Fantastic experience: I was able to speak to someone straight away and wasn't kept on hold for ages. I spoke with Tessi a couple of times asking the typical first time cruiser questions. Tessi is very polite, courteous, patient and professional. I definitely recommend cruise gurus for booking. Negative experience: Bought cruise on Black Friday sales and found same deal, cabin area on the cruise lines site and another companies site for $800 to $1000 cheaper. And less deposit and a month longer to finalise. When I questioned you asked for evidence which I provided. By the time you responded the deal was gone so feeling very ripped off. Celebrity offered 75% off for 2nd passenger you only gave 50%. Would be happy with an appropriate amount of perks but nothing. Unlikely to be back again.

Negative experience: Go through the cruise company or another agent. This company terrible to deal with. Deposits are non refundable but they are through the cruise line. They won't make changes with out cancellation ie taking your deposit do yourself a favor take your business elsewhere

Negative experience: Subject: Urgent Request for Refund Due to Health Issues on Celebrity Edge Cruise Dear Manager, We are writing to you regarding our recent experience on the Celebrity Edge Cruise to the Great Barrier, dated 22/10/2024. Upon our return home, I have been diagnosed with a throat infection, which my doctor confirmed is likely due to inhaling soot from the ship’s engines while we were on the sun loungers. Additionally, my wife suffered from nausea and dizziness during our time on board, detracting significantly from what was supposed to be an enjoyable experience. The Captain has been informed of our concerns; however, we feel it is important to formally request a full refund due to the serious health issues we encountered. Considering the circumstances, we believe this is a reasonable resolution. I also have a video documenting the soot situation, which I can provide upon request. Negative experience: I booked a cruise using the Cruise Guru website but the payment did not go through. I received an email asking me to call to resolve the issue. Because I had a coupon code but forgot to use it, when I called, I asked to cancel my reservation so I could make a new one. A lady answered my call and she insisted on helping me resolve the issue. Two hours later, she called back and told me that she had made a new booking for me. She said the new booking was the same as what I requested and she added the coupon code. When I logged onto the cruise website, I found that the reservation was very different from what I had booked. For example, I booked a dinner time of 6pm and she booked us for 8:30; the price was higher than what I had booked, and other things… I called back. She said that things were beyond her control and I needed to ask when I boarded the ship… Not impressed with the service. What I should have done was wait until my booking lapsed (not paid) and booked it again myself. In that case, she will miss the commission??

Positive experience: Was able to book OK but when I contacted Cruise Guru with a question, the Cruise Guru rep seemed a little distracted and curt. I was promised a call back the help with my query but so far, she hasn't bothered to call back. Flight Centre, Clean Cruising and Imagine Holidays have tended to be more on the ball, flexible and friendlier to deal with.

Fantastic experience: These guys have performed very well. The initial booking was easy with no hassles. BUT the big difference is the service received after the initial booking. Positive experience: Our first ever cruise! Total cruise virgins & anxious at the time of booking. The booking procedure for us was fairly easy as we did it 'online' & managed to muddle through most of the info available although not everything was apparent. Therefore, following making our booking & investing a large sum of money, we were hoping that a "Guru" team member would reach out to us with confirmation & answers to any questions we had at the time, nope, nothing! After a couple of days went by we decided to call the "Gurus" ourselves. We waited for over 30 minutes (listening to bad music) when finally we were connected with a young lady that was obviously working from home (lots of background noise) she was helpful to a degree yet didn't instill a lot of confidence in us as she had to look up answers to our questions herself! We have since utilised YouTube for reviews & information pertaining to the cruise line & cruise ship. Lots more info & advise to be gathered via that media stream it seems. Will now have to wait & see how it all works out in a month's time & if we will ever cruise again.

Negative experience: Appalling customer service! Didn't answer my original email, I had to call twice to get an update on my query, both times I was told I was going to receive a call back by end of business, this never happened. When I finally received a response by email (two weeks later and after the cruise company deadline) the agent "Lisa" gave me an answer to a question I never asked! She obviously didn't bother reading my original query! I responded to her irrelevant email but never heard back. They are quick to take your money but provide no service back. They are very unprofessional, don't use them! Answer to cruise guru response: You have been in touch to acknowledge my complaint but nothing else! Never heard from them again! They are an absolute disgrace!!!

Fantastic experience: We booked a last minute cruise online and everything went smoothly. Price was better than the official cruise website displayed. The only small confusion was when we had paid in full at time of booking but the lengthy instructions later emailed to us referred to the need for a final payment.

Negative experience: Not at all impressed by this company. I previously booked a cruise thru them when they offered a good price and only $50 deposit. I did need some assistance when the cruiseline cancelled 3 ports after full payment but unlike other TA's I'd previously used, they offered little assistance. Unfortunately I decided to use them again when I saw they had a good price for another cruise I was interested in. Within days of paying a deposit, which actually ended up about $300 more than other TA's were asking, the cruise dropped by over $1000 for 2 passengers. I know that TA's will often match the new pricing but not Cruise Guru, I was told I would need to cancel and rebook, losing the $600+ deposit. I decide that is exactly what I'd do but the rebooking was with Just Cruises, as not only was their price for the same category cheaper, but they also asked for a much lower deposit and the final payment was sometime after Cruise Gurus date for final payment. I came out a little over $300 ahead, which isn't much, and Cruise Guru got to keep their well over inflated deposit amount but that's the last money they will ever get from me.

I long to see the NZ fiords and N & S islands of this increadible country. On a cruise it's possible to see all this within the 2 weeks and enjoy relaxing time in between. Negative experience: The payment process is really confusing. I had to pay upfront via credit card for my booking, only for them to say 12hrs later that I could pay via PayID to not pay a credit card surcharge, which the surcharge amount was not shown to me at the checkout process. Was really confused as to why they asked for payment again, when they had already pre-authorised the transaction. Website was nice though and competitive pricing, but the pricing may had matched the vendor if the surcharge was there!
Hi Aglend42. We are sorry to hear of this experience. Our website does absolutely calculate and display credit card charges at checkout, it is illegal in Australia to not do so. There would/should not have been a credit card surcharge for Visa or MasterCard payments at the online checkout, and if there was, please contact our reservations team. For credit card payments made at the time of booking, only American Express transactions attract a surcharge. We hope this helps clarify any uncertainties, and we do thank you for your booking.

Negative experience: We required 10 rooms for a large family holiday. For those of us requiring 1 room only, the process was very easy. For those requiring multiple rooms for their family, the process was so difficult that they ended up going through a travel agent. It was almost impossible.
We are sorry to hear of your experience, Natasa. We do have a dedicated groups department for bookings usually of 8 cabins / 16 people or more. They take the pain out of trying to organise large group travel. We do hope you have a wonderful cruise.
Positive experience: I liked how the cruises are set out so they are easy to get details and compare pricing etc. Booking was relatively easy as well. The reason I have not given 5 stars is because it wasn’t until I got my booking confirmation days later that it said I had NOT agreed to a complimentary upgrade. Where even was that question??? Now I have no idea on how to go about changing that. This was my first time booking with Cruise Guru and only did because their price was a bit better than Cunard’s own website. But now maybe I have not got an opportunity for a complimentary upgrade, so I’m not sure if I have done the right thing now
Hi NomFitz, Many people choose not to accept a complimentary upgrade because they prefer to stick with the specific cabin number they have chosen, on the deck of their choice. Our reservations team can amend that decision for you. Give them a call on 131303 and first discuss the pros and cons of an upgrade.
Fantastic experience: I have now booked 3 cruises with Cruise Guru and have completed one. Booking and payment were both smooth and they have the best deals i have found so far.

Fantastic experience: I am not a person to compliment anyone but, the service I received I received from Cruise Guru was exceptional when booking, particularly a young lady Charmaine, I was in a mess from a previous booking I made, the original fault was completely of my making, Charmaine was a real gem gave me as much help she could ,,,and much more. Positive experience: It's a good site that makes it ease to find and book a cruise. The booking process was smooth and predictable. The only blemish is the payment. When paying by creditcard you are informed that ten days prior to the cruise you will be given the option to change your payment to direct debit (to avoid creditcard fees), however when I check my credit card statement the money has already been taken out. Normally you would expext for the moneys to be locked-up in the "authorization" state until the date when you perform the direct dabit and then the charge reversed.
Hi G C, thank you for your review. You should have received two emails prior to your final payment date offering alternative payment methods, we are sorry if you have not received those for any reason. If a direct debit hasn't been received by us by the deadline provided in those emails (which is normally a couple of days prior to final payment date to allow for any delays in funds transfer), then we need to debit the credit card otherwise the booking would get cancelled, and we don't want that. Positive experience: Completed booking including paying deposit which was quite easy. Received booking confirmation which included fees for paying balance by credit card which wasn't the case for the deposit; disappointing. Now getting many emails. Will see how it goes as time passes.
Hi David, we are sorry if it wasn't clear that credit card fees are only absorbed for the initial payment - that's whether it is full payment in one go, or a deposit. Second and subsequent credit card payment do incur fees, however we offer fee-free alternatives, you are not forced to pay by credit card. Positive experience: Good service and prices. Kylie was very helpful. My one complaint was that I did not hear back from anyone when I requested call backs, or have emails answered or questions answered via online submission. Possibly due busy, but I always had to make a call. Haven't experienced my cruise yet, but hopefully all will go well.
