Fantastic experience: We had such an amazing time at Nomads Noosa. The location is ideal, close to the bus stop, shops and walking distance to the beach. The hostel is really sociable and the staff were all so welcoming. Our rooms were all ensuite and the pool was an added bonus!

Fantastic experience: Ben makes really good coffee. Maggie was my best beachvolleyball mate I could wish for. The whole staff was really nice!! ;)

Negative experience: Had a 2 night stay in a large mixed dorm. Unfortunately I found Nomads to be the worst place I’ve stayed at so far. The staff on at reception were friendly enough however when I got to my room, it looked as though it hadn’t been cleaned in months. There was thick layers of dust everywhere, the wall-mounted fan was covered in a layer of dusty cobwebs. There was sand all over the floor which then got into my bed. The toilet was fairly grotty and has a strong smell of stale wee :( Our dorm not only housed backpackers but a family of cockroaches too! Several I had to swat with my sandals, not what you expect from a hostel. The only benefit of the hostel is that it’s located in a perfect area. Wouldn’t stay here again

Negative experience: Worst hostel I have stayed in whilst travelling the east coast. The staff are incredibly rude and do not care about you. Our AC was not working for all the nights I stayed there and the staff did not care or help. The reception shuts at 8 and kitchen at 9pm. I needed water but they made me line up to get get access to the bar because there was a party so I need to get ID’d (I was in my pajamas with no intention on staying in the hostel bar). The rooms are cramped with barely any space.

Fantastic experience: I had an amazing stay at Backpacker Nomads in Noosa Heads! The location is perfect – close to the beach, shops, and the beautiful Noosa National Park. The hostel has a laid-back and social atmosphere, making it easy to meet other travelers. A special shoutout to Ben on the staff! He was incredibly friendly, always ready to help, and made sure everyone felt welcome. His local tips and advice really enhanced my experience in Noosa. The facilities were clean and well-maintained, the kitchen was great for cooking, and the organized activities added so much fun to the stay. If you’re looking for an affordable, fun, and well-located hostel, Backpacker Nomads is the place to be. I’ll definitely be back!

Negative experience: Travel Tip: Steer Clear of This Hostel I’ve stayed at several Nomads hostels while backpacking the east coast, so I wasn’t expecting luxury—Nomads’ “standards” are a well-known thing. But this one didn’t even manage to reach the usual level of chaos. Let’s start with the kitchen, which appears to have been set up in what I can only describe as a mold-infested bunker turned fly sanctuary. Honestly, your odds of surviving street food in New Delhi seem better than attempting to cook here. And even if you were brave enough to try, prepare to embrace your inner caveman—cutlery is a rare commodity. Based on Nomads’ logic, one fork per 30 people should suffice. Pro tip: Bring your own spoon or practice the fine art of eating rice with your hands. A moment of silence, please, for the poor souls tasked with cleaning this disaster zone. It’s like trying to bail water from the Titanic with a teaspoon—utterly hopeless. Now, onto the staff. If you were expecting smiles and a friendly vibe, think again. It seems like any remaining joy has been sucked out of them, replaced by a combo of rude remarks and a power-hungry attitude. At this point, I’m not sure if they’re running a hostel or just playing “Survivor: Guest Edition.”

Negative experience: I have visited many unpleasant places in my life: Siberia, Auschwitz, and the Sahel in North Africa. However, those experiences pale in comparison to my time with the nomads in Noosa. After sleeping on the streets one night, I thought I had hit rock bottom, but I was mistaken. The combination of rude staff, moldy rooms, and a filthy kitchen creates a hellish experience. The kitchen is perpetually dirty, lacks sufficient services, and is treated poorly by guests. It’s a miracle I didn’t contract cholera after just one night. In short, I would rather sleep in a public toilet than stay here for free—at least the toilet doesn’t have a British receptionist trying to steal my backpack when I’m not looking.

Negative experience: Too expensive for what you get, probably the worst hostel I’ve stayed in in Australia so far

Negative experience: You don't get a minute's rest in this hostel. During the day, music is played far too loudly outside from 10 am until late at night, so that you can neither sleep in the evening nor want to sit outside during the day. The staff are rather unfriendly and distant. In general, the hostel makes a rather cheap and dirty impression

Positive experience: The social aspect of this hostel is great everyone is super friendly! Staff are so nice and helpful. There’s always an event going on at the club here, KBs. Definitely recommend the Bingo we had such a fun night. The rooms are very clean and beds are comfy. The only issues were a very very dirty and small kitchen. For some reason no one cleans their dishes at this hostel so sinks are just constantly full of disgusting mess. The other issue was that the cleaners come in at 10am, turn on lights, have very loud conversations and bring a speaker playing loud music with them whilst they clean.

Fantastic experience: The location is great, near to the beach, the dorms are big and comfortable, the bathrooms and common areas are always clean. The bar is far enough to not be heard during the night. The best is the people working here, so lovely and always willing to help you if you need it.

Fantastic experience: From the moment I walked in Nomads Noosa I felt so welcomed, the receptionists are so nice and they told me everything I needed to know about Noosa. Can’t recommend this place enough, I’m definitely coming back, specially for Ben’s iced coffee!

Fantastic experience: I am not really good at making friends, but this vibe controllers, specially Maggie helped me a lot and now I can say that at least I have one good friend. The facilities are great, specially the kitchen the girls in the bar they know how to pour pints. I really recommend Noosa Nomads. I will be back.

Positive experience: The place is really really beautiful. It‘s near the beach and also the club next to the hostel is good but the service could be better. The service was not attentive no matter in which case. I think they could accommodate more to their guests.

Positive experience: Nice little hostel near the centre of the town and about a 30 minute walk from the beach. They have a pub next to reception, their pricing module is pretty scammy, they chraged us a 10% fee for holidays, and when we asked what holiday it is they said it's Noosa Nomads holiday, which is not a real thing. rooms are ok, i was in a 16 bed dorm and the sleep was as good as you can imagine.

Negative experience: Worst hostel ever … dirty everywhere, staff put music loud in the speaker at 7am . Disgusting

Negative experience: By far the worst hostel we have ever stayed in! We rented a private room for 3 nights. Also in a 16-bedded room for 1 night. When we arrived in the room we realized that the room was definitely not cleaned. In addition to the bathroom, where there was still toothpaste residue and a thick layer of dust, there were even used underpants under the bed. But that wasn't all: the shower was faulty - it was constantly dripping very loudly, which could be heard throughout the room and was almost unbearable to sleep in. As soon as we found out, we were told at reception that they knew the problem was there (they still rented us this room normally) and that someone would fix it today. On this day, as expected, no one came to fix the problem - the room was cleaned again on request, but even after that it was still really unclean. Also the next day we were assured that someone would fix the shower - of course no one came. And as expected, it was not repaired on the 3rd day either - we were not taken seriously at all. On the fourth night we changed to a dorm (then went on a K'gari tour) and in the 16-bed dorm there were only 2 showers (the light was broken in one of them) and a toilet, which was simply not enough. Since the hotel was so bad in our opinion, we decided not to stay there again and therefore stayed in a motel in Noosa. Despite a small refund from the hostel, it really was an absolute disaster.

Negative experience: The rooms are okay. Kitchen closes at nine already so you need to have done your cooking and wash up by then which can get really tight if you are having a packed day. It was raining the whole time yesterday and a lot of the hostel does not have a roof so really no fun experience when it is raining. If you extend your stay never do so through reception. It was a good 10-15% higher cost than if I would have done it through the internet. Also I was only told that I would need to move rooms after I already paid.

The rooms were very clean and spacious! The bathroom was a little grubby and an odd layout. Kitchen facilities were okay! We went to bingo night in the bar and it was really great! Would definitely recommend this hostel!

Positive experience: Overall a very good hostel experience. The check in was okay, you have to download an app for your room key which was fine except the WiFi isnt the fastest so it took about 15 minutes to complete. The check in forms are also done on your phone but the staff were happy to assist with any issues we had. The room felt very luxurious for a hostel and considering the price. It was clean and the shower and toilet were functional. The hostel is connected to a bar which seems to have events every night of the week, so there's always something to do if that's what you're into. We didn't go to the event, but there wasn't too much noise and music stopped at a reasonable time. There is outdoor common space. The kitchen facilities were a bit of a let down. There was very limited space to prepare food even at off peak times. The kitchen facilities weren't very clean and overall it wasn't easy to make food, which is quite important to us. Finally, the best part about this hostel was that you can hire a surfboard for the day for free, by leaving your ID at the reception as a deposit! Very nice experience and would stay here again when visiting the area.

Fantastic experience: Myself and my partner stayed here the night before our K'gari Safari tour. Rachel was super lovely and put us in a private queen room which was modern, clean and spacious. They have a bar and really affordable meals at the hostel too! It's also a short walk away from the beach and Noosa main street.

Fantastic experience: This is a great place to stay. The staff were friendly and helpful. I stayed in the 16 bed room and had a pleasant experience, all the people were nice and chatty, and the room was clean. Only slight issue I had was that there was only one toilet in the room, which at times was slightly frustrating, however not a game changer. Kitchen is clean, bar had a nice vibe, also it's not mentioned much but there is FREE SURFBOARD HIRE! There's 4 boards on offer on a first come first served basis, good boards and virtually no time limit. Would come back, would recommend.

Events are organized if that's what you want. Plenty of travellers going through the hostel & reasonably priced. Shootout to Ben on reception for great service.
