Fantastic experience: We have just returned from 10 days surfing, staying at Kandooma. This was all arranged through the team at Perfect Wave, and was for me a bucket list trip. As someone who had read about the Maldives as a surf destination in Tracks when it was still printed on newspaper its been a long time coming. From my initial reach out to the team at Perfect Wave noting was too much trouble we were even able to alter accommodation options a week or two out. The Perfect Wave team on the island were fantastic and the options for different surf locations each morning and afternoon on the boat gave us plenty of different breaks other than the main break on the island, if you wanted to explore. Also traveling towards the end of the main surf season worked out perfectly, there were days when I was surfing on my own for hours or with just one or two others. For those of us with partners and children this is the perfect destination as there is plenty to keep the non-surfers happy from the fantastic snorkeling off the beaches to the day spa, gym and kids club. Will we go back, without a doubt, the place truly is paradise and the team at Perfect Wave make the whole process easy and hassle free. If you want perfect waves in a great location surfing with a great crew, get onto the team at Perfect Wave and book yourself a trip of a lifetime.

Fantastic experience: Kandooma was exactly what we needed for our family of four. Surf, relaxing, great accommodation and snorkelling. The island was great and super well maintained. Charlie provided us with great service and organised all our arrangements and adjusted anything we needed. The prompt service made the organisation of the trip seamless. There was a slight discrepancy once we arrived on the island in wording between whst Perfect Wave and IHG Holiday Inn provided in terms of snorkelling trips. This was taken on board quickly by Perfect wave and clarified. They also appreciated this feedback and look to update into the future to minimise any confusion for future travellers. This shows a progressive and adaptable business who were great to deal with. Charlie provided great advice before we left for food arrangements which was super helpful and gave us a clear understanding of what we needed to budget for. The app Perfect Wave used was so good and really handy with all our flight times etc included. For Australians travelling and US dollars being the currency used for payment on the island, be prepared for a fairly expensive trip. Perfect wave always made this clear and transparent so there wasn't any surprises which was great. We got small waves most of the days but that is surf travel but we still had fun. I would definitely go back as the wave itself is super fun. The warm clean water was incredible so no complaints there. Buffet breakfast was so good and set us up for a full day of activity. The employee service was second to none and they went out of their way to make our stay a super enjoyable and relaxing one. Thanks again Perfect Wave and Kandooma.

Fantastic experience: Mishu, Aloc, Raj, captain, chef and the rest of the crew on Gurahali down the southern Atolls were awesome!! Best service and personal care you’ll ever get, Mishu and captain took special care to ensure our whole family (10 total including couples) was surfing breaks within our comfort level (and sometimes pushing it but in a good way) and that the non-surfers in our family also had lots of options for snorkeling, island adventures and fishing. I could not recommend a better action-packed family holiday. They even went to their own personal efforts to create a stunning surprise engagement for me, as requested by my now fiance. The personal touch was above and beyond and the chef was exceptional!

Fantastic experience: Everything went as perfectly as you would want. Sylvia helped us pick the best dates to avoid crowds and suit our budget, including amended flights so we could spend extra days exploring Singapore. There was never anytime that I felt I didn't have enough information as Sylvia kept us up to date with everything leading up to our trip. Kandooma resort met every expectation, with food and waves, as they made sure there were always plenty of options for surfing different spots, with at least two boats taking people to nearby breaks. I can't see myself using anyone else to organise future surf holidays other than Sylv and the Perfect Wave. Thanks guys

Fantastic experience: Incredible trip from beginning to end! Lachlan was totally responsive during planning and gave me all the details. Ocha, Nani and Ferry were waiting for me at the airport, hotel and ferry terminals every time. The boat was fully operational and accommodations were more comfortable than most guesthouses. Clean beds, great AC in the rooms and common areas, good Wifi near land, a TV room with sound system and video games, and tons of room on board to relax, tune up gear or have a quiet place for calls. The skiff taxied us to the waves and they provide fishing poles for sashimi or just for fun. The chefs cooked three delicious meals a day and they provide good coffee, tea and an espresso machine 24 hours. The crew is always friendly and available and our guide Daniel took us to spots everyday that had clean, pumping waves. One day at Lance's Left we were the only boat and it was firing! When I got cut on the reef, they had all the bandages and medical supplies I needed. Safety was never overlooked so we could concentrate on having fun. Everybody caught waves and we all had a great time. Couldn't ask for a better experience! Perfect Wave will definitely be my go-to contact when I start planning my next trip. Can't wait to come back!

Fantastic experience: By far the best trip I’ve ever been on!! Pretty dreamy to be able to surf amazing waves with awesome people and choose which waves you wanted to surf everyday. Stevo and everyone working with him at Kandooma were first class and always available to help whenever you needed it. We stayed at both Kandooma and Como Cocoa. While at Como Cocoa they were extremely accommodating and were still able to pick me up for boat trips and transfers even to surf Kandooma right. They even kept me updated on the current conditions so that I didn’t miss out when Kandooma turned on. Being from Florida, USA, getting to the Maldives was a trip of a lifetime for us. We brought our three younger kids with us and they loved it! Lots of other kids for them to play with and Kandooma even has a kids club which they loved. It gave us plenty of time to relax and enjoy ourselves. The food, service and accommodations at Como Cocoa are next level! Definitely worth checking out!! Thanks again to everyone that made our trip literally perfect!! I wish we could do it every year!!

Fantastic experience: The Gurahali was just the best boat for our group of ten and the crew were equally amazing. Cabins were good size and AC available all day. So many decks to view the surf and atolls or to relax and read/sleep. The food was fresh and varied and all the fish caught by the anglers in our group were served up in the next meal. Mishu, our surf guide could not have been kinder or more helpful. He made sure everyone on the boat (some not surfers) were well catered for and happy. Overall, it was a wonderful experience we will never forget. Great waves, great fishing and great friends.

Fantastic experience: What an amazing holiday our family had. Fantastic for adults and kids, surfers and non surfers. The surfers in my family had excellent waves and the logistics were excellent in being transported via boat to surf breaks or if they preferred, there was surf right at the resort. The service was first class and the cleanliness of the rooms were the best I had experienced. All the staff made us feel very welcome and Sylvia from Perfect Wave Travel ensured every finer detail was sorted for us, so the logistics were so smooth and made it a stress free overseas holidays. The water was as magical as it looks in the photos. The standard of the food and quality of the buffets was the best I have ever experienced with plenty of fresh healthy options. Fun activities throughout the day for non surfers so it made for a fun and active holiday with time left over for soaking up the sun in the plentiful hammocks hung all throughout the resort. Fantastic experience: Great experience surfing at Kandooma with Perfect Wave Travel. Kandooma Right is super consistent and there are some fun and friendly waves 10-15 minute boat ride from the resort. Crowds are cruisy and no hustle for waves. The Maldivian Guides are super cool and great guys to surf with. Will be back.

Fantastic experience: We had a fantastic week at T-Land Resort in Rote and were more than happy with the thorough booking and organisation from Perfect Wave Travel and we would use the company again. It was great to know that all our transfers, ferry bookings and accommodation were all taken care of and was all hassle free. The only down fall was how busy the waves were. This is no fault of Perfect Wave Travel, but we couldn’t believe how busy it was and also the lack of surf etiquette. This made it a little frustrating out in the surf but we were told later that it was peak season and a few weeks ago it was much quieter! Will have to do my research a bit better next time as crowds are not our thing.

Positive experience: Went to Kandooma Maldives. Now there is a lot to unpack about the trip. The wave is a great wave when it’s on. I really only scored one great session the whole week I was there but when it was on it was epic. The accommodation is great, beautiful hotel and island. Now the kicker is that you’re paying a lot more to surf this private wave and it’s still fairly crowded. They do a good job ferrying you to the other wave in the area “riptides” but still the main wave is kandooma and you’ll likely be surfing it with most of the other surfers who are staying on the island. Also the cost of food is pretty high at the hotel. You get the breakfast buffet included in your stay which is great but if you want to buy food he next meal package which includes dinner it’s $90 per person per day for the buffet. The food is very good but it’s all expensive also any other drink besides still water is expensive. This isn’t a knock on perfect wave but the cost starts to add up quick for a surf trip. In the end I’m glad I went but I’ll never book again with a third party group just to go surf.

Fantastic experience: This was the perfect vacation ever and it was way over our expectations!!! It started with the great help of Sylvia who helped organizing everything and also last minute changes in the dates. It was also the care and sending greetings to our birthday and 21st anniversary. It has continued through seamless arrival transportation to the resort and with the supper welcoming at the resort by the Perfect Wave team who arranged and provided great trips to the nearby spots and share their knowledge on each peak. In addition, when the waves dropped, they arranged a boat trip to the north Atoll to surf other well known spots and score great wavs!!! We warmly recommend this company and cannot wait for our next one :)

Positive experience: Epic trip, first time to the Maldives. Stayed at both kandooma and Como. Kandooma was the perfect family holiday great spot for waves when there’s swell and plenty of stuff to do on the island with the family. Steve and the boys on the island were awesome and super helpful. Como was an awesome hotel but wouldn’t recommend it if you’re there for surfing as it’s on another island and your last stop both ways and feels a little out of the loop. Kandooma is the pick for me.Hopefully get back soon.

Fantastic experience: Best holiday through a travel agent. Our agents name was Sylvia, the communication from start to finish was exceptional. It was the wife's 60th birthday and the agent even went to the trouble of arranging a birthday cake with the resort we stayed. They also have an app to assist on your travels which was terrific. The app included your itinerary, travel docs, a list of surf stuff to pack including first aid. Everything in one place Will diffinately be booking with them again.

Positive experience: This is the first time I’ve ever done the resort sort of thing, always done my own low cost surf travel to places as remote as Rapa Nui. Having an exclusive quality wave almost at your door + the option to jump on a v. nice boat to other breaks is pretty bloody. If you are thinking of going, keep in mind, it is a resort, $$, (and not just for surfers) but Kandooma quality remains long after the price is forgotten

Negative experience: I didn’t enjoy my experience of dealing with Perfect Wave. It’s a difficult situation dealing with someone who actually are just the middle man between you as the customer and a third party (like the boat and the airlines). They are certainly happy to take all your money but not so keen on taking any responsibility for anything that happens. I could give lots of examples and no doubt they would provide lots of reasons but at the end of the day it isn’t a cheap experience and Perfect Wave don’t really deliver. There are other people providing the same service who do seem to care.

Fantastic experience: Booked a stay at Holiday Inn, Kandooma in the Maldives. Very professional set up with great customer support leading up to the trip. There's an office and surf shop on the island, including ding repairs. Stevo and the guys were great to deal with. Cheers guys.

Fantastic experience: Even though I live a long, long way from OZ, I book all my non-DIY surf trips through Chris Buykx at Perfect Wave. A buddy of mine referred me to him for a Maldives trip. Chris immediately set me up on a highly discounted trip to Kandooma which was easy and amazing. The following year, he reached out with the deal of the century on Niyama which normally would have been far out of our budget. That trip was also easy and epic. A few months ago Chris and I emailed back and forth about other options for this year. He managed to locate a rare single spot on the PNG Explorer. Aside from setting me up on an amazing boat trip complete with scuba options, he was a wealth of advice about the less-than-straight-forward transportation to the North of PNG and nearby accommodation. His advice was spot on and the trip was amazing. The personalized service Chris has provided is next level and leaps and bounds above other travel companies I've booked with in the past. I'll be bugging Chris again as soon as the surf trip coffers are replenished...

Fantastic experience: A very professional and seamless experience booking a boat trip to the Ments. From the moment I enquired, through the booking and payment stage, and right up to boarding the boat, their customer service was personal and first class. A group of us spent 10 days on the Oasis - being March it meant weather and wind was a factor, but our brilliant surf guide Daniel and the local crew aboard were amazing in maximizing our quality wave count. Food was even better than the epic days spent at Macaronis and HTs!

Well , i just got back from my 3rd trip Surfing uncrowded exclusive waves on a perfect tropical paradise island . There are also other boats taking you to other breaks every day if you like . This year they now have a new luxury surfboat which is definately a game changer …, taking us to Tuckey Joes and Quarters in 25 mins . Also if you havnt timed it right for the swell this new big boat will do the odd trip for an extra small fee up to other Atolls . I cant get enough of Kandooma . We scored the waves . Fantastic experience: Kandooma really does have everything. World class waves literally on your doorstep. An amazing global community of like-minded surfers who have travelled from far and wide to share the stoke…but not so many that it ever gets crowded (unless you consider 6 people in the lineup a crowd). Fantastic hosts who go out of their way to make everything perfect. Great accommodation, fantastic cuisine, cold beers. It’s special, but never pretentious. Just a great place to surf, eat, sleep and repeat. A truly magical place. I am sure we will be back soon

Fantastic experience: If you are organizing a surf boat trip in Indo then look no further than Perfect Wave and the surf charter boat D'Bora. The crew were experienced and very, very capable. We just had to turn up. They were constantly on the ball and were able to find the best waves ! We had plenty of options using the boat's two tenders to take us to a variety of breaks. Did I mention I had some of the best waves for a looooong time? Waves ... every .... single ...day ! Food - excellent ! 3 very big meals per day, lots of variety from traditional Indonesian to western style lamb roasts and more....breakfast, lunch and dinner plus snacks -if you needed them after a full day surfing.....and of course the Bintang and soft drinks. Snorkeling and fishing from the boat too if you need a break from the waves. 10 out 10

Can not recommend Perfect Wave Travel enough for the great job they did in organising every aspect of the holiday from flights, accommodation, transfers etc. Any questions or queries were answered promptly and our agent Slyv was in contact with us throughout from initial booking to seeing how our trip was when we got home.
