Fantastic experience: Such a wonderful experience in city of hobart for our 7th wedding anniversary. Micky and red did wonderful job pulling our family around Salamanca. Stuart and team were friendly too our kids loved it affordable one of must things to do in Tassie
Fantastic experience: We (especially the kids) absolutely loved the horse carriage ride. Oh wait, no, not horse carriage, we had Unicorn carriage!!!! It was great, and was absolutely magical.

Fantastic experience: Yesterday we had an amazing tour around Battery Point (the 1hour tour) and it was marvellous. Mickey and Red ( beautiful horses) did a wonderful job of pulling us around the hills. Our carriage driver and tour guide was amazing, full of knowledge of the area, architecture and was amazing at directing traffic around us in a safe and thoughtful manner. I would highly recommend this tour to learn about the colourful history of the area and lovely outing in a beautiful carriage. Thank you team

Often people associate carriages with being bumpy but our pneumatic tyres and suspension ensure an incredibly smooth ride. Add the luxurious leather seats and you're in heaven! Fantastic experience: Socks and Hank (The horses) did an incredible job taking us in and around Battery Point. With Steve providing us with some great insight into the history of the suburb and its buildings. We had a fantastic time from start to finish, including Sharon’s easy booking process via phone. She and Steve were very accommodating, allowing us to change our tour last minute with no hassle or extra cost. So glad we had the opportunity to explore Hobart in such an exciting way, highly recommend this trip for an added bit of fun on your visit!

Fantastic experience: Was an amazing experience through the Hobart City. The rider was very informative with places to visit and things to do in Tasmania. We did it at sunset and the views were unreal.

Negative experience: We were on vacation last Easter long weekend and visiting Salamanca market, on the way to have dinner in Rockwall and Grill Restaurant . We about to have a ride but unlucky you guys about to closed 6pm and we asking nicely if we can take pictures of the horses, the Gentleman who work here long hair nicely tell us that we can pet as well . But accidentally my partners pet on area near stomach as both of us dont have experience with the horse, the old lady who work here extremely abusing my partner, very rude old lady , she look like lady in the movies Games of Thrones, Scarie Seem this old lady doesn't like Asian people and never go overseas for holiday. If you have Asian back ground like us it's better stay awayyyyyyyy spend your money somewhere else
Your personal attack on my appearance is unwarranted and rude. Asian tourists make up a great deal of our guests and we have absolutely no issue with any race whatsoever and for you to insinuate this is again, uncalled for and completely wrong. Given we said you can take photos (for no charge) and pat the horses, it is clear we have no issues with any Asian tourists, even if they are wanting to come and touch the horses and take photos without even taking a tour. However, it is extremely important that you follow directions when doing so. If you have no knowledge of horses, you need to be guided where the appropriate places to touch a horse are. Touch them in the sensitive places and you could cop a bite or a kick and then you would be complaining!

Fantastic experience: Where do we start, this was absolutely fantastic. We four set off with Steve and the boys. Steve gave us a look into the past about Battery Point. The 1 hour tour with our bottle of Tassi Sav Blanc is an afternoon to remember. We 4 would recommend this tour to anyone that wants to enjoy a relaxed afternoon tour around Battery Point. Thanks for your great review Alex. Yes, one thing not a lot of people know is that all of our horses are rejects from racing (or worse), who now have a meaningful and purposeful life with us. Soxy, for example, is now 23 years old and was destined for the pet food market when he was rescued to be a carriage horse. That was 16 years ago and he's still going strong. And, yes, our carriage is a smooth ride!! So smooth, it will calm the most fractious child. Thanks so much for your recommendations :)

Fantastic experience: I booked this for my wife, on her first visit to Hobart, as a unique introduction to the picturesque waterfront of the city. She enjoyed it more than I could have imagined. As a horse rider, she was thrilled by the opportunity to ride up with Steve and talk horses. Even though it was raining and cold, my son and I were warm and comfortable in the carriage, with the roof half-closed. Overall a great experience, highly recommended!

Negative experience: The older lady that works for this business should be ashamed of herself! She left the carriage today, and abused a group of people who were giving away stickers near the Salamanca Markets. My young son was standing there with other children, while she abused the people with all manner of ridiculous accusations. Completely unprofessional and uncalled-for. I will never recommend this business while she continues to work there.
Hello Adam. I'm sorry if you think I was abusing people and that was definitely not the case. I was having a discussion with them, they were having a discussion with me. Neither of us were abusing each other. And there were certainly no accusations of anything on either side! We simply disagreed with each other's point of view. A healthy debate on subjects which affect all of Tasmanians should be welcomed on both sides.
Fantastic experience: This was a lovely experience we booked after seeing the horses go past our hotel. Very accommodating for our 2yr old Who decided after 5mins she wanted to sit at the front in which Steve pulled over when safe and allowed her at the top with dad! Well priced, my only suggestion is to ensure you book in as spaces fill fast and we almost missed out!

Fantastic experience: We had a wonderful time on our carriage ride with our 2 year old daughters on Saturday! I think it was the highlight of their trip to Tassie and the owners and horses were so lovely! Such a wonderful thing to do and really gives you a feel of what it may have been like living in battery point back in the day. We only did the 20 minute ride but easily could’ve gone longer! Would recommend as a must do if you’re visiting Hobart (us parents loved it too!)

Fantastic experience: I have been working at DarkPark for 2 weeks located near this business. I have had the lovely experience of meeting these Horses & their nice Humans as well. It filled my heart to see the effort going into looking after the horses, and their attention to detail when getting the beautiful carriage ready. Lovely people running a business worth your support.
Negative experience: The lady was pretty rude. Doesn’t know how to speak to kids. When it’s a hospitality business least is to respect the customers if u can’t then not the best to be in the business. Feel sorry for her
We feel it was rather presumptuous of you to place your child in the carriage without permission! Our previous guests had barely disembarked before you did so. You were explained the tours and that we would be available to take you on a tour but we must attend to the horses and our previous guests first. You agreed but then walked away. It is not acceptable to just invite yourself onto a tour without permission so we are unsure why you feel it was acceptable in this case. We take safety very seriously and we do not allow guests to board without first ensuring everything is properly in place and that someone is available to assist them. Especially when children are involved, it is vital that our procedures are followed and, in this case, you chose to circumvent our protocol.
Fantastic experience: This was an amazing experience! We went on the 30 minute ride and it did not disappoint! We learned so much about the buildings, history, the carriage, everything! The horses were amazing and well behaved and it really was just such a beautiful experience! 5/5 would recommend!

Fantastic experience: Sharon and Steve made our last night in Tasmania amazing. We took the waterfront tour and it did not disappoint. Steve was very knowledgeable in all things horses, Hobart and Tasmania. The carriage was in immaculate condition and very comfy. The two horses were in pristine condition and very calm throughout our journey (A credit to Sharon and Steve). It was such a pleasure to relax and take the sites in by horse and carriage. Fantastic experience: Very affordable experience and great way to see hobart township. The tour is roughly 20mins and the guides are very friendly down to earth people. Blankets are on board to keep you warm on those chilly nights. The tours run from the end of the Salamanca markets or can be from other pickup venues by arrangement. Booking is essential as the slots run out fast.

Positive experience: The owners are very lovely and kind. Unfortunately for us on the day we had booked for it was drizzling and began to train as we were taking off so we could not experience it to the best of what it has to offer. When making your bookings try book close to the date to be certain of the weather forecast, they do not cancel rides unless its very extreme weather conditions.

Waterfront ride was absolutely amazing and Steve told us about history of the city. Fantastic experience: Wonderful experience for the entire family. We wanted to take our kids out for something special for their birthday and this ride was terrific. Lasted about 40 mins and took in the lovely sites of Hobart's waterfront. Recommend highly.

Fantastic experience: We went for the High Tea drive this afternoon with Steve and Sharon and their lovely 2 standardbreds. It was cold and windy but was an absolutely great drive. Steve and Sharon were very welcoming and such lovely company. Steve's knowledge of Hobart's history combined with his exceptional horsemanship was a real privilege to be watch. Both horses and humans were immaculately presented despite the chilly conditions and they even brought us a blanket to keep warm. Would recommend everyone visiting Hobart to give them a call and join them for a lovely drive through Hobart's history.

August surely is not the best weather wise but at least we were lucky to have a sunny day, despite the very chilly wind. Definitely lets you know you're at 42 degrees south. Fantastic experience: This was our third tour with Heritage Horse Drawn Carriages and it was as fantastic as always. We did the Trot through Time tour (Waterfront and Battery Point). Steve is very knowledgeable and always comes up with some new information to share. We take all our interstate/international visitors, it's simply the best thing for visitors to do in Hobart and, selfishly, we rather enjoy it ourselves.

Fantastic experience: We did the Battery Point tour, fitted 4 adults 3 little kids comfortably. Steve did a great job with the tour and gave lots of information. The horses are fantastic. Highly recommend as a great way to see the old housing district of Hobart. Thanks.
