Negative experience: Flight Center Greenhills - what an absolute joke! I have never left a bad review, however others must be warned. One star is already too much for these incomptetent 'travel agents'. Experience 1: had a male 'travel expert' tell me i didnt want to do certain activities on our girls trip to Vegas because 'chicks arnt into that'. Then over charged us for travel insurance that he stated was required to enter the country (complete lie) it then took well over 2 months for the refund! Oh, and booked me under the wrong last name! The agent was rude, condesending and a liar and unwilling to assist when a refund was requested or when we went against something he suggested. Experience 2: My young sister doing a Contiki tour in Europe was left stranded and alone with no accommodation! This 'Travel Expert' was unhelpful during the entire booking process and clearly does not understand his job. He lied about visiting London. He refused to help when sister called RE said accommodation (she was standing in the lobby) He didnt even go over her itinery when she went to collect (where im sure the issue would have been discovered). Both occasions managers phone numbers and emails were requested and never given & huge delays in responses. I will NEVER again use this incompetent, unhelpful business and will continue to tell everyone how absolutely terrible they are.

Negative experience: My daughter booked her contiki tour for Europe, the guy that served had never been to Europe or done a trip like this himself ( he told us that) she was arriving in London 3 days early so he had to book her 3 nights accommodation before the trip started, an extra 2 nights at the end of the trip, transfers to and from airport and a ticket to Harry Potter world. My daughter left very nervous and anxious on Sunday, she arrives in London her car transfer was waiting and took her to the motel, so far so good. She arrives at the motel to told she has no booking. This did not make sense, she called me upset as she was in a foreign country that she had never been to before, by herself and no accomodation. As it was 9pm in Australia I had to call the emergency line. 3 hrs later they finally found her accommodation only for the 1 night. I called the following day to get this sorted and the answer I received was lots of people get a transfer to a motel there NOT staying in and then just arrange their own accommodation. Omg this made me furious as she also said that she had spoken with the guy that booked everything and he said we had told him she didn’t need accommodation. Long story short we trusted flight centre and now I will never deal with them again. I am also taking this further. As we are out of pocket over $1500, a stressed and anxious daughter that was meant to be having a trip of a lifetime. So disappointed. Definitely wish we read reviews before booking

Fantastic experience: We have spent the last 12 months working with Robert to book our European honeymoon/adventure and we cannot recommend him highly enough. From our initial enquiry through to completion, Robert has been just as excited for this trip as we are. We have required multiple adjustments to our plan along the way and Robert has been extremely understanding and very helpful in accommodating our changes. Both my wife and I absolutely believe he has gone above and beyond with his effort, communication, enthusiasm and attention to detail. Negative experience: One stars is too much for this place Service at time of booking at incredible, but once paid, there was no service at all. Not informed our flights had been downgraded, difficult to get hold of, phone calls and emails ignored. Incorrect information given which has cost us more money in the long run. Do not use this place for flights or travel, they will just take your money then forget about you if you have an issue afterwards.

Negative experience: I rarely leave negative reviews. Due to an error from the Greenhills store, my Mum was recently left stranded in Brisbane Airport with my two little cousins and had to fork out over $800 on the spot for new flights back to Newcastle. This was because there was no record of Flight Centre Greenhills having processed the booking (that she had definitely paid for) with Jetstar months prior to the trip. And trying to get a refund is a joke. Anyone having to wait up to 4 weeks for the funds, that you never should have had to part with to begin with, due to an error on Flight Centre's end is abhorrent. She is the sole provider for my sick father and had the hard earned money set aside to spend on her grandkids whom she hadn't seen for over a year. This has left her quite distressed. Imagine if one didn't have that money sitting there!

We can see on your mother's reservation that this flight was confirmed, and that this was also confirmed with Jetstar tickets for all 3 passengers - so we're unsure what has occurred here. Although rare, airlines can 'bump' customers from a flight when it is overbooked, which airlines do, to ensure full flights, despite no-showing passengers. It does sound as though your agent has started the refund process on this, and we will work to get this back to your mum as soon as we receive confirmed funds from Jetstar. Negative experience: Went in to enquiry about Mediterranean cruises was treated very well by male sales person he took all my details plus my friends details (3 of us) and I walked out with brochures. Told my friends and gave them his name, my friend phoned twice left nessage for a call back and it never came. Hence we will take our business elsewhere. Very poor service. I’ve worked in Travel and would never treat clients like that

Fantastic experience: Robert was an absolute professional throughout the entire process….. right down to being contacted by me, mid trip to totally change our plans due to Hurricanes in Florida…. 24hrs, job done our trip carried on from Chicago. Negative experience: Went to this store today to buy air tickets with hotel bookings. Didn’t even ask to sit sales lady’s first answer to me was it is not easy I don’t know why is hard to add multiple cities (Anyone can do it online). End up booking Tickets flight Center website and booking hotels elsewhere. Employee’s attitude 100% with 0% sales skills. Good luck!

Negative experience: We had an awful experience at Flight Centre Maitland with the travel agent Louise. First off we were told we didn’t need to pay any additional fees for our hotel upon arrival yet had to pay almost $800 AUD extra when we arrived at the hotel. Secondly we hired a car through flight centre, she knew we were going to the USA and she physically saw my provisional license yet when we went to pick up the car they said I could not drive in the US on my provisional licence. She should not be a travel agent!

Negative experience: I have never had a more stressful holiday thanks to the poor organisation and lack of professionalism from Flight Centre. My mum booked a trip for us and instead of being exciting leading up to it she was constantly in tears because of how unhelpful this company was. We went through multiple different agents at Flight Centre, being passed on like we were just a number, the last was friendly and did her best to fix the mess left before her which we appreciate. We changed a name on the booking over 6 months in advance only to get to a different county and no name changes had been made by Flight Centre, there was another name spelt wrong with an incorrect birthday for an international flight, we had a package booked and added extra nights, we had to downgrade rooms for one night and people were forced to share a bed because that’s what Flight Centre booked and forgot to mention to us that would be the case. A 55 year old woman and 21 year old man having to share a bed.. these are only some examples of Flight Centres incompetence. I wish we would have just booked it ourselves because that still would have been less hassle than to go through Flight Centre. Do not recommend.

Positive experience: Went there with my mother and waited along time to speak with someone. Only 2 ladies working! They were having an audit at this time(hence why no workers there). Staff are friendly and helpful tho, just a shame there's not more consultants.

Negative experience: I must express my extreme disappointment with the services provided by Flight Centre, particularly our experience with Flight Centre East Maitland. While our initial interactions were pleasant, the overall experience turned out to be a nightmare that has left a lasting negative impression. Our trip to Japan, was meant to be a celebration of joint birthdays and a once-in-a-lifetime experience, turned into a series of frustrating and disappointing events. Here are some key reasons why dealing with Flight Centre was a major letdown: • Lack of Transparency on Flight Upgrades: Our flights with Japan Airlines were initially enjoyable, even in economy class. However, the frustration began when we discovered the option to upgrade to premium economy for an additional fee. We were not informed about this during the booking process, and when we inquired about the upgrade later, we were told there were only three available seats. Given that we were traveling with children, we opted to stay in economy. This lack of transparency and missed opportunity to enhance our travel experience was disheartening. • Accommodation Booking Issues: The accommodation arrangements made through Flight Centre were subpar. We discovered that our booking was made via Expedia, and the room allocated was inferior to what we could have obtained by booking directly with the hotel. Despite expressing our desire for a luxury holiday, it seemed that Flight Centre prioritised commission over providing us with the best possible experience. • Misrepresentation of Ryokan Experience: We had specifically requested a traditional experience at a Ryokan, emphasising the need for a room with a private onsen. However, upon our arrival, we were disappointed to find ourselves assigned to a room that fell far short of our expectations, resembling accommodations one might find in budget hostels. Our access was limited to what the owner candidly described as a dilapidated toilet and washroom, offering a basin with only cold water. This was particularly unacceptable, given the morning temperature was a chilly 2 degrees Celsius. Concerned about our children's comfort, who were unwilling to bathe in an onsen with communal facilities, we inquired about the promised private onsen. To our dismay, we discovered that the private onsen was indeed available within the facility, but reservations were required. Adding to the inconvenience, it was located outdoors. When we explored this option, the rainy and cold weather meant the bath was only lukewarm. Moreover, the inadequate screening failed to create the expected privacy, rendering this alternative unsuitable. To compound our disappointment, the owners informed us that our accommodation had been booked through Expedia, which they claimed accounted for our placement on the less desirable 2nd floor with substandard toilet and washroom facilities. Hoping for a resolution, we asked if we could pay an extra fee to upgrade to first-floor rooms with private onsens, but we were informed that all such rooms were fully booked. This series of setbacks significantly marred our experience at the Ryokan, as it failed to meet the basic expectations we had communicated. The lack of transparency about the booking platform and the unavailability of the promised private onsen options were major letdowns, contributing to an overall unsatisfactory stay. • Inadequate Consideration for Luggage Logistics: Despite informing Flight Centre about our large suitcases and the need for accommodation that accepts forwarded luggage, two locations booked did not accommodate this request due to self-check-in policies. This oversight, combined with the unpleasant experience at the Ryokan, led us to cancel two accommodations and rebook ourselves. Shockingly, we were informed that the refunds would take a staggering 10 weeks to process, a timeframe that seems excessively lengthy and unacceptable. Our experience with Flight Centre East Maitland was a travel nightmare...exercise caution when entrusting your travel plans to this Travel Agency!
We're sorry to hear you're not happy with your experience Colleen. Regarding the flight upgrades, depending on the fare booked, customers will generally have the option to upgrade if they wish. If a customer requests to book economy, this is what our team will book, and if you request an upgrade, then this will be offered. Unless the team are told that you are interested in upgrading your flights, this is not something they will look into, but again, can absolutely check availability and pricing for you if you requested this. Our agents have multiple systems in which we contract product to ensure we're providing both a good experience and also great pricing for customers. Negative experience: I have never once left a bad review. But I am absolutely appalled by the service we received. We used flight centre Greenhills to book our honeymoon, only to get to the last leg of our trip and find that the money we paid to book a hotel had not been done by the agent. We were then told to 'book it ourselves' and were left even more out of pocket in a foreign country. This was almost 2 months ago and we have not received the refund we were promised and are now having all of our communications dodged. Don't put yourself through the stress and book a trip yourself.

Negative experience: My granddaughter spent her hard earned money to take my husband and myself to New York . It was the worst trip I have ever had. We told her, the consultant that we needed one of the shorter flights as I suffer with arthritis and other medical problems. The flight we were booked on was 27hrs, 2 hr stop in Seoul going over but coming back the flight was delayed so we were transferred from one flight to the next so no stop over. These flights left us so exhausted we hardly had the energy to enjoy our holiday. I will never book with them again. We are so disappointed, it was once in a lifetime holiday , we will never get to experience the beautiful places we wanted to see again.
We're sorry to see you're not happy with your experience Kaylene. We know choosing flights can be tricky to find a balance between pricing and travel time. Each customer is required to confirm their travel arrangements prior to travel, so if a customer is not happy with their option, then their consultant can change this prior to payment being made to re-quote an alternative option. Unfortunately we do not have control over flight delays as these happen for a variety of reasons and decisions are made by the airline, but we can absolutely understand your frustration when these delays occur. Negative experience: Honestly not even worth your time. From the emotionless welcome, to the effortless attempt at helping with flights. We had everything written down with dates, locations and times we want to fly and all she did was turn the screen and show us how much the flights where going to be and snarled at the fact we stated that prices weren’t going to be a problem. We just wanted help with booking it all and we never got the help we needed. Left after 10 minutes and won’t be returning again. Happy to take your money when it comes down to it but they just don’t want to help with organising your trip. ITS THEIR BLOODY JOB, HOW HARD IS IT!

Negative experience: My Mum has been through a lot of BS. Mum had to change my grand fathers flights a few times as he has brain cancer so she had to move them around to cater for his specialist appointments and health. She explained this to her original travel agent but she didn’t care. She ignored emails. Ignored phone calls. Mum finally got things organised but that was by a different travel agent at the same agency. The new travel agent sorted it in 3 hours when my mum was trying to sort it out for 2 months with the original travel agent. Telisa I think her name was. Was great. But I won’t name the agent that was terrible at her job

Negative experience: Holiday was canceled in June ( Covid), despite multiply emails,phone calls & visits still waiting for the refund. We have confirmed the cruise line has refunded our money, but flightcentre is refusing to pass onto us. Over $5000. Is a lot of money for 2 aged pensioners. Sick to death of being nice!!!!!! Just want our money back.

Fantastic experience: I am so happy I popped in on my way past. Was so lucky to have Alarna organise my Ghan trip for me and hubby. Nothing was a bother and her knowledge of Ayers Rock and the must see places were outstanding. She organised all our daily tours and suggested the best places to visit. I would highly recommend anyone planning a trip to stop by. All the girls are so friendly and helpful. Things went smoothly from start to finish. I even popped back in to share my holiday pics!! Negative experience: Went into flight centre green hills a few weeks ago with just myself and my 7 year old son. All staff members were at desks on computers etc not one person asked if they could help me. After walking around for 10 mins I gave up and left just as I was leaving a older couple walked in staff member went straight to them and asked if they could help. They must of thought I didn’t have money to spend so just ignored me I went straight to another travel agent in centre and bought travel insurance for my Bali trip in March and booked cruise for September for my family. Also got info on Norfolk trip we are wanting to do in December with my parents. Which I will not be booking through flight centre and Never will I set foot in flight centre again!!!
Negative experience: Went in to get a flight to Townsville as the airlines were charging $1000.00 one way from Sydney, because the Cowboys got to the grand final. Asked if there was a cheaper option from Brisbane. They gave me a price $305, had told them I'd got a ticket price of $254 online. The woman dismissed it and said it wasn't a QANTAS ticket. Would not improve on what I'd found online and made no attempt to see if there was other options. Surprise, surprise, I booked the ticket online at a total cost of $266 after credit card fees. The site then sent me straight to the QANTAS website as I have a FF membership. Very poor service and lack of effort and thinking outside of the box. Definitely won't recommend nor go back with my business.
