Negative experience: Bus was late and it took a phone call to get out of them where the bus was why not have some one at ur office wiitch is 50m away come out and tell us . And u would make sure u have ur bus there on time knowing there a cruse ship in .

Fantastic experience: Mark took us to Port Arthur one day and to Bonorong another. He was knowledgeable and fun and we enjoyed both his commentary and his humour. But, he went above and beyond his job description when I left my mobile on the bus. With a smile, he delivered it to my hotel after his long day's work, going well out of his way to do so. His deep knowledge of Tasmanian history and the local environment added so much depth to the tour. Fantastic experience: Although I was confused about pick up location ( there are two Bus Stops no.6 on Sandy Bay Rd - a nearest street crossover pt would help), I have to say the Greater Hobart, Richmond and Bonorong were thoroughly enjoyable. Alan was informative, personable and the tours were great. Added bonus Botanical Gardens. A really good day.

Fantastic experience: We did the Port Arthur Tour with the Isle of the Dead. Our coach driver combined in depth knowledge with humour, making the entire experience brilliant. NOTE: the coach was just a mini bus, so a bit of a squeeze.

Fantastic experience: Best tour ever! Tim, our driver and tour guide went above and beyond! He was amazing with his commentary and humour. He was very knowledgeable and then some! We ended up adding a couple of extra stops which were absolutely not to be missed!

Positive experience: I recently used this company for two tours, one to Port Arthur and one to Mt. Wellington. Please read to understand the rating because it differs for each tour. The guide who took us on the Port Arthur tour on June 22 was awesome and a true professional. He and the destination are 5 star all the way! I learned a lot from him, he was very knowlegeable, and he was passionate about making the day a memorable experience for us. As for the Mt Wellington tour, the destination itself was amazing, it was very scenic and worth the trip. The attraction was breathtaking and truly deserves 5 stars. However, the experience with the driver soured the day. It just goes to show how one bad employee can impact the overall customer experience. Unfortunately, the female tour guide (name begins with C) for the Monday, June 24, 9am trip, was absolutely terrible. I checked out of my hotel at 8am and waited in the hotel lobby because the instructions on my ticket stated hotel pickups commence 45 minutes before the tour start time. I had not received any messages or notifications via Booking, email, text, or telephone. I attempted to call the company several times that morning and finally reached a person who told me that I'd be picked up at 8:45am. So, around 8:30am, the tour guide storms into the hotel lobby and scolds me for not waiting outside and insisted that I had been sent instructions. I told her I had not and apologized for any missed communication. She continued to be rude and would not accept the likelihood that I had not received any messages with specific instructions. I have an international number and rely on Booking messages. I had received instructions for the previous trip with the same company without any issues. Once we got to the van, she didn't even open the door. She continued to berate me once on board, and this was so obvious that another passenger even asked me what her problem was. Clearly she lacks the necessary communication and problem solving skills. She could have called the hotel, the front desk staff knew I was waiting on transport and could have retrieved me. Throughout the trip, her mannerism and communication were short, brash, abrupt, and rude. I hope the company either trains her so that she is able to demonstrate the same level and degree of professionalism as the other tour guides, or replaces her with someone else who really wants to do the job and do it well.

Fantastic experience: A group of 4 of us took the Grayline trip to Port Arthur on Friday, the 24/05/2024 Colin was our driver and tour guide. Informative, very humorous and professional with a fantastic knowledge of Tasmania's history. Quite a few stop off's along the way at historical and interesting places. Left to our own devices at Port Arthur to choose from numerous activities. Walking or courtesy rides around the grounds and buildings. Boat ride tour around the island of the dead. Cafes a plenty. Some interesting places on the way home including an ice cream and chocolate place. Had a great time and would highly recommend this tour to everyone. Young and old. Fantastic experience: We booked a trip from Hobart to Port Arthur on a Saturday and our experience was excellent. Peter, our driver, was very knowledgeable about the focal points along the way, and guided us into the Port Arthur Penitentiary park with professionalism and advice that made our visit the best it could be. Fantastic experience: Took three tours with these guys over 3days. Day 1, our driver was Darren, or perhaps Jeff, he was very elusive with the names. This bloke was by far my favourite guide of the three days, incredibly informative, going above and beyond, his anecdotes were both insightful and often funny. Day 2 we had Evan, or perhaps Barry, (again, these blokes are very elusive with their names) It felt like he was already over it at the very start of the day, rushedly giving us quick information on local landmarks at such a pace as to inflict sever neck injury if you attempted to keep up. And while this info was quick, it was very very basic, there were no follow up facts. Upon arrival to Port Arthur he handed packs of passes and information books for us to distribute amongst ourselves, despite this we still had to line up for our passes as he had only given out half of them. Day three we had Evan/Barry/Garry again, however it seems he put some honey on his wheat bix that morning as his mood was well improved. He was much more informative on this day, and his bus driving skills up the mountain were rather impressive. Myself and my Wife had such an amazing trip and tour with Greyline in this fantastic city. And we can’t wait to come back.

Positive experience: I booked a Tour for Mt Wellington and MONA entry- paid $127 for solo traveller. They were a very helpful team and our Guide Peter went out his way to make everyone feel comfortable and included. I had some issues with my phone and was extremely stressed, so He decided to become my personal photographer for day and later emailed them to me. Only thing is, I would have preferred to spend more time at Mt. Wellington, instead of just 30 mins.. For MONA, it was just entry fee and ferry fees included. It was self guided tour otherwise.

Positive experience: Did the Salamanca market/Port Arthur tour. Great option to have and explore the market in the morning - highly recommend. The coach bus was comfortable and driver very nice, however it wasn’t a guided tour and more of a drop off and meet by the bus at the end of the day. There were tours you can go on provided by the visitor center which were great I just didn’t know this going in. I’d recommend it if you want to get both things in a day however if you’re looking for a more guided tour look at another company.

Fantastic experience: Wonderful day trip to the historic and moving Port Arthur, hosted by the excellent and funny Colin, full of information and dad jokes. This was my third trip to Port Arthur and was the best. The stopovers in Richmond, Dunalley, Maingon Bay, and Tasmans Arch were great as well - the Tasmanian east coast is so stunningly beautiful. We also did the half day trip up to Kununyi/Mt Wellington on what was a picture perfect day. The views were spectacular and Darren was full of information and a great driver and guide.

Fantastic experience: What a fantastic tour group.Was given poor arrival time by my booking agent but tour guide gave me a courtesy call early to see how I was going luck we were only 2 mins away.Colin our guide and bus driver yook us around Hobart and to the top of Mt Wellington he was extremely knowledgeable, passionate and very funny (awesome dad jokes) got a lot more than expected from the tour before dropping us off at the warf for the Mona meusem tour, extremely good value for money highly recommended

Positive experience: This review relates to the Port Arthur and Isle of the Dead tour, ex Hobart. We booked several weeks in advance of arriving. The pick up was worry free. I did expect a coach liner based on some of the images, and was surprised to see a 22 seater mini-bus turn up, but that gets forgotten soon enough. Darren was excellent with his commentary throughout the trip, exhibiting a wealth of local knowledge with which to fill the trip. This particular trip filled the entire day and we took in the Isle of the Dead midway through the harbour cruise, which was excellent. Andrew took the Isle of the Dead tour and had a wealth of stories, keeping everyone engaged throughout. It really is a great day trip and we highly recommend Grey Line Tours if you are looking for day trips out of Hobart.

The trip was made even more fantastic because of our guide Darren he was very knowledgeable and his commentary was spot on. Highly recommended. Also did the Mount Wellington half day tour with Mark as our guide. Once again a very knowledgeable guide who actually made the trip fabulous. Fantastic experience: Port Arthur tour from Hobart. Gray Line ran a wonderful tour to Port Arthur, via the historic town of Richmond. It was a full day and our driver/guide was very knowledgeable and entertaining. Port Arthur was a very tuff convict settlement where a lot of prisoners died, 50% of the buildings are stone walls only, but if you like history, it's a wonderful place to visit

Fantastic experience: Just returned from a great tour to Port Arthur. Zac was fantastic with the careful driving at the same time, providing an amazing wealth of information. He was ever so patient and waited for us as we took endless photos of the beautiful landscape. Thoroughly enjoyed the tour which we could not have if we have to figure the way there ourselves and able to see the Tasman Arch, Devil’s Kitchen and the Remarkable Cave and all the sights without the stress.

Fantastic experience: What a fantastic way to end our short stay in Hobart. Clare, our talented bus driver/photographer took us on the Russell Falls day tour. The rainforest was amazing and Clare was very familiar with this area, so we easily understood why she loved this place so much. I have seen many waterfalls over the years, but never have I experienced the thrill and spectacle of these falls. To top it off, the small group of seven, all received (professionally taken) photos from Clare. Everything about this trip was A1. From being introduced to the tour by Tim in the booking office, to the gorgeous picnic spot Clare chose by the stream, we couldn’t find a fault with any part of the day.

Fantastic experience: We did the half day Richmond tour with Tim, his passion and knowledge were outstanding. It was a very enjoyable afternoon. When it was time to go I had not been up to the Catholic sandstone Church, as soon as I mentioned this, Tim said no issues and took us there so we could have a look and take photos, that is service for you. Fantastic experience: This was a great tour. Phil was a superb host so knowledgeable. All the places we went to just beautiful, port Arthur was amazing as much as all the other stops. Next time we’ll spend more time there.

Positive experience: Loved our tour to Mt. Wellington and the tour guide. However, the lady who did the booking at the pier overbooked the bus, didn't give information as to where the tour started (which resulted in a 25 min delay on a 2 hr tour), and then got on the bus and shouted at passengers to get off fast because the next tour was getting late, which was very unpleasant.

Fantastic experience: These guys ROCK!!! Tim was our tour guide for our bus journey to Port Arthur (16 Oct 2022) and Kim was on the desk at the pier. Both were warm and friendly and ever so helpful. Lots of laughs on our bus tour with Tim and he was extremely knowledgeable - move over Mr Google Tim knows so much more!! It was a relaxed friendly day and one that will be fondly remembered. Positive experience: Did the Port Arthur tour with Phil on the Mon and the Grand Hobart with Jim on the Tues. Both drivers were very friendly and gave clear directions of when they will be leaving or when stopping for a break gave good tips for where to get a bite to eat. I was able to be dropped me off out front of hotel.and the pick up spot was around the corner so not too far as i have a mobility issue. Would use Grayline again when i come back for another holiday.

Fantastic experience: Phil was an amazing tour guide/ bus driver. He has a vast knowledge about Tasmanian history as well as present statistics. There are few jokes in between and it would be funny when everyone becomes silent coz no one pick it up! Hahaha!! Having a baby with us, Phil was very accommodating to our needs.. We also accidentally forgot our mobile and just after a phone call to their office, Phil came back to give it to us. It was indeed a great experience and would highly recommend the Port Arthur tour from this company

Fantastic experience: I was invited as a guest to go on “Experience Tasmania Tour.” We went down to the Tasman Peninsula to visit the Historic site of Port Arthur. Tim was our guide, and boy o boy does that man has so much knowledge to share about everything. Not only were we shone a really great time at the historical site, but we received a education. Another bonus was we got to see some really special land makes that make Tasmania really special. Thank you for inviting me, and thank you Tim for a very enjoyable and informative day.
