Fantastic experience: Loved out 8 day Adelaide stay with 3 nights on the Murray Princess. Adelaide is such a beautiful city, lots to see and do. The Barossa Wine Tour is very good, and good shopping. The food on the Murray Princess was exceptional, as was the entertainer Mike Carr.

Negative experience: SCAM, DO NOT USE What can be expected from a company who claim to be a Tour Operator while in reality just a Booking Agency?! Operating under false pretenses. You will be much better off booking everything yourselves, will save a lot of stress along the way too. Our booking manager was only concerned about her pay, gave false information and was always "busy". Our ADL to Hobart flight was changed from Direct to a Stop over. This wasn't acceptable. We had to deal with the airline ourselves and ended up cancelling and re-booking the flight. It took Discover Australia 3 months to refund us the money that were refunded to them instantly. All the while they were telling us how we should be grateful that the refund was being processed and how long it took to receive the money from the supplier. They gave us "Bonus Vouchers". The only voucher we could use was for a shop that does not exist. The tours are booked with no considerations to your preferences. Trip to MONA was a complete waste of time & money. Aside from a pretty view, the Museum is a weird collection of a weird gambler.

Fantastic experience: I booked a trip to explore Perth. Discover Australia customised for me as I live in Perth hence didn't require flight and hotel transfer services. I dealt with Renny Liu consultant. Renny was and has been very professional, helpful and answers every query promptly including emails. Very lovely to speak to on phone and explains everything in details. I would rate her 11/10. About the trip, I've been enjoying every bit, meeting new people, exploring different places, I feel so happy. I'm glad I did it. The choice of hotel (Nesuto apartments) has been so great, very lovely & clean apartments. I feel like home far away from home. Sadly, my trip ends tomorrow . I can't wait to book more trips with discover Australia in eastern states. I'm interested in Sydney and Melbourne. I also did Europe tour with Holiday Max which I believe is the same company and the classic Europe Trip was epic. Keep doing the great job. Talk to you guys soon for Japan trip.

Fantastic experience: We just recently did Discover Australia Hobart & Launceston All-inclusive with Wineglass Bay 12 day touring package. We were completely happy with all the organization for us from flights, airport transfers, accommodation and tours. We were fortunate to have good weather most of the time. Fantastic experience: We had a great trip on The Ghan with stops in Alice and Darwin. We had great experiences with their team, nothing was an issue, and they always responded very quickly. The Ghan is amazing. The side tour to Ayers Rock is a very very long day (6 am to 12.30 am), would recommend that you take the additional night at Ayres Rock. The only downside was the hotel Stay in Alice, tired and not clean. Despite that, all in all a great experience and can highly recommend it.

Positive experience: A great option for a hassle-free, action packed holiday! So convenient to have the accommodation, shuttles, activities and meals all planned out. We did the Cairns 4-night package which definitely packed a lot into three days! It was amazing to see everything I wanted to see in Cairns, if not super tiring. I do wish Discovery Tours Australia listed the timings of their tours (Day 2 in the Daintree Rainforest was 12 hours, and while it was breathtaking, I was ready to go home after like 8 hours and I wish I'd known beforehand how long it was going to be). My favourite day of the three days was the day in Kuranda, which I wasn't expecting, but I loved having so much free time in the middle to explore the village and have some alone time with my partner. Overall it was a great experience and I'd definitely book with them again, I'd just enquire about how long everything takes beforehand! The tour guides we had each day were also very knowledgeable and friendly - James in particular was lovely.

Positive experience: Easy to deal with company. Most things on our trip were great & i would use them again apart from one of our tours being swapped without telling us. Our Barossa Valley tour from Adelaide was swapped to a McLaren Vale tour but we weren't informed & only found out once we were on the bus. even though we still had a good day the Barossa tour was a main attraction to the package I booked. I have been promised a refund for the tour price difference, so will see if that happens.

Fantastic experience: Discover Australia Holidays Port Douglas 6 day tour. We had a great experience from start to finish. The booking was quick and easy. Everything just fell into place when we were away. Accomodation was just beautiful. Location was perfect. The tours were brilliant. Tour guides and drivers were so knowledgeable. Port Douglas was amazing, so laid back and relaxed. Only problem was we had to leave!

Negative experience: Unhelpful & Incompetent Do not deal with these people if you value customer service in any form. After taking 8 months to process a refund, not even so much as an acknowledgment or apology of their poor service.

Positive experience: This is the 2nd time I have used Discover Australia and I would use them again. They co-ordinate and communicate extremely well and you actually get to speak to a real human.

Fantastic experience: We did a 12 day Brisbane to Adelaide, Train to Darwin, fly to Broome then back to Brisbane. Everything was organised to the minute and when something out of there control happened the communicated online straight away. We will definitely book with them again.

Their arrangements were excellent, they dealt with external changes without any hassles and all of their arrangements were accurate down to the tiny details like a private table booked on the lunchtime river cruise and premium meal option on a bus trip. Fantastic experience: Went on a 4day/ 5 night holiday to cairns. Stayed at Cairns colonial club resort which was wonderful with swimming pools and nice decor. The 2 excursions to Green Island and Kuranda where wonderful. We had a day in Cairns to site see and went in by public transport on the 123 bus . 15 mins trip time ( bus stop at BP petrol station 5 mins walk from resort). In Cairns saw Esplande (free swimming pool), museum, art gallery, aquarium. Flights and transfer all worked well. Staff at Cairns colonial club resort where very helpful. Great value.

Fantastic experience: A very trustworthy and reliable company. They choose possibly the best options to visit while you're at your destination. All the logistics is well thought-out and on time so you never have time to get bored. Within my six days in Cairns I visited Wildlife Habitat in Port Douglas, Mossman Gorge and Daintree River, Cairns itself with its cathedral and museum, I was on a dinner cruise, then we went on Green Island and reef to snorkel. The last day included the skyrail from Cairns to Kuranda Village with 2 stops on the way to see the rainforest and the Barron Falls, which are truly remarkable. The whole was enhanced by the Kuranda Army Duck experience and the unbelievably amazing rail journey through the rainforest from Kuranda Village to Cairns. Unforgettable memories

Negative experience: Indian Pacfic rail journey in July from Perth to Sydney booked through Discovery Holidays. Once the booking was made, difficult to make contact; unless money was due. Final vouchers arrived just a few days before departure marked " Urgent Late Booking" after they finally took my call. However the booking was made at least 6 months earlier! The prepaid transfer from Sydney Central to the airport failed to appear. I paid for a taxi and forwarded the receipt to Discovery for reimbursement. No apology, no explanation and a refusal to refund the taxi fare. Never again. Avoid Discovery and book direct with the provider.

Fantastic experience: We had a fabulous trip on The Ghan, the team at Discover Australia and on the Ghan were professional, friendly and very helpful - couldn’t fault them. Our off train excursions were great, we saw such beautiful places and learned so much about the Indigenous peoples and culture. Our transfers from train to accommodation and later accommodation to airport were on time and easy. Our accommodation was comfortable, clean and close to the city centre in Darwin. We’ll be talking about this holiday for some time.

Fantastic experience: What an absolutely amazing experience. The Ayres Rock resort is very central located, and offer a free bus ride from 10:30am until midnight 12:30. All daily tours and activities leave from your accommodation or one very close by. There’s a supermarket, post office, specialty stores, a few cafes and eateries all located within walking distance from your accommodation. There’s also a great pub (only a short bus ride from the main resort unless you’re staying at the accommodation provided) that serves cold beers, great food and provides night entertainment. Ulura and Kata Jtuta (The Olga’s) will leave you breathless!!! The actual size and grandeur of these rocky outcrops has to be witnessed to be believed. The Field of Lights sunrise tour and the twighlight sunset tour and drone show are nothing short of spectacular and are both a must do, as is the dining under the stars. Take a bus ride out to the camel farm even if you’re not keen to ride. It’s absolutely amazing and free!! I opted to do a few of the extra activities not included in the package at my own expense which included my first ever helicopter flight. It was an amazing experience, something I’ll remember forever and was well and truly worth the extra expense. I highly recommend Ayres Rock as a holiday destination. The experience will stay with you forever!!!

Positive experience: Moving lots of people to different locations on time means efficiency in communication and administration and this is done very well. This is my second holiday - the hotel on this occasion was poor run down things didn’t work or were broken and the breakfast very disappointing scarce choice no healthy options. I suggest a hotel upgrade for this holiday

Fantastic experience: Green island beautiful small beach with white sand and nearby good coral view's trips, Mossman gorge amazing spot for river bathing middle of rainforests serenity, kuranda village trip uphill by sky rail and downhill by rail both amazing trips with view's of beautiful rainforests and waterfalls, duck army boat ride with commentary inside rainforests is also worth it.. overall sightseeing arrangements by discover tours were good, the hotel Ramada was basic only more hotel options should be given, Ramada location is good but room and food is basic only . Cape tribulations and 4 mile beach port Douglas were also excellent.. the sea road drive from port Douglas to Cape tribulations amazing view's was beautiful.memorable trip to cairns

Negative experience: Having booked & paid 18 months in advance our trip has had changes from advertised format & cost more. We are now less than two weeks from leaving & still have no documents so unable to reserve flight seats. The company has major email issues & cannot send anything to a bigpond address. As an experienced traveller I find this very unsatisfactory & something not experienced with any other company.

Positive experience: We took the 12 day all inclusive tour of Alice Springs, the Ghan and then Darwin. As someone said before, all the worry is taken out of organising with Dis Aus Hols. Some of the guides were exceptional and we learned so much. The accommodation in Darwin, however, could have been in a better location. There are so many hotels on the esplanade - and yet we were inland where you struggled to find somewhere to eat. That was a real shame. It actually put a bit of a dampner on our trip.

Every tour was excellent, accommodation was excellent, we could not fault them in any way. We are looking forward to another trip with this organisation.

Fantastic experience: We have had five holidays with Discover Australia over the last few years and every one of them has been perfect insofar as the planning and administration by DA is concerned - we have highly recommended them to our friends and will use them again soon.

Negative experience: The accomodation was knowingly booked incorrectly with inappropriate sleeping arrangements to save at least $1000. While the tours were all there, it was so poorly planned with over 24 hrs on a bus, driving past the same places two days in a row. A whole day on the bus for one tiny 2 hour river cruise. If I could give a negative star I would because the only thing that made this holiday good was the places we went. It ruined a family holiday and we stood up for what we needed in the way of accomodation and they refuse to pay for one extra room to safely and comfortably accomodate our large group. First and last time.

Fantastic experience: The all inclusive Cairns trip was a great experience and the activities were excellent.

Negative experience: Careful booking with Discover Australia. Long story short the charged me without confirming the plan details beforehand. So, initially, I talked with Craig. When I asked for a few details about the trip, he told me that first I have to make the booking request. So I made a booking request in the website and mentioned Craig's name on it, expecting that Craig will manage the booking and call me as he said in the conversation that he will confirm before any money is cut from account. Next, another person, Matt, emailed me asking few details about the name of the passengers. I replied to that email and next thing I know they have confirmed the booking without confirming with me first. No calls or anything. They just took $4000 without my authorisation or confirmation. I did not appreciate that, so I wanted to cancel the trip. Now they are saying "A Booking request is an authorisation". And they will charge me for the hotel booking as it is non-refundable. So if I cancel my booking $2000 will be gone. That's just great. First and last time. EDIT: Discover Australia came back to me after listening to recordings. They gave me a $500 voucher for the trip. I was already tired with back and forth, so took the easy option. The trip overall was good, no complaints about the organization. It was fine. Everything was on time. If you don’t want to think at all and travel, it can be an option for you. I just don’t think it is for me with all the hassle. P. S. They offered two $500 vouchers, one for the current trip and one if I book with them again.

Positive experience: Excellent all round trip, the Crocodile Jumping trip was more like a Circus act than a Nature trip. The Outback Radio Station was also not very interesting. otherwise the holiday was very good, with first class Hotel in Darwin , except the Hotel was too far out of the central area and required a Taxi to get anywhere. Bunk Beds are not suitable for the older travelers. Cleaning of shower area was a non event.

I can highly recommend Discover Australia Holidays, accommodation was amazing, tours were all booked for us and very enjoyable. All tours were as described. We felt we got value for money. All tour guides were so knowledgeable and helpful. A standout for us was the dinner under the stars, sitting under the Milky Way, just WOW.
