Fantastic experience: I visited yesterday, asked about how to catch my interested fish. The dude (shame I didn't ask his name) recommended a rod/wheel/lines, etc everything with discount, pointed me a direction (you can tell he is just very confident with whatever he says). I drove down there 1 hour later, what happened next was, fish just keep jumping on the hook as simple as that. Highly recommend this place, there is where you find true professional to help you pick your right gear.

Fantastic experience: Found this local store nearby and got my first spinning rod here. After a few days of learning and fishing at multiple spots, I lost the drag knob ha ha . Went back to the store and asked if they had spare parts. Thankfully, they did have the exact same knob spare for FREE. Absolute top notch services! Definitely recommend.

Fantastic experience: Made a trip to this store after visiting quite a few fishing shops around Melbourne. As stated in other reviews this really is the best! There’s a great selection for all fishing styles, and to top that off the service is a class above. Hook Up Bait and Tackle has a huge range of stock and the staff are knowledgeable and helpful. Super friendly to all folk looking about. I wasn’t just rushed into buying anything (which I had experienced elsewhere) and all my questions were answered in a very supportive way. There’s really no need for me to shop for fishing gear anywhere else. Such a good experience in store. Nice one!

Positive experience: I took one of my rods in to get repaired yesterday and picked up this morning. The staff here are very helpful and also very knowledgeable. I decided to also get the reel spooled with braided line. I have never used braided line before so had a lot of questions which the young bloke who was working was very happy to answer, also showed me how to tie some knots. I think I have found my new tackle store.

Negative experience: Bait is dearer than elsewhere, bought other things mate had discount card for them but no discount given. Only go there as last resort. $17 for a kg of frozen pipies is outrageous sure the fridge labe said $14!.
