Fast Cover Travel Insurance

Negative experience: My partner and I have used this company twice for year long trips. They stood out to us as we are budget travelers and the price was fair with what is included for a year of travel as well as having decent reviews. We are very lucky to have only had minimal hiccups on all our travels. The 1st incident was belongings and cash stolen out of our locked scooter but because the belongings/cash were not on our person we had no case to claim (you have to be mugged to claim any kind of theft/stolen goods). 2nd incident was our flight was canceled which left us stranded and having to fork out, which you would think you would be covered for, you would be wrong! So unless your plane flies into a volcano or is hijacked you're pretty much buggered. Laughable that you pay 4K for the year and claim a few hundred hundred dollars to cover your holiday disruptions and you get a fat NO. Would be worth paying the little extra to get a company that doesn't weasel there way around every minor detail to avoid paying a cent. A very disappointing experience and would definitely not recommend them as you would be better off financially going without, would hate to have something bad happen with them as your travel insurance.

Fantastic experience: Unfortunately my elderly mother recently had a fall in Vietnam and required medical treatment and assistance to return home. From the moment we contacted Fast Cover to assist, they were absolutely fantastic. The case manager, Ewan (and in fact the entire team) could not have been more caring, empathetic and thorough and provided peace of mind in extremely difficult and emotional circumstances. My partner and I had just started our honeymoon so we were very torn in terms of whether we needed to fly to the Vietnam mainland to coordinate mum's return home. However, the Fast Cover team coordinated mum's safe return as well as sorting out her medical expenses and we were so grateful for their efforts. In our view the product and service was first class and I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending this outstanding company and the wonderful caring people that work there. While insurance for the elderly is understandably not cheap, in this case it was absolutely worth the cost - saving us 10s of thousands of dollars in out of pocket costs.

Negative experience: I was very disappointed with Fast Cover. I travel extensively and also review different companies and their policies, including conducting research on Finders, Canstar, Product Review and Google. Based on my research I was swayed to purchase cruise cover with Fast Cover. It was more expensive but I thought based on all the research, good reviews and Product Review rating, it was worth it. I thought I had read everything on the PD and T&C's and sadly when it came time to make a claim I realised I was mistaken. Fast Cover do not offer missed ports. I was annoyed with myself as I assumed they did and thought I had read through everything. I won't use Fast Cover again and will go back to using providers I've used in the past. caveat emptor :(

Negative experience: I am too sick to travel, but they say my Dr isn’t telling the truth and they are refusing to refund my flight costs. Complete scum! Edit…After much drama and hassle they did eventually pay me. But, -before- they paid me, they asked me to take down this review. That felt a bit like blackmail, so I told them I would “think about it”. And so after some thought, I have decided to leave the one star review. My experience with them was truly awful!

Fantastic experience: This company was excellent in refunding most or all of 2 claims recently submitted. I broke my arm while travelling and received excellent support from both the emergency team (although I did not require repatriation) and from the claims team (thanks Luke). Reviews often describe the ease with which to take out the insurance, but not many talk about what happens when you actually make a claim. Based on my experience just now, I thoroughly recommend this company. They are reasonably priced, and the service is very good. Thanks Fastcover.

Fantastic experience: If I could give 10 stars to this company I would. We have always had travel insurance but never had to use it. However, on a recent trip overseas my 9yr old became very sick and ended up in hospital. Everyone at Fast Cover were so amazing. They were in touch with the hospital constantly monitoring her care, pushing for more tests and getting independent medical reviews. Eventually moving her to another hospital for better care, before putting us up in a lovely hotel and flying us home. What blew me away was the care and compassion they showed me while caring for a sick child. I felt so supported and genuinely cared for. We made it home happy and healthy and even considering another trip overseas now . We will definitely be using Fast Cover again. Thank you for hiring amazing staff!

Fantastic experience: I've read a couple of reviews saying Fast Cover won't pay claims but my experience was, providing all the documentation is provided, they will pay out. My advice is to contact them if there's an issue to find out what docs are required and that way there shouldn't be any surprises later. We were fortunate to have a couple of house spare in Lima to get a police report filled out for our lost phone. We had to pay for the translation but still worth it given the value of the phone. Also check how much they will pay for different things so you can adjust your insurance accordingly prior to your trip. They paid us their maximum amount for a lost mobile which was $1500 less $200 excess

Fantastic experience: They’re proactive with sending policy information but they send it with broken links. I tried adding their policies to my wallet and it didn’t work. Shortly after they gave me a call and I was able to add it to my digital wallet.

Everyone is pushing Covermore but the pds has so many exclusions I couldn't work out what exactly was covered...other than covid stuff. When I called Fastcover I could actually understand the person on the phone from Sydney (yay) Amily, and she answered my many questions e.g if one family member gets unexpectedly sick can we cancel the whole trip and be covered for cancellation. Yes.

Fantastic experience: I've used Fast Cover for several policies. This time, in Canada, I finally needed to claim. I was sent to the ER with appendicitis. On the way to the hospital, I called their emergency hotline. The lady helped me and even contacted the hospital before I arrived. By the time the surgery was over, the hospital finance team had commented that Fast Cover had called 3 times to make sure the hospital knew I was covered by insurance. They were amazed and surprised an insurance company was so pro-active. I had to pay my surgeon $2497CAD out of pocket, which Fast Cover quickly reimbursed me to my Australian bank account, within a week post-surgery. I am amazed, impressed, and grateful for the team at Fast Cover. This company is superb. Well done, Fast Cover. You have my business for life.

Negative experience: I had a pair of glasses which were destroyed while overseas . I had to answer many questions and do a lot of paperwork …the claim was eventually denied as they heavily deprecated the glasses .Avoid like the plague ,will never use them again,and read all the small print .

Negative experience: WOULD NEVER USE THIS COMPANY AGAIN If this allowed me too I would give ZERO STARS. This company has denied simple travel insurance claim made by me during a time where I was forced into isolation overseas and was forced to pay more than I expected. There simple lack of care for customers is ridiculous. AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS I paid medical bills of approximately 130euros. And had to pay approximately 611 euros for isolation costs. Fast cover then sent me a reimbursement form of 20 Australian dollars. After I had spent over $1200 AUD isolation costs and medical bills combined

Helped me with the claim process as I don't have a computer it wasn't easy for me to claim on line with mobile phone.
