appreciated. Trina really takes her time to care for you and we can't thank her enough for all her help and advice in planning our trip!

Fantastic experience: Gemma from Flight Centre Southland, did an amazing job putting my Intrepid Tour of North Island & South Island together with Insurance and Accommodation. Fantastic experience: I'd like to start with Dean Marshall, who put together what was one of the most memorable times of our lives (plus we got married in Vegas by Elvis!!). Dean listened to us and what we wanted, and translated it into a package that worked and flowed seamlessly. He checked in and informed us the entire way which resulted in all aspects of our trip to be the best possible experience that we could have hoped for. Thanks Dean. We will be back!

Fantastic experience: Sincere thanks to Trina, she made the planning of my recent Europe trip so straightforward and I was instantly feeling organised, reassured and able to ask any question I had about a long flight plan, as well as my trip itself! She’s clearly an experienced traveller as well as travel agent and was always focused on helping me have the best holiday. She also helped me choose the best and most comfortable and suitable airline. We had some nice chats and most importantly she helped me day after day, multiple times per week at the end of the work day, as if it was before lunch. Fantastic experience: I recently booked a trip to Japan with my family through Flight Centre Southland and specifically used travel agent Gemma Sergeant. I can’t recommend this branch or Gemma highly enough. She greatly assisted with all flights, travel insurance and specific tips/knowledge to make our trip more enjoyable. Fantastic experience: Sean organised a four week holiday to South America for us on extremely short notice, I spoke to two other travel agents who both said they needed six weeks notice but it wasn't a problem for Sean, he got it sorted. Fantastic experience: I was here yesterday after many years of not traveling to plan a slightly lengthy trip to Finland. Sarah was very welcoming and understanding of my needs and found an incredible deal for me that didn't cost me anywhere near the amounts I was getting when I looked into tickets myself. She was very thorough in making sure I was properly covered for each individual flight, even checked reviews and demos to make sure I wasn't getting ripped off. Can't ask for better service than that, very happy with Sarah! They're very busy for weekends, so if you're working full time and can only come on a weekend, call ahead and make an appointment first, you'll need it. Thanks again, Sarah, you're amazing! Fantastic experience: I used to enjoy planning and booking our holidays. Not so now. When I tried to book our recent trip to NYC I found it difficult to cost and secure flights and keep track of changes to flight schedules. Doubting I could bring together all of the elements I wanted in the holiday, I went to Flight Centre @ Southland. I met Sean, a travel consultant who gained my confidence by providing me with an honest and accurate costing of our trip. Knowing we could afford the basic spend, Sean gave us options for upgrades to our accommodation and other enhancements to make our trip a little more luxurious. Overall, we made numerous changes to our itinerary, and Sean remained calm and patient throughout. He always followed up within a reasonable time frame despite being busy. I am writing this review because I am so relieved to have found a travel agent I can trust. Thanks Sean.

Negative experience: Staff didn't give any options and asked customers to so research and come. We have been to another flight centre before and the staff were very helpful.

Negative experience: Very bad experience at this store. Communication deplorable and no accountability with a mix of wrong travel advice. Wouldn’t go back or for that matter book again with Flight Centre. No need to respond to this as it has been raised with customer relations. If there was an option to give 0 stars I would.

Negative experience: This has nothing to do with the staff it is with Flight Centre. I have used Flight Centre in the past as it is a one stop shop (well meant to be) i booked a flight and travel insurance back in 2020 then COVID came along and everything was put on hold eventually when we could fly again i was past on to the airline and they made thing so difficult to get the credit honored so I have lost the flight, I was also told by Flight Centre Southland that i couldn't get my travel insurance money back so i rang the insurance company and got a full refund, I'm so disappointed in Flight Centre as they got their money the airline got their money and the customer you don't care. As a company you wouldn't care but I do hope someone will read this and think twice about using this Flight Centre. So disappointed.

To provide a little more insight, travellers are bound by the booking conditions of the airline and/or supplier and the original booking. Unfortunately we cannot make the decision on the terms of the ticket as these are set and enforced by the supplier and the supplier will have the final say on whether the ticket can be refunded or not, so our teams will be abiding by this advice.
Regardless, we will be sure to take your feedback onboard, and we are glad to hear you were able to get that partial refund back.
Negative experience: We recently had an appointment with one of the customer service reps to help us look for and book some overseas flights for a family of four. The experience with this rep was really disappointing to say the least. The appointment at the Southland store was on a Sunday arvo, so you'd be forgiven for the person you're dealing with being a bit more relaxed, but far from that, the store rep treated the whole experience like a 'tick the box' exercise. She clearly couldn't wait for us to leave. When we sat down, we told the rep we were flexible with our departure and return dates while giving her a specific date range (one week date range). The aim was to try and find the most affordable price. We started with one specific date during that range to get things started. The rep quickly checked and gave us a price, which was $45,000. These were business flights and way out of our price range. She told us that's all there was, so we asked could she check another day. She asked us what date and proceeded to look and found a cheaper flight but still extremely pricey. She again told us that's all there was while staring blankly at us. She clearly wanted the appointment to be over. We again repeated what we said at the very start of the conversation, which was we were flexible with dates but she refused to try and look and just wanted us to give her a specific date and time. This is dramatically different to our previous experience with Flight Centre pre-Covid when the customer service rep we dealt with spent a good 15min check prices on various dates and providing us with a couple of good options. All while being friendly and smiling. Completely opposite to this latest experience. The rep looked almost annoyed we were there. Maybe she was having a bad day, but disappointing we had to bare the brunt of it.

He was very professional, was always at the end of an email and met with my partner on I about 5 times while we planned our dream holiday. We actually didn’t plan much ourselves, we didn’t need too- Dean booked our flight, internal flights and found us the perfect accommodation! He also provided us tips on what to see/do as he was well travelled himself and had travelled to every city we were going too! It was totally stress free having Dean helping us! Negative experience: Very ordinary experience. No knowledge of the country I was travelling to and I may have well booked it all myself. Now due a refund for accommodation and am unable to contact Flight Centre Southland by phone and after fobbing me off by email for months, the agent has now left and the only email address I have is not being monitored. I would not ever go there again.

We know our agents have a wealth of knowledge, and we also definitely acknowledge just how big the world is, and how many destinations our travellers love to visit, and unfortunately not every individual will be an expert on every destination.
And we're sorry you've not been able to contact the team. We'd recommend you pop instore to chat with them, as the teams are needing to prioritize instore customers currently due to the huge increase in demand for travel.
Negative experience: Stuck at the hotel in Nashville a week earlier then they booked it with nowhere to stay and last minute accommodation in the city costing $2k. The store has booked the wrong weekend, they have zero care or willingness to admit fault, given ‘it’s on the itinerary’. I’m unsure how I can fly back to Australia from Hawaii on the weekend that they booked, (which they asked about during the booking process, and had the booking details of). When I contacted for assistance from the hotel the store has simply lied and avoided any accountability. The call disconnected when they were ‘speaking with the customer relations team’ (which was closed that day, by the way, so I’d assume they hung up and put it in the too hard basket). I managed to book my flights, cars and accommodation around the rest of the country all on my own with 0 errors or incorrect dates, however the Southland store couldn’t even get one weekend correct. Please hold for response from store around how this is my fault so you can see the calibre of people you are dealing with at the Southland store and save yourself the headache.

Negative experience: I suggest that potential customers go elsewhere. My wife and I arrived at Flight Centre Southland only to find that we required a prior appointment to be assisted. Unfortunately I cannot see this requirement advertised anywhere. This is not the level of service that we expected.

Negative experience: worst Travel Agent Rude staff that wont help with booking tickets or visas poor customer service an long wait times as well as 12 month waits on refunds

I can understand your frustration around the refund timelines, and unfortunately with the sheer number of cancellations lately, the airline refunding processing times are longer than usual, which means our teams are chasing these for longer.

Fantastic experience: Our agent, Sean Tysson is brilliant, we had such complicated enquiry with connecting flights; and different family members travelling at different times; and Sean made all this appear so easy. However, now he seems to be on annual leave, and I am unable to find a general customer service email contact for flight centre at Southland, to simply confirm that our flights are as initially scheduled; and unchanged; as we are to board a return trip back to Australia next weekend. Negative experience: Useless and rude staff. I understand that you need to make an appointment but your staff is not very helpful in arranging one for me and my partner. I said I work in 9-5job so I can really show up for an appointment at 1pm on a weekday because that's the only appointment she has...instead she should be telling me when is the next appointment that's available outside of 9-5h. Maybe you need to look into getting an online system if the staff can't book you in. Also she didn't pass us any brochures though we asked for them. Not sure whether this is laziness or being useless but it's a no from me from a CS perspective which I also work in.

Negative experience: Waited for a while so we could book our Europe trip. All the agent's were understandably busy. After a while, one agent asked if she could help us, but not until Thursday. I asked if any of the other several agents could help us sooner than Thursday... she replied that I don't have to be rude! Sorry, but Flight Centre Southland has just been crossed off our list due to one sour person. I don't know if the agents work on commission or not, but I've gotta say that was one off-putting experience! Caveat emptor.

Fantastic experience: Shout out to Trina who went out of her way last week to help me use my virgin credits to book a flight with 3 days spare. As I didn’t know you were booking by appointments, you still prioritised my needs for this booking and I successfully had completed my trip over the weekend. Negative experience: Rang and left a message to make an appointment. Then visited the store to be told they were fully booked, which is fine and understandable so I asked for the following week. I was told by the lady she had Wednesday if I was lucky, I asked for a weekend to her reply was I’m not here not sure of anyone else. She looked flustered. I said that’s ok I left a message when someone calls me back I will make a booking them to which she replied well we don’t listen to the voicemail until the end of the day and there would be 50 messages on there so we would be here until midnight if we had to call all back ♀️. I understand that times are busy but where has customer service gone in an industry that has lost money in the last few years

Negative experience: My 70 year old mother asked flight centre if she needs to be vaccinated to fly? Flight centre in Southland responded with Melbourne airport requires Vaccinations and all domestic flights require Vaccinations to fly. I called up Virgin airlines and they said that this is not a requirement to fly Virgin. This could of placed my mothers life in danger as she has pre existing medical conditions. Before giving out false and misleading information staff at Flight centre need to be further educated. I am extremely upset as this has caused unnecessary stress on the family.

Fantastic experience: We just went to flight centre to book flights back home to Europe and Trina was absolutely lovely!! She managed to get flights cheaper and quicker than anything we’d seen online, and checked all the current regulations and restrictions for us. Fantastic experience: Agent Trish (Patricia) Pavlou is the kindest, most helpful agent I've booked a trip with. She was able to reduce my flight costs by $1000 which is just crazy. I think she went to a great deal of effort to find me the best price possible, unlike another agent I'd spoken to previously. During my holiday I had to change flights and she was so quick to respond and offer the best solution. I felt like I was bothering her so often with questions but she was always so friendly and willing to help. I hope her management sees this because she should be rewarded for outstanding customer service. I will definitely call on Trish to book my holidays in the future.

Negative experience: Won’t be doing that again. Had to use you to get rid of some vouchers. Still ended up choosing the flights myself and practically doing everything on my own. Had to ask multiple times to have our frequent numbers added. Had to call multiple times due to lack of communication. Couldn’t get us booked in because the attendant (Kristen) put in the wrong passport number, meaning more of my time wasted on the phone to Qantas, just to realise her mistake!! Then to realise she had booked my partner and I at completely different rows in different seats. Was meant to call my partner to confirm his flight, of course no call. Complete negligence! It’s your job not mine, so why was I constantly fixing mistakes? Not impressed in the slightest. Definitely won’t be using flight centre again!!!!
