Negative experience: Went to the Modbury store today to book our holiday and was told we needed to book an appointment, no one was available. It was a sorry call this number to make a time, see ya. Too bad, as we went to Flight Centre who were more than accommodating and ended up purchasing an expensive once in a lifetime holiday. We have had this experience before with Phil Hoffman but thought we would try again. You guys really did miss out and no we won’t be back.

Negative experience: We went here to get assistance booking our honeymoon and were served by Sarina. Her knowledge and assistance could best be described as barely passable. She wasn't able to assist with anything that we wouldn't have been able to search and book on Google for ourselves. Several things she quoted us for were several hundred dollars more than we found them advertised for. Unfortunately we had to cancel one tour as my wife got unwell while we were there, despite the tour company agreeing to give us a 100% refund as we were able to give them more than 24 hours notice for this. However when we spoke to Sarina about this she told us that the money was 100% non refundable. This stance quickly changed when she was provided with the tour operators email saying that they would refund the money. However after a further 6 weeks of waiting and reaching out several times they still have not been in touch to refund the money. Honestly, not sure what benefit there is to using this service.

Positive experience: During a recent trip to Europe, we organized all of our travel arrangements thru Phil Hoffmann, including flights, cruises, train and transfers. Everything was excellent except for some transfers from airports to hotels and vias versa. Phil Hoffmann arranged them thru a company called Mozio who assigned several transfers to a company called Talixo. Taxilo were terrible, never on time, rude and on one occasion, arrived at the airport to be at the wrong terminal. Not a major problem, except the driver after telling me on the phone that he needed 10 minutes to get to us, ended up taking another passenger as apparently, he was doubled book. But wait, he did not inform us of this, I had to wait to find this out. When I called him again to find out how much longer, he would not answer. So, then I had to ring another number for Mozio to be advised to take a taxi and I would get a full refund, because the driver was classified as a no show. But wait, the refund was delayed, and after paying $224.80 for that transfer I was only refunded $174.67 from Mozio, with no explanation and no answer with an explanation to various follow up emails. Then to add insult to injury, when I brought this to the attention of the Agent from Phil Hoffmann, after a long wait, his answer was I have no idea, but I will give you a discount of the difference on your next trip. That is nice, but I have to spend money to get my money back. My money, for which I paid for a service in good faith, which was not supplied because of their error. Not good service in my book, particularly when you consider Phil Hoffmann has brought in a fee of $200.00 per person to book your holiday, which is on top of their commission for what they have booked.

I do wish to acknowledge the ongoing comprehensive assistance your consultant provided for the Air, Hotel, Cruise and Tour Package options across your travel planning. PHT introduced a $125 Airfare Booking and Management Fee on all international tickets as a result of the extensive impacts of the COVID pandemic to our industry, including Airlines no longer remunerating Agents for booking flights. This Fee includes seating and special meal advice and ongoing communication associated with schedule change handling. The $200 PHT Platinum Experience Fee represents the Airfare Booking and Management Fee (including seating and special meal advice and schedule change handling) as well as - • Itinerary planning• Travel, passport and vaccination advice• 1x free PHT amendment (supplier fees may apply)• Travel management• Country guidance for your destination• Entry Visa requirements checks and advice • Professional document pack, including personalised itinerary and printed vouchersI hope this clarifies the structure of our booking and advisory service fee, and the great value it represents for our expert assistance.Thank you again for bringing your concerns to our attention. Fantastic experience: I am a fairly demanding customer when it comes to travelling, and Sarina at Phil Phil Hoffmann Travels Modbury met all my expectations. She answered all my many questions with professionalism and expertise, provided me with a number of quotes, even when I changed my mind about travel dates. Fantastic experience: I cannot recommend Phil Hoffmann Modbury highly enough. today I booked my overseas trip there. Sarina was my travel agent. When I first went in I had a million questions yet Sarina professionalism made everything clear. My entire trip was planned with care and ease. My trip to Overseas was a dream come true, and I can thank Sarina and her team for making it happen.
Fantastic experience: Have been with Phil Hoffmann for many yrs and trust them implicitly to take care of all our travel needs . We have just had a lovely break at the stone hut cottages arranged by Sarina and everything was taken care of as usual . Our holiday to Norfolk Island had unfortunately to be cancelled due to covid and Sarina organised to get our deposit and airfares back extremely quickly . We have never entertained the thought of changing to another travel company as Phil Hoffmann is the best as far as we are concerned and his consultants always go the extra mile to ensure that each holiday Is memorable for all the right reasons

Fantastic experience: Travelling during COVID times was always going to be a bit risky, but we were so lucky our first family holiday could be saved a thousand times over by our travel agent Mark. a few days prior to leaving our flights were cancelled. Mark gave us a list of options to choose from and organised other flights, accommodation and kept us at ease. Our accommodation was amazing, being our first holiday not staying in a hotel we opted for the more family friendly option for our one year old, the discovery parks at Airlie beach were fantastic and the room Mark chose has a view of the pool whilst being surrounded by tropical plants. The trip ended with SA going into lock down, flights cancelled and no real easy way of getting home. Mark gave us a list of all options and sorted everything for us from flights, accommodation, extra car hire. He even ensured we would have a microwave in our room for bottles and listed some great Coeliac friendly meal options. We have now booked our next family holiday through Mark and I would have It any other way. Whether travelling over seas or interstate I will always use a travel agent, it just takes the stress away.

Negative experience: I booked a very expensive holiday and within 12 months I was shuffled to 5 different consultants. After my trip went horribly wrong they were not interested in helping me or compensating me. We had to wait 2 hours on the side of the road for our transfer that took us to a hotel (this was very unsettling in a foreign country )where you pushed your own luggage up a steep long hill Then had to wait 2 hours, then had to take your own luggage to your room Went on a half day tour (part of the package) only to not go to the places we paid for. Then had to take our own luggage back down this hill (which eventually the hotel helped with) because Phil Hoffman would not pay the $2 luggage fee. I had a major anxiety attack I'm still having treatment and would not suggest or ever travel with this company again. There response was you had your holiday and have returned so what's the problem
