The office staff and Nathan organising the car parking on board were great. Zero stress, simple boarding. Well organised service. Well signed and only 5 mins from Townsville. Easy to book online and checked off by staff in the line to drive on board. The decks are super spacious and covered with shade sail. Highly recommend! ⭐️

Positive experience: Very slow (over 40 minutes) ferry to Magnetic Island. We took it due to bring closer to where our cruise ship docked, bit took the fast ferry (20 minutes) on return. Note that this ferry is also a car ferry, so if you are taking a vehicle across, this is your only choice. The other ferry is passenger only.

Fantastic experience: What a pleasant and hassle-free experience! Thank you to the vehicle ferry team for the entire experience, you are very well set up, organised and friendly! We booked in advance online and we were a little stressed about getting on board. But there is ample parking for the cars booked on each ferry and the staff simply see your number plate, welcome you by name and you're on. Too easy! Same with the return journey, "Welcome David" and we drove straight on. I would thoroughly recommend this very professional service to anyone considering taking their vehicle to Magnetic island!

Fantastic experience: Easy access to terminal location travelling from Airlie Beach to Townsville. Check-in and boarding was a breeze. It was rough when we headed over, but I didn’t get motion sickness which is good. Three different decks to hang out for the 45min transfer.

Fantastic experience: A regular ferry service for passengers and vehicles from Townsville to Magnetic Island. Journey times are about 50 minutes one way. Schedules are available online and at the boarding sites. Vehicles left in the ferry operators car park will attract a parking fee.

The customer service Girls were always keen to help and did everything with smile even I had a million questions as our motor home is oversized and I had concerns. Also we liked the island so much that we rebooked twice and no dramas. Also the master on the boat was very experienced. The building facilities were unbelievable and made a pleasure to wait for the ferry. Super Clean toilets. Thank you guys for a great experience!

Negative experience: Absolute ripoff on numerous fronts. Firstly, the price per car is the same whether you have 2 people or 5! Surely, a more equitable system would be per person, with a minimum charge. Secondly and more concerning, is the blatant false advertising regarding discounts to emergency services personnel. They proudly advertise an 18% discount but then in the small print, say that you cannot book online, you must ring the office, book your passage and then pay on arrival. All well and good but they only give you the 18% discount on the in person rate, not the online rate. Essentially, I only got a 4% discount, which was not worth the hassle. I think i will send this one off to the ACCC.

Fantastic experience: I'd just like to acknowledge the staff and ferry master on our recent trip across and back to Magnetic Island from Townsville.Our motorhome is 8 mtrs long and we were concerned about scrapping the back end of it as the entered and exited the ferry both ways. After a slight delay due to tides, the crew were fantastic and adjusted the ramps accordingly and guided us on and off the ferry and gave us peace of mind that we wouldn't damage our vehicle. Thank you so much. Very helpful and understanding & professional in their roles Highly recommended

Fantastic experience: I arrived 5 minutes before departure, panicking with my massive load of bags.. and the staff were so friendly and kind to me, carried half my stuff over to the boat for me and brought a trolley back to help me with the rest. Fantastic experience: Great experience from start to finish. The online booking system is easy and worked, we booked two vehicles in with no issues. On the day at the marina, we had never been on a boat ferry before so were not sure what to do but that turned out not to be an issue as the layout of the driveways is super easy and intuitive to use, you cant really go wrong. Staff were very approachable, friendly, professional and knew what they were doing, we were checked within a few moments and directed onto the boat. The boat itself was spottless clean and tidy, directions from the deck crew were clear and easy to understand. Once your on you can hop out of your car and wander around, there were two upper observatory levels where you could sit and take in the view. There was also a small bar for coffee and light refreshments, toilets clean and tidy. The journey accros is around 30min roughly . Overall a really fun enjoyable start to an adventure
