Negative experience: I wish I had done more research before booking. Although the view from the property was beautiful, that was the only nice thing. We arrived to a dirty home, no working tv remote, paid extra for linen, that wasn't in the best condition and had to make our own beds, toilet brush was broken, walls coverd in marks, lots of previous guests hair in the bathroom and other parts of the house. We actually only Stayed 1 of our 2 booked nights, was hoping for a partial refund but still no communication from management. Have also just heard from persons closely involved with the properties that have said, cleanliness is not an uncommon complaint. Unkempt, unclean, no care. Have paid less and had better and cleaner experiences in a holiday park which is where we went instead of staying our full stay. Sad and disappointing.

We apologise for the cleanliness issues that you found on arrival, and had you got in touch with us to the office number before the office closed for the day at 4pm (or our dedicated after-hours support number) about the property not being up to standard when you arrived (or when you got in touch with us regarding the TV remote not working), we would have arranged immediate relocation to another property in Port Vincent for your stay.
We take guest satisfaction very seriously, so would have moved you for the duration of your stay rather than you be disappointed in where you had booked. Please be assured that we will be addressing the cleaning issues with the cleaner now that you have made us aware, and this will be rectified.
As advertised, this property does not provide linen and we provided the contact details of a locally-based linen contactor who you could arrange linen hire through if you did not wish to bring your linen supplies with you. If there were issues with the linen provided (which was not through Country Getaways), we would ask that you please follow that up direct who the company that you hired from.
We received your detailed email on Tuesday morning and were working through investigating your concerns and issues advised, and have now refunded a night’s accommodation, the cleaning fee and booking fee to you today, and offer you a complimentary booking fee on a future stay (when booking direct with Country Getaways by phone or online).

Negative experience: We had a very frustrating experience with Country Getaways Holiday Rentals and would not recommend booking with them. From the beginning, communication was poor — it took several calls just to receive the access code, and when we finally spoke to someone, their tone was dismissive and unhelpful. In today’s digital age, this process should be simple and streamlined. We were unexpectedly charged $86 for linen that we didn’t request in advance and that was in terrible condition — musty, old, and clearly not properly cleaned. This charge was never clearly communicated to us beforehand. The cleanliness of the property was another major issue. The downstairs bathroom was clearly not cleaned between guests — with hair and dirt still present. We reported it, but received no response or acknowledgment. The bond refund process was slow, with almost no communication unless we followed up multiple times. While English is not our first language, we’ve stayed in over 100 properties in Australia and never encountered such dismissive service. Unfortunately, we couldn’t help but feel that our concerns were brushed aside — possibly due to our accents, which left us with an even worse impression. Sadly, this was not the relaxing experience we were hoping for, and we hope the management takes feedback like this seriously to improve their service.
Hi Safak, we too are disappointed at this experience. When your colleague initially made contact with the office he was told about BYO linen. He appeared to understand. (I note that we initially had trouble finding your booking as you booked it with your christian name as a surname, however was easily resolved.) When you phoned the after hours support, you had not followed the instructions given, yet appeared to understand them. I can sympathise with guests when English is a second language, however i felt you understood what i was saying about the key information and linen. i have no recollection of you mentioning the cleanliness of the house. Perhaps there could have been dust as it has not rained there for @15 months and has been very windy on the whole of YP.
We went out of our way to provide you with linen(sheets and towels) by gaining access to the owner's supply as you did not bring any.
Our bond refunds are processed twice a week. i note that it was refunded within our T&C time frame.
Perhaps book a hotel motel next time as they include linen.
Negative experience: We had a very Disappointing Experience with Country Getaways Holiday Rentals. Do not book with them please!!!!!! - Linen Charges: We didn’t bring our own linen, so they provided some — but it was in poor condition, with a strong unpleasant smell. To make matters worse, we were charged an additional $86 for it without any prior notice or agreement. - Access Issues: The access code wasn’t provided in the initial communication. We had to call multiple times to obtain it, and it felt as though we were inconveniencing the person on the other end who was very arrogant. In this day and age, there’s no reason the code couldn’t be sent through the booking inbox like most other accommodation providers do. - Communication Problems: It was difficult to get a response to our emails — both for invoices and general enquiries. - Deposit Return Delays: We experienced delays and lack of communication regarding the return of our deposit. - Cleanliness: The downstairs bathroom was unhygienic, with visible hair and dirt. Despite raising this concern, we received no acknowledgment or response from the host. Overall, the experience fell far below expectations. I hope this feedback helps others and prompts improvements in service and communication from the host.
Hi Martin, we were surprised to read your negative review, particularly as we "bent over backwards" to accommodate your last minute booking. you were advised at time of booking that there was no linen provided and you advised you had some. Unfortunately you didn't and upon your arrival, you requested some and we arranged access to the owner's locked cupboard within the property for your convenience. You were advised then that there would be a Hire fee for the linen.
when you made your booking through a third party, you did not contact the office in a timely manner as per the text message and follow instructions to pay the refundable bond, hence why you got the after hours support. We are available by phone only after hours.
We are unable to supply you with key information until all conditions have been met, ie bond paid.
Perhaps when booking any accommodation throughout the world, try and be a little more organized to save any last minute hassles and have a clear understanding of what is expected.
We did not hear from you after you accessed the locked cupboard, except for one of our team checking in with you that you got into the cupboard ok.
no mention was made of cleanliness - had we known we could have dealt with it. it has been an extremely dry year (no rain for 16 months) and there is a lot of wind and dust around. we can't fix what we don't know!
i note that English was not your first language and no doubt this did not help your understanding of the situation.

Negative experience: I booked the Glam Apartment 21 in Wallaroo. Unfortunately despite a wonderful holiday our experience with Country Getaways was soured when i was accused of breaking their vacuum cleaner and told my bond would be taken to buy a replacement when in actual fact it was broken on our arrival. The adapter plug in the bedroom also sparked whenever i tried to plug my phone charger in and gave me an electric shock and the door was impossible to lock and unlock. Would not recommend anyone booking with this company. We did everything to leave the apartment in wallaroo as clean as we found it and to be accused of breaking things we absolutely did not, after paying $316/ night is disgusting. Sad as I was going to make this a repeat booking for the following year but will never be dealing with this company again.

We note that we did not hear from you whilst you were at the property re your concerns, which have now been investigated. There is no fault with any powerpoint, and the door lock has been checked with no fault.
In regards to the vacuum, cleaner advised it was broken on her arrival. We note your bond has not been affected.

Negative experience: Please for anyone thinking of booking with this company. DON’T! Save yourself a lot of headache and stress! They have poor service and could not care about your complaint and experience at all! They are straight out liars. We booked a place with a pool which had green water on arrival. We were not informed of this at all until arrival. We were assured that we will get a refund plus an option to relocate which we did. Days later, we were told that since we relocated, a refund is not an option. Their consultant LINDA assured us that we will get a refund and I asked this on multiple occasions as I had known - we would of settled at the place with a partial refund since the place they are offering does not have a pool. We were told it is our fault for not reading the terms and conditions although their own consultant did know this herself. To make things worse, they have blocked us on FB and deleted our comments to hide the fact that they are such a bad company to deal with! DO NOT RECOMMEND THEM AT ALL ESPECIALLY LINDA and SAM. Please ignore their response below as they are just making up excuses and trying to sound nice when they are not at all! This was suppose to be a memorable holiday for our family but all they costs us was stress and frustration!Please avoid this company at all costs!!

When booking, you have agreed to the terms and conditions and this covers when a holiday house is deemed unsatisfactory upon arrival. We were unaware of the condition of the pool until you advised us and sent your photos through (we thank you for bringing this to our attention as it was not in that state for the previous guest, and may have been a result of recent weather), and we immediately offered you the options of relocating to another property of your choice (from available options that were emailed to you), or remaining at Kadina Retreat with a partial refund. As you chose to relocate, we covered any costs associated with the relocation to the waterfront accommodation.
We apologise if there was miscommunication and misunderstanding.
As previously mentioned in our other review response, had you not been happy with the relocated property when you arrived, we could have found another alternative for you.

Negative experience: DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS PLACE!!! I had booked for a place with a pool only to arrive with a dirty pool. I was offered relocation to another property with NO POOL and was assured I will get a partial refund as compensation only for them to tell me that since I chose to relocate that I will not get a refund! This was not clearly mentioned to me before as if I had know I would have chose not to relocate! LINDA the consultant and all their other workers are LIARS! Do not RECOMMEND THEM!!!!

We're sorry you feel that way about your recent stay with us.
I have looked at your reservation details and can see you initially booked Kadina Retreat, but there were issues with the swimming pool on your arrival. Unfortunately it was not possible to rectify the pool issues quickly as treatment processes take several days to clear up the issues. We were now aware that the change to the pool water occurred very quickly as it was not in this condition during the previous guest's stay a few days earlier.
From what I understand you were offered the options of staying at the property and receiving a refund for the inconvenience of the pool not being available, or relocating at our cost to another property that was available (we only have one with a pool so offering you a pool was not an option).
Sorry to hear you didn't have a good experience at the property you chose to relocate to, but had we heard from you to either the office or our after-hours support number that it wasn't suitable when you arrived, we could have relocated you again to another property from options you were emailed links to.

Negative experience: The problem with our stay was the absolute rude and unprofessional conduct of the owner Helly . There were issues raised that were treated with contempt and disregard . I will most certainly not use Country Getaways for accommodation again and would discourage any owners from listing their property with this company.

I’ve examined your booking and the details provided to you. All is correct including the detailed arrival instructions given, clearly stating it was the 2nd unit in the complex that you were booked into. I am surprised you did not realise upon arrival that the property you entered was not the one you booked, as it did not match the directions and had linen supplied ready for another guest.
There was a problem with the keysafe in U1 that allowed you to access the 1st unit, however it was NOT the property you booked. You did stay the Friday night in the incorrect unit which was ready with linen for the Saturday arrival; and in the interest of good customer service, we did not charge you for the use of that linen and chose not to move you to Hamptons (unit 2) which you had booked; instead we relocated the U1 guest due to arrive Saturday to Hamptons and provided the linen to them that they had booked.
Regarding the water being warm as opposed to hot, after-hours troubleshooting was provided to you over the phone, and you were asked to advise if this wasn’t resolved. We did not hear back from you, so assumed all was ok with the water.

Positive experience: Stayed in Port Vincent, in a place with a great location (Little White House). Was advised house had split system heating. The system did not work. We phoned to ask to be fixed. Was advised that it couldn't be fixed, and appeared to be a known problem. We froze (July). The house was very uncomfortable. Left early and cut our holiday short. A very disappointing experience with the house, and I'm sad for my family who were looking so forward to the trip. However, phone staff at Country Getaways were very friendly and understanding to my partner, and offered to assist us in leaving early.

Unfortunately the owners had been aware of the air-conditioner not heating the house, and there was some miscommunication where they had thought they had advised of this, but as the agent we were unaware. Positive experience: We stayed at a house in ardrossan and it hadn't been cleaned before we arrived. We had to mop floors and do most of the cleaning before we could relax. Once we saw this and that was dirty we figured everything was dirty. After voicing our concerns around the town we were informed that since our departure and the new people who arrived that afternoon a cleaner had not been to the property.... maybe this cleaning person is taking advantage of the owner by charging for a service not provided? I sent emails about our stay and was told I could have rung their mobile and a cleaner would have been sent back. To be honest maybe they should have been sent before we arrived. The best things about the house were their beds were very comfortable and sitting on the deck was very relaxing with your morning coffee. We also liked the location as we were close to friends and family

It's disappointing to hear of the cleaning issues you mentioned finding on your arrival. We do ask that guests contact our after-hours support by phone once they arrive, should they find that the property is not to standard or as expected. This allows us the opportunity to rectify any problems, and ensure that you have a good experience and holiday.
I can see that you did send an email to our office on Saturday 23rd when we were closed, and the out-of-office email message, along with information at the property provided the after-hours phone number to call for any issues. I have looked at your reservation with us, but cannot see any record of contact being made to the after-hours number. Had we heard from you on the Saturday by phone, we would have immediately asked the cleaner to attend to the issues that you identified so that your stay was trouble-free.
As the property cleaner lives near to the house you stayed in and would arrive on foot, the people in Ardrossan you have mentioned that you spoke with were unlikely to have seen them arrive for the departure clean if they were expecting to see a vehicle in the driveway.

Negative experience: God awful experience, My partner booked threw these guys for the long weekend. Dirty filthy hole with staff attitude to match.. Avoid these guys.
As per our phone conversations, if only you had of advised us upon your arrival we would have moved and upgraded you. It was obvious by the feedback you gave the cabin that it had missed a departure clean and this was explained to you.
Despite staying the night you also got a refund. Your wife was understanding of the situation, however you were rude and out of line.
I suggest you consider booking elsewhere in future.

The stairs to the beach were only installed in Dec2021 the the sand level is quite unpredictable due to the tides and it has been very windy. We have never had complaints on this property; air con works well if used properly. it is one of our smallest rentals - you get what you pay for! (The last block of land there sold for $1.7mill )

Negative experience: Dirty, grotty, greasy, cockroaches, no steps to beach as promised. Disappointing. Shack was Number 1 Albarino at Black Point. You can only keep taking money from people for so long before you clean, paint and generally update.
Hi Fiona, you get what you pay for at BP. with land alone now worth $1.7 mil, rentals will continue to go up. this property is one of our cheaper ones and has undergone several renovations in the past 12 months as you would have seen - new deck out front and newvsteps going to the beach. i don't know how you would have missed them! i note after the high tide and rain, there is a bit of a step/leap to the sand now, however we can't control nature. we have had nothing but positive fb on this property. i note you stayed 6 nights and did not hear from you during your stay....... we can't fix what we don't know.
Fantastic experience: Beautiful location with views looking at North Beach and Port Riley to the right. Spacious house well priced definitely worth a stay.

Negative experience: This was our 3rd stay in 12 months at 99A Black Point, this time it was filthy and I spent the first hour on arrival scrubbing and cleaning the house. Piles of dead flies and dust on bedroom window sills, hand rail to upstairs was black with grime instead of white, food splatter on the walls behind the bin, hair in the freezer. Was told on the day of arrival that the upstairs air conditioner had been leaking and needed fixing, that when we got there the a/c people would have been to fix it and be gone by the time we arrived. There was a massive wet puddle on the carpet when we arrived and peeling paint on the skirting boards from water damage. When it got hot and I turned it on it was still leaking so turned it off again. Contacted the office, they thought it had been done. A/C repairers arrived then left after a few hours telling us to not use it. I called the office the next day, no one knew what was happening, will call me back, 2 hours later I was called by country getaways who proceeded to accuse us of it being our fault that the a/c needed replacing instead of repairing. Was told we could have started a fire and they have removed the remote as we couldn't be trusted to not use it. They also said it will not be fixed while we are there for a week! No they can't send us any fans, just open a window. So, so rude. Absolutely gob smacked the way they were speaking to me, I did not deserve it as I had not done anything wrong, put a dampener on the holiday. So only half the property was used as it was so hot upstairs it was impossible to go up there day or night and 3 people had to sleep on the floor downstairs. (It is the middle of summer after all) $2570 for a week away was very disappointing.
Hi Michelle, we acknowledge the air con was not working and as you mention, you were advised accordingly prior to your arrival. we were advised the morning of your stay, but miraculously managed to get someone to look at it straight away. Someone from your party was also advised by the tech not to use it. Despite this it was used. (dangerous!)
As you would appreciate, tradies are hard to come by in the country. At no time was it insinuated it was your fault that it needed replacing, however you were reminded it should not have been used with water pouring down the wall (dangerous). Luckily the temperature was between 25-32 degrees all week.
In regards to cleanliness, we note that you have not been happy with previous properties you have booked including dead flies on windowsills. These happen overnight.
Perhaps look at other accommodation options next time

Fantastic experience: Lovely accommodation that is comfortable and well equipped. Good air conditioning and WiFi. Spacious open plan living area. Secure back yard for the dog and nice bbq. Only issue would be the main bedroom that is in the front of the house needs better blinds/curtains as the street light outside shines in at night. Other than that we had a great stay!!

Negative experience: BBQ was filthy spiderwebs all over it didnt / couldn't use it. Second shower head fell off, couldnt use 2nd bathroom shower. Crockery was limited, back yard had litter all over including crab claws on the lawn. House was not cleaned properly bathrooms/ toilets. 2 tea towels in the house had tk go searching. Very dissapointed with this place as was not cheap Had to ring for roller door key as could not find it due to no written instructions. Staff were helpful in finding it the next day. Location was good close to the beach, but would not stay there again.

Fantastic experience: We have booked our annual holidays in the York Peninsula through Country Getaways ever since our adult children were kids and have never had any problems. Ready to book next years.
Fantastic experience: Comfortable, modern. Love the pontoon. Air conditioning throughout the house was great. The tile floors could do with a mop as it was gritty to walk on, and there were a lot of hair on the bathroom floors. The coffee machine was a disappointment as the the milk frother spout was very rusty. Otherwise love the place, would definitely go back.
Fantastic experience: We booked a place called The Little White House, Port Vincent. We arrived with our daughters to find the place very uncleaned rundown full of cobwebs both inside snd outside the property. I could go on…!! Kelly who we spoke to on the phone very promptly moved us as we sent pictures of this property. We were moved a few doors up to seaside appartments, which we could not fault. Positive experience: Great location. I didn't feel at home so many signs saying don't do this or you will be charged if you do this. The place was over priced plus asked for a $250 bond. An $80 cleaning is also charged but if the bins were left with excess rubbish a $50 fee would apply. Also have to bring own towels and linen. Probably pay less at the hilton and get breakfast. The toilet blocked up on day 2. I did the right thing as I left and let them know the toilet was blocked they have proceeded to charge me $100 for the plumber stating I blocked the toilet despite it being booked up for the last month. I have queried this to no response it is also had to get hold of them as they do not follow the business hours they state.

Aegean is one of our most popular rentals and presents good value for money which is probably why you booked it. I note however you booked through Air BnB, thus paying a premium booking fee – 20% on top of what we do - (ours is a flat $25). Charging a refundable bond is standard practice throughout the whole of Australia. If you do the right thing, and follow the signage and rules, of course it is refunded. In regards to rubbish, bins are picked up weekly with recycle fortnightly; they won’t take anything overflowing or not contained within a bin. This is why guests must take anything left over with them or dispose of thoughtfully, thus avoiding a contractor fee to collect it so it doesn’t pollute the area; again signage clearly explains this. Yorke Peninsula is very much a BYO linen destination in most holiday rentals – you know this before you book.
Thanks for advising your blocked toilet upon your departure. The plumber confirmed a blockage as something other than the usual was placed in the toilet. If this was there prior to your arrival, then you would not have been able to use the shower or toilet all weekend and you would have reported it. The plumber charged us $250. You were charged $100 against your bond.
You initially contacted us on the weekend chasing your bond refund when the operator did not have immediate access to the history of your departed booking. Our office is open Mon-Fri 9am-4pm. Your call was returned Monday and again the following day.
I suggest next time you want a getaway, do not book with Country Getaways and book the Hilton – they provide linen and make your bed!

Negative experience: Completed feedback survey ref Aquamarine and no response. Accommodation was dirty, no pantry as it was locked, oven filthy, microwave not working, stove hotplate not working, tv remote filthy stuck together with tape and flat batteries, bedroom chest of drawers draw broken, and extractor fan was black with grease and dirt, coffee machine debris kept coming out when flushing, and finally kitchen shelves were dirty with food matter on them.
Our notes indicate you tried to check in at 11am prior to any cleaning taking place from the departure same day. You were advised it would be ready from 1pm. if you were not happy, why didn't you contact us whilst there? the stove does work when you turn the isolator on and current guests confirm microwave is working; perhaps an operator error on both parts. Other things have been rectified incl drawers & fan. Tape on a remote stops batteries falling out. I note we gave you a 12pm checkout. a few crumbs in a cupboard from a toaster do not constitute dirty! an unfair review
Negative experience: We did enjoy our holiday at Moonta Bay cabins and would recommend staying there but not via the means of booking we used. There are always 2 sides to a story however our story holds evidence of the course of events. My first ever review and sadly it’s due to such disappointment of such terrible service. Country Getaways were not only inconsistent with their management processes but were very poor at communication. Here is why. In 2019 three cabins were booked side by side for three families all paid for and confirmed for a three night stay over Easter. However, COVID sadly prevented us from this holiday. We then received emails stating our bookings would be automatically transferred to the following year. After this only 2 of the three families were contacted about now having to book an extra night and that there would be a price increase. This was despite already having paid in full and receiving an email stating our holiday booked in 2019 would automatically be transferred as is to 2021. These two families agreed and only after the fact realized that one family were not told they needed to do this. We all still wanted to go despite this and additionally one family responded via email stating that we still wanted the three bookings as long as the three families were staying side by side to each other. No response. When confirming in 2021 we were told that one family did now not have a booking as the cabin that they had booked was supposedly cancelled on the same date that they paid the balance of their booking the previous year. This is an outright lie! This family nor any of the three families had no intention of cancelling and when we asked for evidence of this they could not provide this, they didn’t even respond to the email requesting this. This was requested not once but twice. No response, ignored. If the booking had been cancelled then we didn’t understand why they held onto this families money for another year. This should have been refunded straight away if that was the case. We stated in email why they did this. No response again. They did find alternative accommodation at double the price, which would cost this family an extra $400. Not only was this an extremely expensive increase but unreasonable given they hadn’t cancelled in the first place. Lastly and furthermore 2 families attended their holiday and only 1 out of the 2 families were required to pay a bond? Whilst I would book here again I was so terribly disappointed with the service, management process and administration from Country Getaway Rentals. The inconsistencies, extremely poor communication and inability to take accountability is the reason why I will in future use other means of booking like Stayz.

The cancelled booking which received a full refund is welcome to come to enjoy the cabins at a discounted rate anytime.
I suggest you book elsewhere in future.
Negative experience: My first negative review but feel the need to provide a warning. Used country Getaways to book our stay at Moonta Bay cabins. The booking was initially made in 2019 straight after Easter via phone for 3 families to book 3 cabins for the 2020 Easter period. The booking was made this far in advance in order to secure 3 cabins side by side for each individual family. As a result of the single phone call to make the booking each individual family received their own invoice and payment/deposits were made to secure the booking - all confirmed via email. When 2020 came around bookings could not be honoured because of COVID and we were informed that our booking was automatically pushed back to 2021. During 2019 - 2020 the contract to manage the cabins was changed to Country Getaway. Several weeks prior to 2021 Easter Family B called up country getaway with a query as they had not received the same correspondence as family A and family C. They were informed by Country Getaway that their records indicate they had called up a year earlier to cancel their booking. Family B never cancelled their booking as the intention always remained that the 3 families spend this period together. Country Getaway were adamant the booking was cancelled as they had hand written notes “he” called up to cancel. Country Getaway were not able to honour family B’s booking (even though they still held payment in full) and offered a solution in the form of another property several km’s away at an extra cost of $400 (on top of what they had already paid). Obviously this was not an ideal situation because the intention was for all 3 families to spend the time together, not apart. Country Getaways remained adamant that family B had cancelled and also agreed that the funds were not to be refunded but held in a trust. Country Getaway also stated that family B even though paid in full, should have made contact via phone to confirm the booking. Family B never cancelled their booking and never agreed to not receive a refund. A transaction of funds should be solid enough and further follow up from the buyer should not be required. Keep in mind, family B never received any communication from country getaway when the “booking was cancelled”. After a bit of back and forth family B did receive a refund which shows fault on country Getaways behalf. As a result of the above debacle family A and C attempted to cancel their bookings as the purpose of this trip no longer met the needs of the 3 families. Unfortunately when we all realised family B’s booking was not honoured we were within a timeframe that made us exempt from any refund. After attempting to negotiate on the phone with one of the staff members for at least a partial refund I was told to escalate further via email. After composing an email I asked for a phone call back to avoid constant back and forth emails in order to seek a speedy resolution. I was hoping some type of refund could be provided so country getaway would have sufficient opportunity to re book the cabins during a peak period. The phone call never came and even though we were blamed for having poor communication Country getaway need to have a long hard review of their own communication obligations. We did go to the cabins with only family C and the property was great. Even though one family missed out, we felt safe that the kids could run around and use the facilities in a environment without danger. I recommend using an alternative more professional booking method like booking.com or Agoda, as their booking systems and professionalism are far superior. Do not not be put off by not going to Moonta Bay cabins, just be aware that some property management companies do not hold customer service in high regard.

Positive experience: $151.00 per night, still had to take own linen, sheets, towels, tea towels etc. Beds very uncomfortable, drains and sinks were very smelly, unit could do with a massive deep clean. Big fluro light on outside of main bedroom which meant light coming straight in to bedroom. Not a fan for the price.

Fantastic experience: This place while older style accommodation was very comfortable and very adaptable for families and friends. Short walk to the beach this accomodation was perfect for our stay which included multiple adults children and infants. Parking and safety with gate is a bonus as well.

Negative experience: Cleaning fee trap. Although you paid the cleaning fee and did good cleaning before you leaving. They still framed you something not clean properly to charge you additional cleaning fee or compensation. And the agent won't believe what you said. Remember take the photos as many as you can in the house before you move in and move out. Otherwise you won't get your bund back.

Fantastic experience: Our dealings with Country Getaways over the years has always been brilliant. A very professional company to deal with and especially understanding during this year 2020! We stayed at Wallaroo Waters 3 bedroom holiday house for 7 nights and it had everything you could want. It was very peaceful on the Marina even though it was peak holiday season. There’s an empty block either side of the house, so no close neighbours. This could change in the future of course! Caught heaps of crabs off the pontoon with our own crab nets & there’s a good gas burner stove & crab cooking pot supplied in a sheltered area on the side of the house. It was very, very comfortable and good r/c ducted a/c when needed & ceiling fans. There were a couple of very little things that could make it better but all in all it’s a fabulous house for a family or group of friends. Would Highly recommend this house.

Negative experience: We rented a property at 2 Maritime road Moonta Bay. The size of the place was great. The amenities not so great. The fridge ice dispenser & cold water service didn't work, the oven & griller didn't work, the upstairs air conditioners didn't work & the gas bbq bottle ran out after about 10 minutes of cooking with the onus on us to travel to a place & refill it which at that point we were unable to drive legally. The location was good. The 10 am out or it will cost $50 per hour after that should also apply to the amenities not being in working condition. If you're planning on renting this place try to ensure that these amenities are in working order. We had all brought our food to cook etc but had to eat out for the majority of our visit.
Hi Steve, it was unfortunate that you did not contact office or our after hours number to assist with your stay. There is usually a note on the fridge about the ice dispenser which is not connected AND also a note in the info booklet. The isolator for oven/grill on the splashback was off and just needed to be turned on . there are two gas bottles there for your use, second one stored in BBQ shed.
All our properties are 10am check out unless otherwise requested which allows for cleaning and an arrival at 2pm (if any) This is standard practice for HR. We can sometimes give you a complimentary 12 noon check-out if no check-in same day - you only have to ask.

Negative experience: We stayed at the Sea La Vue Pt Hughes - Great location and house layout but was in pretty disgusting condition upon arrival. Crumbs on the lounge room coffee table, dirty floors, all the draws the in kitchen were dirty with crumbs and bits and pieces everywhere, there was even a used pair of tongs straight from the BBQ left in the utensils draw.. We had to clean and wash everything. Not what you want as a paying guest.. We called manager upon arrival and didn't get anywhere really except an excuse of a change of cleaners recently. Nevertheless, can be sorted with a decent cleaner. Apart from the issues above it was a nice stay.

Fantastic experience: The Happy Shack was just the best way to welcome in my 50's. It's certainly not the fanciest shack (apart from a newly renovated kitchen) but that was absolutely part of its appeal. The BEST thing about it is how close it is to the beach, and because it's set so close you really don't notice the shacks either side of it. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen fully stocked with crockery etc, the BBQ was fabulous and the arrangement with the Pine Point caravan park kiosk for changing the gas bottles was seamless. My only criticism is the vacuum cleaner.... it looks very old and tired and wasn't very effective at vacuumming up sand!! We'll definitely be back!!

Negative experience: We booked Sandcastles at Moonta Bay 18 to 22 September 2020. The place is not what was advertised Executive and COVID 19 clean. This is what we found:- Dirty floors throughout. Black mould in showers. Dust and grime everywhere. Spiders and cobwebs. Dirty cutlery and kitchenware. Kitchen cupboards filthy. Kitchen exhaust fan full of grime and a fire risk. Outside balcony door broken and left inside master bedroom. Torn and stained carpets. Torn blinds. The main fridge had a broken temperature knob and took 3 days to cool and there was no temperature gage. I rang to request a house clean and fridgy but it was obvious that country getaways had no intention to provide this service. A cleaner did come on Friday night at 10pm but it was a token measure and by then we were exhausted and had enough of the games. The fridgy never came to inspect the property. We are still waiting to hear from the director two days after leaving messages. Katharine Martin
Your review is incomplete, false and misleading. here are the facts:
You arrived after 5 days of constant wind. the floors were a little dusty and you recognised it would be from the wind and dust coming in under the front door. at your suggestion, a weather strip has now been installed – thank you for this feedback. balcony screen door runners have been repaired - it was left inside due to severe wind and avoid it blowing away or causing damage. carpets are steam cleaned regularly and blinds & carpets have normal wear and tear. you admitted fiddling with the fridge controls which, according to the fridgie we spoke to, possibly put it in defrost mode. this was explained to you and also there was an additional large fridge for food and drinks which could be used. unfortunately tradesmen are difficult to get hold of at 5pm on a Friday night - both we spoke to were out of town for the weekend.
you insisted to move to another property. an inspection was arranged, however you decided you did not like the layout and wanted to stay where you were. cleaner was arranged to return to Sandcastles to attend to the cleaning issues you advised of, however in the meantime she was turned back due to the fact that you wanted to move. only time she could come was 9.30pm which she did, only to be told when she arrived she was not required, thus wasting everyone's time, particularly hers as she had travelled half an hour to get there. As per our Terms & Conditions (item 12 Upon Arrival & item 21 Repairs & Maintenance), we reserve the right to attend the property as soon as practical to attend to reported matters. Please also note than under item 21, it states that if someone attending for repairs is turned away and not allowed access, the cost of that callout is the responsibility of the guest.
BTW there is absolutely no mould in any showers – the grout is very dark though. Sandcastles has always been a popular rental. It is therefore serviced regularly and maintained to a high standard.
You were clearly stressed by your family gathering, evident by family comments in the background. your phone call was returned at 6pm one evening being the last for the day and a message left to say same. We did not hear from

Positive experience: The property I rented had a magnificent view across the Spencer Gulf. Unfortunately the property hadn't been cleaned as thoroughly as it should have been. There was no offer to improve the cleanliness although I alerted Country Getaways upon my arrival. They did assist in moving the outdoor furniture. Moonta Bay is a great location for a holiday.

Fantastic experience: This great team at country getaways holidays could not have been kinder or more helpful in facilitating a comfortable stay at Sun on the Stubble, Maitland. I was there under some personally difficult circumstances. It was made easier by the kind team of local folk and typical country hospitality . The accommodation was comfortable and warm, clean and equipped well for my month long stay. It was quiet with barely a sound to be heard at night - great for a wind down and some relaxation.

Negative experience: The brochure told us only to bring bed linen and towels, which we did only to find that there were no pillows or blankets. We should have been told to bring our blankets/doona and pillows. Very disappointing and inconvenient for us. Also we were told we'd have a queen bed, but it turned out to be a small double bed and not very comfortable. The sliding door latch was broken and ready to fall off, there was no D.V.D. player as advertised and the basin hot water tap dripped continuously. I have reviewed your booking and the correspondence sent to you on 3rd June when you booked your stay using your Travel Auction voucher.
In the booking confirmation sent to you, it does state that a double bed was part of the bedding configuration (the queen bed was included on the voucher in error and you would have received an email earlier in the year from Travel Auctions advising of their publishing mistake).
The booking confirmation also had an highlighted section advising all guests that due to COVID-19 it was a requirement to bring all linen & bedding for your stay.
Should you arrive to your accommodation and find it not as expected, eg DVD player, cleanliness, we encourage you to make contact so that we can immediately rectify any issues.
You would have also received a guest feedback email following your stay, and we would appreciate it if you could please provide any additional feedback direct to us using that form.

We arrived at 3pm and already had to ring the company regarding linen that was put on the beds which we did not ask for. The next morning the company rang my partner telling her we had more people on the property than we told them, to which my partner replied with "no we have 10 adults and 1 child" they then started accusing us that we had more children at the property than we origionally told them. My partner replied with "no we have 10 adults and 1 child like i told you." She then proceeded with the comment of "well, there is 5 cars at the property and we have done the math" which my partner and i felt was very rude so she replied with "you can not just asume that, there are 3 single people here and they have come up alone." This made us feel as though they had breached our privacy in a way as they had obviously been checking up on us. After debating with them that we did not exceed the number of guests at the property they then proceeded to tell us that the sewerage system for that house is not equipped to handle that many people, to which my partner replied with "why are you advertising a house that can sleep 11 if it can not accomodate 11 people" they replied with "well, we have never had this many people on the property before" my partner replied with "im sorry but thats not my problem, 3 of us have had showers this morning, the others will have a shower tonight and then we will be out of your hair tomorrow morning so i dont thibk there will be any issue" to which the company replied with "well there could be." Almost insinuating there was going to be an issue which left my partner rather distressed for the rest of our stay that they were going to bill us for something that we knew would be perfectly fine. We found it extremely rude that they called us to accuse us of things we would not do and to also ring us in the middle of our stay with such attitude and accusations is very unprofessional in our eyes.
Corey, if you had nothing to hide, there would be no concerns on your part. We were simply acting on information given to us and followed through accordingly - that's our job. FYI we have now reduced the number to be accommodated at this property due to the septic situation and equipment/facilities provided.
Positive experience: I found the people at Country Getaways pleasant and helpful however the property we stayed in was quite dirty and did not fit the description given on the web page. Hopefully our next experience with them will be better.
Rose's Beach Shack is exactly that, a shack on the beachfront at Black Point. It is a very popular rental with many guests wanting that "shack" experience. We have checked the description which was correct. If you would like something more modern, perhaps phone us to discuss some other options.

Fantastic experience: We stayed at the Gulf View At Edithburgh and we had such a relaxing wonderful time. The Gulf View has the most beautiful views from the kitchen, lounge room and bedroom and was so clean. Everything so close too. The jetty, cafe, pub and walking trail. It was so lovely just to sit in the lounge room and read and the same time enjoy the views. We will be back Thank you

Positive experience: Very disappointing stay at Clydesdale Cottage. Not clean at all, hair everywhere and spiders all over the cottage. Will not be staying there again. The staff at Country Getaways where very helpful though.

Positive experience: "Your place" pt vic davies crescent Nice house , big and clean beautiful view only downfall was that it advertised a mini golf area for the kids and there isnt one so I think the add needs to be changed as thats why we specifically chose this house for the kids and they were disappointed when we saw it was just a patch of fake lawn and nothing else. But it was good, the security bond could be refunded quicker than 14 days which is also a bit disapointing since it inly takes 5 minutes to refund

** edit 29/1/20 - the owners has advised that the mini golf hole is covered, but the clubs & balls are still provided at the accommodation. They said their children use it with a plastic tumbler as the hole, but following your feedback they will provide a portable golf hole. **
I have checked your reservation and I can see that your security bond was refunded 5 days after your departure. Our T&C's do say that bond are refunded within 14 days, and this timeframe varies with public holidays and method of payment; with the refund generally occurring within 7 days following the cleaners report being received.

Positive experience: Great location, nice quiet little spot
Negative experience: Condition of the rental was the worst I have ever seen. Dishwasher still had dishes in it with mold all over them, dishwasher flooded due to the hose being blocked, TV's didn't work, bin in toilet was full of rubbish, dirt and grime throughout the house. For the price you pay to rent this two storey in Moonta Bay I was shocked and was astounded by the condition. Never again.

Fantastic experience: Over the last 4 years I have rented various properties on YP from Helly & her friendly team. The homes .. Edithburgh, Sultana Point, Wallaroo & North Beach (all pet friendly) .. have all been as advertised, clean & tidy with everything needed to ensure a comfortable stay for myself, family & our pets. If any issues have arisen (ie plumbing) it has been fixed in good time without hassle or incident. The negative reviews I've read on here surprise me and certainly don't match the experiences I've had with Country Getaways which has prompted me to write this review. It's been very easy to arrange bookings & payments on the internet as well, and phone support is there if & when required. A very happy customer.

Negative experience: Appalling customer service. I have booked with them twice in 2 years and will never do it again. The first time they charged my credit card 3 months after the stay - I complained and demanded my credit card details be deleted to which the response "was they are encrypted so safe"......maybe not as safe as you would think! The second and most recent time, the houses we booked had clearly not been cleaned (bird poo all over the balconies of both houses) despite us paying a cleaning fee of $122 per house. I took photos and we cleaned the insides of the houses to ensure we could enjoy our stay. I emailed the photos and after having to ring a week later to get a response, the response was "why didn't I complain at the time and received a token $30 credit to my client account"......ridiculous!
Negative experience: Well where do I start our shack was dirty. The fridge is that old and rusty it's doesn't keep your food cold. The air conditioning didn't work. There were plumbing issues. There are patches of flooring layed all over the place curled up (trip hazards) Spider's and cobwebs everywhere. The kettle was that old and disgusting. The positives are it was beautiful right on the water and someone bought us a new kettle the day of our arrival after calling and complaining.
Fantastic experience: Very helpfull and friendly staff. Our accommodation was lovely and they were able to resolve queries we had within half an hour of calling them. We will use them again for booking holiday houses in that area.
Negative experience: Our accommodation was fantastic and if I were reviewing just that aspect, then this would be a 5 Star review. Unfortunately, the pleasure and relaxation of our stay was completely ruined by the treatment we received from Country Getaways some three days after we left. We received an email politely telling us that we had caused some damage and that our credit card would be debited for an unknown cost of repair - not even so much as a phone call. We didn't cause the damage claimed (dented fly wire - really??) and the ensuing accusations and blatantly rude responses to our replies was appalling. Their final response to me was "Without question, your stay has exacerbated the damage to the door. The question remains whether or not it is wear and tear." (sic) - so they started out with a point blank accusation of us causing the damage and ended with them accusing us of "exacerbating" the damage - by definition this must mean the the damage was pre-existing. We are professional business owners and have rented many holiday homes and apartments over the years. We have always treated the properties with the utmost respect. We have never been treated so poorly by any "managing agent" as Country Getaways have. We will never rent any property managed by Country Getaways. My recommendation to anyone who does is to take photos of every square inch of the place on arrival and when you leave - you never know when you may have to prove your innocence.............
Negative experience: top accommodation, totally spoiled by the experience of being told that we would be charged 30 bucks for someone to go to the trouble of retrieving a library book we left behind.
