Positive experience: On the whole, this was a spectacular site to visit (via snorkeling). I would definitely recommend this to anyone visiting Cairns (go and see one of the world's natural wonders). I will just say though, do your research as to which tour company you use. Whilst our day was quite enjoyable, there were a few minor details which would prevent me from suggesting the particular company I used. The meeting point for this tour was at the Cairns boat harbour (with plenty of parking available). We then took a 1.5 hour boat ride until we reached our destination. Once in the water I was able to view some incredible sights. All the various coloured coral, all the various fish. It is a must see (I would even suggest scuba diving as you will see oh so much more). The fish didn't seemed too phased that we were there, watching them live their lives in their habitat. I have never seen a sight like it. I would definitely recommend to every one, but as I said, do your research into tour companies.

Fantastic experience: A super scenic drive along the tropical Coral Sea coastline north of Cairns, with so much to enjoy along the way, including beautiful lookouts and photo opportunity stops at Palm Cove, Ellis Beach, Oak Beach, Wangetti, Lower Alexandra Reef, Port Douglas...

Fantastic experience: Anyway, it's a wonderful sandy beach. You need to get there by noon, or the tide will rise and you won't be able to land. It took about 40 minutes by bike from Port Douglas!

Fantastic experience: Great drive with stunning views of the ocean and coastline. Many beaches easily accessible and plenty of spots where you can pull off the road.

Fantastic experience: Very pleasant drive over the Great Barrier Reef road. The road is slightly tricky, so it is better to be precaution. On the way you can stop in several picturistiq place and take memorable photos. The road has one line so please be patient and don't overtake when it is says don't overtake! During the ride you will pass several beaches and each of them has different vibe and 'face' . Even though it is says that crocodiles might be around it is mostly safe to step our from the car and take a walk. I wouldn't recommend to swim there.The closes swim area is in Palm Cove. Enjoy your ride!
