Negative experience: So I have my Peugeot Partner insured with RAA big mistake, there so called commercial vehicle insurance is not a commercial vehicle policy, its a domestic policy dressed up as a commercial vehicle policy. I was on my way to an event the weekend just gone had my Gelato Display freezer towed by my vehicle in my trailer, hit a pothole on the dukes highway which caused damaged to my display freezer and render my freezer unusable. Ring up to claim the freezer to get a replacement, they deem my $10,000 Mondial Framec Mirabella C7G display freezer (bought second hand) a "Personal Item" not a "Tool of the Trade" and will only cover $1500 of a $10,000 display freezer. And then told me they don't have a specific coverage for goods in transit, which is a standard inclusion on "all" commercial vehicle policies with other companies that would've covered the freezer. As a commercial business I will always have goods on board, that would need to be in transit. So being told a Display freezer which is a commercial piece of equipment and a requirement for me to trade as a Gelato Business. Is not a personal item, my claim is currently pending, if I don't get the result I require, I will have no choice but to raise the issue with AFCA to get a more appropriate outcome. There policies are a joke and they are scamming Australian small businesses, if you have a commercial vehicle insured with RAA, I'd recommend changing to a more appropriate commercial vehicle insurer. All the RAA will do is cost you work, money and time. And end up causing ruin to your business. But here's an example of how ludicrous there clause sounds, lets say you are towing a 0.5T excavator behind your commercial vehicle on the way to a job site, and the excavator gets damaged in transit, they will deem the $100,000 excavator a "Personal Item" and only pay $1500 to repair or replace it, now there is a chance the excavator could be covered by separate insurance, but if it is not your on the hook for $100,000 tool of the trade, that is towed by your commercial work vehicle. Does this not sound ludicrous, but that is essentially the attitude taken by the RAA anything you are carrying with your commercial work vehicle, whether in it or towed by it, it is classified as a personal item, and technically not covered for more than $1500.

Fantastic experience: I had a flat tyre yesterday and I had this brand new ebike [bought two days ago]. We were close to the shop where we bought our two ebikes so we went there but they were closing within 15mn so they didn't take the time to repair it, they only said 'Call RAA". My husband bought a new tyre with an inner tube in the shop as RAA is more for the cars. Michael from RAA came and even if he didn't know anything on ebikes, he with my husband did a great job. Michael was very friendly and very helpful.Nothing better than RAA with such a great customer service. A huge THANK YOU to RAA and Michael.

Negative experience: Just like to start by saying I've been a member of the RAA for over 2 decades. In July 2023 I decided to buy a home and contents insurance policy from them as they offered a discount to members. About two weeks ago I received an email stating that my premium would be going up by over 30%. I asked for a reduction because seriously, how is a 30% hike per year sustainable for anyone?? The request was rejected and that member discount turned into a massive loyalty tax. Thanks RAA, I remember when you were decent local company, how things have changed. Update - I contacted RAA again as they suggested in their reply to my original review so that they could take a "closer look" at my policy renewal. The only option they gave me to lower my premium was to reduce the level of my insurance cover, that's helpful! I cancelled the RAA policy and switched to AAMI for a whopping saving of $100 per month with increased insurance cover. What a joke.

Positive experience: Not very good experience today. Firstly, I had my new car inspected for Uber driving.But it didn’t pass and I paid extra money to recheck it just because it didn’t look very clean. Alright, I can understand it is the requirement of Uber driving. But the customers can avoid unnecessary cost if the check list can be sent to customers prior to checking. Secondly, the male receptionist asked for my drivers license without asking for my address straight away but didn’t check my drivers license properly and put the wrong address on my certificate.Then the female receptionist replied to me that I should tell them that my current address is at back of the license .What? Checking the back of DRIVERS license for address is not a common sense? What’s more, u do this job every day. In addition, once I came through to the counter and said I need recheck my car. The first response of the female receptionist was saying that U need book it first but not working in which made me lough. Why u know I didn’t book it?I had the appointment email. Finally, the mechanic for checking updated my address on the certificate. I am glad with him.

Negative experience: your road side assist people are pretty useless.. called out on 3 different occasions to be told everytime its the starter motor even after replacing it twice .. and was told to get it towed again.. turns out the problem was a battery clamp.. as if your people with all their fancy garbage couldnt pick that up on 3 different occasions..

Negative experience: Time waste insurance company. Someone hit my car and i tried to get as much details as i can . But he only gave me half details and run away . I called police and tell them whole stituation they gave me police report number and tell me to contact my insurance company . And when i called Raa they said sorry we can’t help u . Negative experience: I’m just reviewing the one travel agent we booked in with and (they) were kinda incompetent. They had to keep asking for help from a coworker about how to do things on the computer. While they were giving airfare quotes I was finding options that were cheaper and with shorter layovers myself on my phone. And when it came to hotel/resort recommendations, they just asked me what ones I’d been looking at already and then showed my pictures and prices I’d already seen of the hotel that I had just said I’d already looked at. I get you can’t be an expert on all areas of the world but I would have thought RAA would have had a resort recommendation for the most popular tourist spot in Mexico. We did get a good quote for travel insurance (though that’s more to do with being an RAA member than good work on the agent’s part), and the experience as a whole gave me the confidence to do all the bookings for my holiday independently…so that was good.

We’ve looked into this for you and our team have let us know that often flights that are served up on Google or the web can display as very cheap but they may be made up of a combination of airlines with no affiliation with one-another, meaning you’d have to collect your bag, go through customs and re-check in again. This is different to what airfares we’re shown through our agent bookings (these are those which are affiliated connecting flights). Negative experience: The first car I purchased in 1998 was insured with RAA. Since then, all cars I ever had RAA was the go-to insurer. All three current cars at home are insured with RAA. Even my mum's car I insured for her are with them. Home and content with RAA. Landlord/content insurance with RAA. Recently, I noticed that every 6 months, my premium on my 2018 Mercedes-AMG C43 was increasing by hundreds of dollars. I rang to query about this and the best discount they could offer me was approximate $75 total for 6months (as a result off reducing sum insured and decreased kms per year) And had the nerves to hint in a reply email that I may not be quality for the Lifetime Vehicle Replacement if I make a claim if i was to proceed with reducing the sum insured. When in previous email correspondence and phone conversation, they made it clear I fit the criteria and qualified for Lifetime Vehicle Replacement. 25 years of loyalty meant nothing. Disappointed and see no reasons to recommend this outfit. Once various policies expires it will be time to move on. As they don't take care of existing customers.

Negative experience: Disgraceful and embarrassing treatment of travel staff by management. My travel agent is amazing but is hamstrung by inept seniors. A very uncomfortable environment for customers when this is in full view. I would encourage my wonderful agent to seek a better employer.

Fantastic experience: This is a great way to recycle your old kids car seats. It cost $5 per seat, no appointment needed. Just drive up and hand over the seat. They don't take cash.

Negative experience: I had a very very bad experience with the RAA. I've been with them for years and years. I slipped on a blanket as I was getting out of bed and I crashed into the built-in robes. The centre door that that contains the mirror splinted into 1,000 pieces causing the other two doors to fracture the RAA said. We'll only cover the door that contains the glass and I've had two companies out here and they're both said we cannot fix one door without the other. We need to fix the whole 3 of them. I took out home and contents inside, as I live in a unit and the statra corporation will only cover the outside of the building as per stated in the insurance contract. So I felt covered knowing I had the RAA behind me for contents and the building inside, of the unit. I attempted to claim under my Building and contents policy they said NO WE WILL ONLY FIX THE DOOR WHICH HAS THE GLASS IN IT. I have a policy which is called accidental accident insurance which l pay a premium payment to RAA. They again said NO I CONTACTED YOUI INSURANCE AND I PUT THE SCENARIO WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPENED TO ME, TO THEM AND THEY SAID I WOULD HAVE BEEN COVERED. I WAS QUITE UPSET.
Positive experience: Erin(team leader) was so friendly&helpful with all our questions today on ocean cruising and looking up info for us that wasn't standard knowledge....... Will be booking next holiday cruise with her!!!

If you don't want to be there I am sure there are others that would love this job. Still debating about going elsewhere to purchase child car seat & have it installed as haven't paid.
Positive experience: RAA Elizabeth was a busy place. Two staff at the front desk. The lady who served me had computer issues. I turned around behind me and saw that there was a long line of people behind me. It's not my problem! I usually use my phone or computer to solve problems. But this time, I had to pay a deposit on a trip I booked. It was sad that I couldn't transfer the money between my bank account as I only received the payment quote the day before, It didn't allow me to do this. So I had to go in.

Fantastic experience: Seat fittings section was phenomenal as per usual. Was here almost 5 years ago and the level of skills and service could not be faulted. Especially this time having a 4yr old running around while seats were done, very patient and friendly staff.

Due to rain could not fix first time round and had to come back on another day when not raining. Great service, Came on time as promised, completed job in minimum amount of time. Negative experience: RAA TRAVEL INSURANCE - DOT NOT USE, THEY WILL NOT PAY! Family holiday, night before school holidays, airline cancelled flight with no explanation. Only offered flight into another port with stop over. Resulted in additional (expensive) overnight accomodation and additional car hire costs to arrive at original destination a day late. $1400 additional costs. First holiday post COVID. Airline sited operational problems, RAA gave us the run around, asked for further details, after 10 weeks only agreeing to pay out $400. Buyer beware! Go Covermore travel insurance, reliable and payout when genuine issues arise.

Negative experience: I’m extremely frustrated with the inspection that I got on my car in august of this year. I paid $300 to ensure that there weren’t any issues with the car that I was unaware of. I stated in the inspection that I was suspicious the bushes on the car needed replacement. Once I got the report back it listed purely superficial problems i.e paint scratches, tint peeling etc. I was informed that the bushes needed replacement but as far as mechanical issues the car is fine. I picked up the car from them and tried to drive it home, lucky I stopped for petrol and smelt something off. The RAA had left the radiator cap off. To make it worse after as little as 2 months of owning this car it became apparent after a really severe engine over heating issue that the car had a hose that desperately needed replacement due to age and lack of durability. While driving this hose burst and my engine is not longer functional. You’d think issues like this would be exactly what I’d paid to have checked.

Negative experience: I got in touch with RAA on a Friday afternoon to get a cover policy for a property we were going to bid on at auction on the Saturday , for a cover note. Instead of telling us they don’t do cover notices they kept us on hold and gave us the run around online. Then they told us to do it online, then after spending time filling it all in online we received a message that we had to call them back to clarify somewhere things. Then after that the gentleman on the phone told us that they can’t do the policy at all because the house wasn’t ours yet- and we are NOT covered, and to call back Monday morning if we were successful at auction( which is not a viable option if you’ve made a large purchase like a home !) Then we received a text saying we DO have a policy (HP 00236945) and we have to get in touch with RAA so they can have a way to charge us. We ignored this and we have now been sent an invoice. Needless to say we DONT want this policy and I want you to cancel it and I don’t want to have to call and spend time on the phone again and we won’t be paying the invoice for the policy that RAA wasn’t able to do in the first place…..!
Negative experience: Tonight I got an online quote to insure contents of a duplex, $256 from APIA, $272 from QBE with $250 excess, and $413 from RAA with $500 excess... last month I got quotes for 2004 Pulsar comprehensive from Allianz, SGIC, RAA - RAA was $380 MORE than Allianz, to insure car for $1000 LESS... ditto a 2002 Commodore ute, RAA was $350 more to insure for $700 less - why is anyone insured with this mob ? Dealing with them is chaotic - took in documents to them a few years ago, my father had a policy with them, and they LOST THE DOCUMENTS BETWEEN THE GROUND FLOOR AND THE UPPER FLOOR WHERE THE INSURANCE STAFF WORK - waited a few weeks, heard nothing, called them - they go " documents ? what documents ? "... Useless.

He came out late at night to looked at my car, and was able to recommend some RAA approved mechanics in my local area that may be able to assist first thing the next morning. Brenton was very efficient and provided me with all the details I needed to get my car fixed quickly and easily!
Negative experience: Never go for a vehicle inspection. Took a car after getting it all checked from mechanic, changed 2 tyres etc. Still they said one tyre isn't good failed, I don't think so tyre has any issue. Just ridiculous checking criteria.
Negative experience: After inspection of my car guy put new sticker on the windscreen and he didn’t clean the glue of old sticker and I asked him to clean that and he behaved very rudely.
Fantastic experience: The lady was amazing. I learned more than I thought I ever would. About fitting and safety of my Grandbabies car seat that was checked today to make sure it was fitted correctly. Thankyou so much

Negative experience: Takes hours to get hold of any human to talk about claims over the phone. Claimed for a content, accidental damage, sent quote as well, been over a month, still no response. If this is how they deal with claims, I am thinking of switching my home and content insurance to somewhere else where I would get better and faster resolution

I gave my car to there local depo only for it to have several more damages been done.. when I call and explained my situation RAA stated the the problem will be sorted but has taken since the middle of last year to hear any feedback.. since then I have had to spend a small fortune repairing there damages..

Negative experience: Without a doubt one of the worst examples of customer service after making an insurance claim where I was 100% not at fault. Over 3 weeks to get car assessed. Complaints lodged with complaints department to try and expedite claim and assessment, minimum of an hour on hold waiting to talk to someone then only to be told that someone would get back to me as soon as possible and it does not happen. All very anxious to take your premiums but when it comes to making a claim, look out. Would never recommend that anybody use RAA car insurance
Negative experience: Twice had to deal with this company on a motor accident claim where we were 100% not at fault. Waiting on phone calls, a number of them over a period of time for a half an hour and then it rings out, trying for over a week to have some communication, emails go unanswered. This company is as bad as any company I have had the misfortune to deal with. Time to contact the CEO to ask what sort of organization is he running!! If you are thinking of using them for insurance, think again and God help if you are involved in a claim!!
Fantastic experience: Went to check and fit child restraint (seats). Very helpful, friendly and knowledgeable staff. They had plenty of good quality child restraint seats to choose from at reasonable prices. They fitted them and all good They certainly know what is required.
Negative experience: Extremely Bad Experience!!! Money taken out from my bank account even though I am not a customer of thiers!! RAA allow fraudulent activities and refuse to rectify even all details and evidence are provided, so if you are looking to become a customer of thiers, be extra careful with your card details.

Fantastic experience: I needed an Interstate Safety Certificate for NSW rego for my trailer as I am in SA keeping safe away from Sydney and covid. I booked in and found staff courteous professional and polite in dealings with me. They came and took my motorhome and trailer through gates leaving me away from vehicle and after the inspection the guy came and told me he found everything is good working and safe and PASSED the inspection. He informed me they email it to service NSW and gave me the original. Punctual, Polite, Professional at RAA Mile End
Negative experience: Claim was submitted nice and promptly however dealing with the total loss team left a lot to be desired. I was calling every day sometimes several times a day to get updates on the claim. Each time I’d call I would get the same response “someone will call you shortly” as expected a call never came. No updates where given until I had lodged an internal complaint with RAA and a complaint with AFCA. The payout we where expecting was for the sum insured amount however RAA reduced it to limit their liability. As of current the claim is still ongoing, I have never had an issue making a claim with them before however if your vehicle gets deemed a total loss all I can say is good luck.
Fantastic experience: Fantastic professional customer service!!
Negative experience: Had a child seat fitting with Amy and Bob. Whilst Bob was fantastic, friendly and chatty, he was serving other customers and only came over to help towards the end. Amy was the complete opposite. Rude, condescending and icy. She did not have great communication skills and it felt like she didn’t want to be there.
Fantastic experience: Easy parking out the front. Well organised front reception to direct you. Excellent Covid check in service. Friendly staff.
