Negative experience: we are very dissatisfied with happy travels! we booked a three day surf camp with a guy in the shop. he lured us in to talk about the surf camp. made us enthusiastic and that's why we wanted to book. he told that you have several surf lessons a day and surf all day! now we find out that for (this is already a lot of money) you have to pay $99 dollars for the extra surf lessons. when booking we indicated that we actually wanted a day to think. this was not necessary and possible and we had to decide immediately. to reassure us, he indicated that if we had a reason we could cancel and get money back. he gave his card with name and number. we could call this number in this case. now we saw in advance that there will be lightning and thunderstorms on 2 of the 3 days. that is why we called to ask about the possibilities of resisting. at this point we found out how inflexible they are at happy travels. the promises made about canceling were also not true. I understand that we have signed conditions, but you assume that they are the same as the verbal promises. verbal agreements are also agreements! we called several times that week and it was said that with thunderstorms we can just go in hrt water. this is hugely irresponsible! we also called to ask what the possibilities are, but only the answer came that we did not get any money or voucher back and they could not do anything. the manager was promised to call but he didn't call back. so we called back and again we were told that he would call. in the end we never got a call. We also understand that we didn't have a day to book. then we could have read the really bad reviews. too little food, unhygienic bathrooms and fewer surf lessons with hardly any personal attention! we have several reasons to cancel. because simply resisting is not possible. we don't even need cash, a happy travels voucher is also good.

Fantastic experience: It has now been 1,5 month since we left amazing Aquarius in Byron Bay. When we first got there, we were kind of lost and had nothing planned for our Eastcoasttrip up north... But then we met Gareth from Happy Travels. Gareth is the perfect combination of being knowledgeable, understanding and funny. He made us feel comfortable and it seemed like he honestly just wanted to help us create the best possible trip suited for us - and he sure did! We booked pretty much every adventure through him and he provided us with good advice, great discounts and so much more. We’ve had the time of our lives, we’ve experienced more than we ever thought possible and we've met the most incredible people. Gareth did not only help us plan the perfect trip, he also made us feel welcome and gave us lots of laughs. Danish hugs from Helene and Sofie.

He was really passionate about it and you could hear it when he was telling about the different places. She helped my friend and I chose which tour to do in the Outback and was honest about the best reviewed tours without trying to upsell anything to us that we were clear we didn't want. So friendly, knowledgeable and made it what's normally such a stressful process so easy! Booked a skydive with seb a little while later and he killed it, go see him if you need anything he totally convinced my terrified friend to do it and we’re so happy he did. ❤️

Fantastic experience: We were reluctant to book a package with happy travels due to a bad experience with one of the shops in Sydney however as soon as we met Liz in Byron we felt so much better and ended up booking everything with her!! She had so much advice/knowledge having done the trips herself and made sure we picked the right one based on our personalities/preferences. Fantastic experience: Massive shout out to Gareth & Seb for sorting us out on our two weeks in the East Coast! They arranged everything from car hire to excersions. Their advice and expertise of the East Coast made it easy to decide what we wanted to do and without them wouldn’t of had a clue what to do. Everything was exceptional value for money considering that this was a once in a lifetime trip. The only regret I have is not staying longer and am planning on going back!

Fantastic experience: All the staff at Happy Travels Aquarius were brilliant and must have spent a combined 2-3 hours over a few days trying to find us the best deal for our travels around New Zealand - Gareth in particular was amazing and found us some truly ‘too good to be true’ deals - but they were true! Fantastic experience: Me and a friend have just recently booked with happy travels in Byron bay at Aquarius hostel and both Gareth and Emil were fantastic both have different knowledge of where to go and what to do. We managed to get a great tour booked in GBR and at magnetic Island with no hassle can't wait to do them both! And as we are travelling In a camper from Brisbane Gareth was able to give us a great route to Cairns In the time we have left as he's done this route before and able to give us some great sights to see. Although we had done a lot of research beforehand, the plan was to take a relaxed approach and book our trips, as and when we needed to. That all changed when we met Gareth at Happy Travels Aquarius.
