Negative experience: Spoke to a lovely lady from the Visitor Centre on the phone yesterday who said I could come down with a water container that she would fill with drinking water for me, however when I arrived, the male and female working did not want to help me. I explained that I'd come down specifically for water after being told the day before that I could but they flat out refused and were very unsympathetic. I'd also bought along my recyclables as when I visited Yeppoon last year I remembered there being bins out the front that people were encouraged to use - they did not allow me to use these either. A very disappointing experience as a result of the staff who did not seem at all suited to a role working with people.

Fantastic experience: Decided to not stop at Rockhampton but come visit Yeppoon, at the information centre we were warmly greeted by Lyn & Ros, they rang around and found us a caravan park to stay in. Shared their wealth of knowledge for the area. Both were excellent ambassadors for this area

Positive experience: Nice looking place but the only thing is that it was raining and they still had the automatic sprinklers on and they spun out onto the walkway and drenched my wife not happy.

Positive experience: Staff were super friendly and helpful. They let us hide from the rain in the centre! They were able to answer all the questions we had and give us some recommendations The leaflets were well organised into different locations around yeppoon and there was a board with local events coming up. There were some nice yeppoon tourist gifts available as well!

Fantastic experience: Handy information centre highlighting the best tourist experiences the Capricorn coast has to offer. Free maps and brochures available as well as friendly helpful information provided by the lovely people that work there. Make sure you checkout the fantastic shells on show in shellworld which is situated inside the information centre. Gold coin donation and run by friendly volunteers you'll be amazed by some of the amazing shells on display. Featuring shells found on our local Australian beaches to shells from different parts of the world. Highly recommend calling in on your travels.
