Fantastic experience: We booked the long day trip Daintree, Mossman Gorge, and Cape Tribulation. Due to many road issues, we couldn't go to Cape Tribulation but visited plenty of other places. Our driver was Mario, a calm man with a lot of knowledge about the park and the animals. It was very pleasant to spend the day with him. We started with a stop to see wallabies and then drove via Port Douglas to Mossman for tea with a delicious scone at Mossman Temptation cafe. After that, we went to Thorton Beach. Then, a lovely ice cream at Floravilla, 4 cups of flavorful ice cream. And then a wonderful lunch at Daintree Teahouse with a very enthusiastic explanation about all the fruits on our plate. Not only super tasty but also very interesting. Then we went on a river cruise where we saw several bird species and crocodiles, and afterward to the stunning Mossman Gorge for a nice walk and a refreshing swim in the river. We were away for 13 hours, but it was absolutely worth it. A definite recommendation!

Fantastic experience: We did the day tour with Matt. He was knowledgeable and enthusiastic about this stunning area. The pacing of the tour was good with enough time look around. The crocodile cruise was a highlight, we saw many crocs. I recommend taking a quick dip in the creek! Oh, and don't skip the ice cream!

Positive experience: We enjoyed exploring the beach, the Daintree walkway in the Mossman Gorge and the boat trip to spot crocodiles and birds. Jeremy was great at spotting wildlife and our lunch was delicious and included local fruits with an interesting and informative talk about them by the restaurant host. While there was a lot of driving involved we were thrilled to spot so many birds, including a cassowary.

Fantastic experience: Port Douglas day out to the Daintree in July 2024. Couple of highlights, certainly Steve the tour guide he was an awesome bloke and our family of four really appreciated his running commentary. It was both informative and highly amusing. Loads to see as others have said, we had the pleasure of a somewhat quirky lunch with a lecture on tropical fruits. It’s certainly a memorable lunch and day out

Fantastic experience: We went on the bus trip with Lawrence as our tour guide last Tuesday, 28th may to Port Douglas, Mossman gorge and the daintree rainforest. Lawrence is AMAZING, fun, vibrant and so full of knowledge of the area. He is a big asset to your company. We would definitely recommend a trip to anyone visiting Cairns. The bus was very comfortable and a good size group of 12, we saw so much in a short time.

Fantastic experience: We had such a lovely tour of the Daintree Rainforest and Mossman Gorge with our tour driver Mario! We learned so much, about the area, the national parks and all the wildlife we passed. I could listen to a podcast from Mario his voice was so relaxing and engaging!! The tour was packed full of sights and accommodating stops, we loved it but still didn't feel rushed. The size of the tour group was perfect and the bus was clean and comfortable. We passed a few other tour groups and knew we made the right choice with Discovery!! Definitely recommend to anyone visiting for the first time and even those who live in the area but want to learn a bit more. Thank you Mario and all the lovely team at Discovery Tours!

Fantastic experience: Did a half-day 4WD tour with Jason. Utterly breathtaking views . Fantastic guide with an abundance of local insight and information. Loved the side discussions on sustainable ecology.

Negative experience: My friend and I have booked tour from Adelaide to Darwin by train, Ghan, and four days in Darwin with tours in and around the city. Today my third day, and I am very disappointed with tour in the city. If I knew what we were going to see I would escape this drive from Army Museum to Aviation Museum and Museum full of old cars, motorbikes… Each visit lasted 45 -60 mins. I’m starving. It’s 1.48 pm no lunch.

Fantastic experience: What an experience! We had the best time exploring the beauty of the rainforest. Mario was very friendly and an amazing guide very helpful. Lunch at the a tree cafe was amazingly great .I would recommend Discovery Tours any time .

Fantastic experience: Jim, tour guide to the Daintree Forest , Mossman Gorge and Cape Tribulation was the whole package in terms of knowledge, enthusiasm, fun, entertainment and upbeat energy..the sites we visited were amazing and memorable ..he even conjured up a Cassowary on the way home , lol, well, the bird strutted across the road but we let Jim bags that one.. She was very professional and fun, and the sights we saw included Port Douglas, Mossman Gorge, and of course the Daintree and crocs. It's a fun filled, packed day!!

Positive experience: Arriving on a cruise ship with a limited time frame Discovery Tours obliged with a very personal experience beyond their normal schedule which we very much appreciated. Our driver Steve was fun, considerate, knowledgeable and accommodating. Loved the small group experience and rainforest and waterfall destinations and the delicious icecream. Only wee negative comment is that bigger windows for the rear passengers would have been nice. Otherwise excellent and just us in the magical forest was very special.

Fantastic experience: Just returned from Daintree Rainforest and Mossman Gorge tour today. It was a most memorable tour for me. Of course, due credit goes to Discovery, its vision and its meticulous planning but I would personally give more credit to Mr.Mario, today's our tour guide. Very unassuming, gentle, sober, soft spoken, highly knowledgeable and most cooperative person to see and interact.

Fantastic experience: We went on the full day Daintree & Cape Tribulation Tour, picked up from our accommodation and a full on day seeing so much of the magnificent tropics of North Qld. We even came across 2 adult Cassowaries and a chick. Michelle our tour guide did a wonderful job and kept us entertained all day. Highly recommend this tour and company.

Fantastic experience: We booked the Cape Tribulation, Daintree Rainforest and Mossman Gorge package- 12 hours worth with morning tea and lunch was a very good deal. Warwick, our tour guide was on time, he gave us a lot of information about the flora and fauna not only in the rainforest but even during the drive. He even gave general trivia on a lot of things ranging from aviation, sugar cane processing, buildings along the way, landscape, historical info about Cairns,etc. We felt very looked after and entertained- even during lunch, the host even gave a presentation about the different tropical fruits on our plates- pretty interesting… their Barramundi is a must try! Oh and the morning tea damper and tea were delicious.

Fantastic experience: Awesome 4wd tour from Cairns to famouus tip horn Island. Daryl and lawerence sensational tour guides who are fun, serious when need to be, wealth of knowledge. Highly recommend discovery tours even with cost as worth every penny to keep all safe, secure and enjoyable as solo traveller with ptsd.

Fantastic experience: We had an amazing day. 7 to basically 7. Heaps to see. Mario was an excellent tour guide, very knowledgeable and very popular with all the travelers on the bus. We loved that it was a small bus of only approximately 14 people. Once again can not recommend Mario high enough with out such a outstanding guide the tour would not have been the same.

Fantastic experience: Had an amazing full day tour to the Daintree & Cape Tribulation. Our tour guide Michelle really took the time to get to know us and her small additions to the day really made it enjoyable. She was entertaining, knowledgeable and considerate. From the movie soundtracks to the refreshing cold towels after our river tour, she made sure everything was perfectly planned out. You could really tell she loved her job and was passionate about the Daintree and surrounding wildlife. Best tour guide I’ve ever experienced!!! 5 stars!!!

Fantastic experience: We did the small group 9 day tour to Cape York. The whole trip was amazing. Darryl our guide and driver was a wealth of knowledge and such a nice guy. If you are thinking of doing this tour, do not hesitate. It is a holiday we will never forget, capped off with standing at the tip of Australia. I could honestly talk about this holiday forever. Fantastic experience: Had the absolute pleasure of spending the day with your host Michelle. Mossman Gorge, Daintree and Cape Tribulation tour. Even though it was a very wet day the tour was so much fun. Michelle is very knowledgeable and is very competent at her job. Highlight of the tour for me was Michelle getting us all to sing the Titanic theme song as we crossed in the ferry !!

Fantastic experience: We had the best holiday on Cairns/Cape York fly Drive tour! 6 women in one 4WD with great tour guide Laurie, kept us laughing for 9 days! Mick with 3 couples in other 4WD shared many fun times, and the tour guides got along great - humour, knowledge, driving skills! Showed us far north QLD to the max - accommodation awesome, food wonderful, friendly hospitality. Would do it again in a heartbeat!!

Fantastic experience: We experienced the full day Daintree tour yesterday 6/7/22. It was one of the best tours we have ever done. Our guide, Simon, is clearly invested in his work and his knowledge of the flora and fauna was astonishing and without him we would have missed out on so much. At each place we stopped at - for morning tea, lunch and the river cruise to see the crocs- were amazing as well. 100% recommend

Fantastic experience: Booked the day trip tour to Daintree Rainforest, Cape Tribulation, and Port Douglas from Cairns. Laurence was an top notch tour guide from pick-up to drop-off,l; our group learned a lot about the region, had some laughs and, as a solo traveler, I had some experiences I will never forget. I would recommend this to any friend and would book another tour with DTA without hesitation. Money well spent.

Positive experience: Overall a good day of sightseeing. Our guide was friendly, funny, knowledgeable and organised (calling ahead with tea/coffee orders, ensuring lunch orders were organised etc). Millaa Millaa falls was a great little dip, lunch was enjoyable and Paronella Park was impressive. Pack your bathers and a towel, don't regret not taking dips (even if a bit fresh) in beautiful spots! The morning pickups and evening drop offs can take some time, so expect that as part of the package given you're not driving yourself and pack some snacks/a book etc.

Positive experience: We did a two day tour including one day on the reef and the other at Mossman/Daintree rainforest. Reef Day - three stars. There was confusion with our bus pickup and the only reason we made it to the boat for departure was because we called the agency who got into contact with the driver. The communication from staff on board regarding the amount of time at each location was insufficient and made it difficult to make the most of the experience. We had gone with Discovery tours for the small group experience and we were on a boat with 65 other people. The day was run by Reef Experience. Gear provided was in reasonable condition except the wetsuits that had holes in them. Still enjoyed seeing the reef and doing the introductory scuba lesson. I wouldn't book this tour for a second time. Rainforest tour - FIVE STARS! Michelle our guide was superb! She was friendly, knowledgeable and was very forthcoming with details of the itinerary. She was helpful in taking photos and in ensuring each guest was able to make the most of their experience. The group for this tour was 16 which was much more in line with our expectations. The morning tea and lunch that were provided were delicious! We couldn't believe how many activities were packed into one day. Would highly recommend this tour for anyone looking to explore the area!

Positive experience: Our tour guide Brett was respectful and considerate to everyone's needs whilst still maintaining group objectivity. The day was fun and lots of different things to see and admire - Brett, as a local, provided us great insights and context, helping us soak in the experience even more. Though the roads are extremely narrow and with heaps of curves and bends, Brett showed his safe driving skills :) If I have to be very picky, I would say the day tour should skip palm cove to save sometime for either Daintree or head back earlier in the evening.

Fantastic experience: I did the Daintree, Mossman Gorge and Cape Tribulation Tour with tour guide Darryl and had a great time! Overall an incredible day visiting beautiful places. The tour group is limited to 14 people in an air conditioned minibus which are both pluses! Not only did we visit scenic national parks & lookouts but we were invited to discover some of the local Aboriginal culture at the Mossman Gorge Centre. The food throughout was incredible (particularly lunch at the Daintree Tea House) and Darryl was a great and funny guide. The natural scenery was absolutely stunning and a highlight was definitely the Daintree River cruise & stopping for ice cream at Floravilla! I highly recommend this tour if you’re in Cairns and are looking for a day trip!

Fantastic experience: This Daintree Rainforest Tour was absolutely fantastic. The bus driver/tour guide was very informative and professional. The bus was comfortable and clean. Small group sizes. The highlight on this day was definitely the river cruise at the Daintree river, we saw so many crocodiles, a tree snake and a lot of birds. I enjoyed this tour very much - thank you.

Fantastic experience: We have just done the Mossman gorge/danintree River/ Cape tribulation tour. WOW what a privilege it was be on this tour... From the time we were picked up to drop off was well worth the money. Mick our guide and driver made the day really special from his knowledge of Australian history right down to his dad jokes and his Spotify play list...cheers mick for making our experience unforgettable.

I learnt so much on this tour and also ticked all the boxes. It was a blessing we got to see the wildlife in their habitat! We saw croc in our Daintree River tour and David was so passionate and also heavily knowledgeable about wildlife and we saw cassowary which is not a guarantee to see at all… blessed ! Food was AMAZING, only can give 7 stars the 2 extra is for Mick, THANK YOU MICK ! Only constructive feedback would be a bit more time at mossman gorge looking at the rain forest and less time talking about the fruits at lunch.. which was very informative but felt informations overload I guess.. only 3 fruit reading would of done the job …Anyway thank you for it all

Fantastic experience: 7am-7pm full day tour, crammed full of activities and sightseeing! Our guide Mario was knowledgeable, very approachable and friendly. He knew heaps about the areas fauna and flora. He picked us up from our accommodation in Cairns in a 14 seater comfortable bus. Delicious and interesting lunch was provided, we were lucky to see a crocodile this time of year on the river cruise part of the day. Was so nice to sit back and relax while watching the scenery and learning about the area while someone else drove. Just bring an umbrella/poncho as it was raining and we weren’t prepared. But definitely worth the money!

Negative experience: Have been trying since February to get 3 extra days at end of your and still trying to get it sorted. Got wrong flight information. Trip starts 28/7 and still do not know where accommodation is, what the confirmed itinery is, when we are doing what.

Fantastic experience: First time in Cairns and we booked our Daintree Rainforest/Cape Tribulation/Port Douglas full-day tour including our healthy lunch; we had an awesome time with a small group in a reliable Mercedes van; Steve is a champ doing all the informative talking and keeping us awake with his jokes while safely driving us around. Fantastic experience: Great trip to Daintree. Our guide Caston was humorous and fun but also very informative. This trip was so worthwhile. We packed in the Mossman gorge with a great swim in the gorge, the Daintree rainforest, views, the market, a cruise to spy birds, bats, and crocodiles, lovely lunch - with a passionate presentation about local fruits, local farm ice cream. The tour included so many things and packed in with information about Australia, nature, and yet we stuck to a timetable - quite amazing. It is a small group tour which made it possible to do so much and also interact with group members. I cannot recommmend this trip more highly.

Fantastic experience: Had a tour to the rain forest with Darryl a couple of weeks ago in Cairnes. In retelling our amusing antecdotes about our adventures in Australia, his stories always make the top of the list. His knowledge and sense of humor was perfect. He picked us up and dropped us off right in front of our hotel with a great stop half way thru to taste the local honey and fruits. Highly recommend this company and in particular Darryl!

Fantastic experience: We did the 1 day Daintree, Cape Tribulation, and Mossman Gorge tour. We had an amazing long day! Picked up on time @7:40 and dropped off @18:00 (Trinity Beach). The tour is limited to 14 people and we were 8 today. You get to see a lot in a day but it also mean that you cannot spend a lot of time in each location. If you have 1 day to visit, this is the perfect tour ! There is a breakfast break before visiting Mossman Gorge which is really nice with tea and coffee. The lunch is excellent where you can try local products. You also get to do a Daintree river cruise which is great. The company they use is eco friendly and the guide is absolutely passionate about the river and its wildlife. Last but not least, Steve, our guide, was absolutely great! He was everything to make this day a memorable one. Thanks again!

Fantastic experience: 6 STARS IF WE COULD! We enjoyed the Daintree Rainforest and Cape Tribulation Full Day Tour in December 2018. Our guide was Jean and he was hands down the funniest tour guide I have ever met! Cyclone Owen had caused some heavy rainfall, and our trip was interrupted by multiple land slides. He could not get us to the lunch restaurant when he had intended and the roads to Cape Tribulation were closed off, but he didn't sweat. He rescheduled activities and kept in good spirits. He gave up his own evening to make sure we got to experience everything that we had signed up for and did we ever get our money's worth! From seeing a Cassowary and some salt-water Croc's, to navigating the bus through landslides and playing some hilarious Aussie music, this tour was one of the most fun and diverse experiences we had while in Australia!

Fantastic experience: This is a smaller company still holding their own against the big ones! These guys are a canned “go here” “say this” they offer an amazing tour and Warren is really really good! Think twice before going with another and give these guys a shot! You won’t be sorry!

Fantastic experience: I can only recommend Discovery Tours Australia; they were very punctual at the agreed pickup point (hotel), and the bus ride was very pleasant. Our tour guide (Steve Herdegen) was very professional and one of the best tour guides I know. During the journey, he told us about the different towns and landmarks we passed by, joked around, and shared stories to lighten the mood. We were informed about some animals and plants we encountered in the rainforest; it's amazing what we could experience and see in just one day. Next time, I will definitely travel again with Discovery Tours Australia, and of course, only with the same tour guide.

Positive experience: I booked the full day tour (Daintree & Cape Trib) for my last day in Cairns. Wonderful day with guide Mick. He is very knowledgeable and personable and I highly recommend this full day out. 14 people max, I was one of 9 this day in the very comfy Mercedes people mover. You are taken care of, well fed at lunch, well informed by an experienced guide who loves his job and I laughed along the way. The only thing I would change is swap the order of Port Douglas and Palm Cove. In my opinion, Port Douglas has nothing to ‘look at’ except a look out and Palm Cove has many ancient melaleuca trees on the foreshore in amongst the cafes and hotels. I was promised a visit to Palm Cove as per advertised itinerary but I only got a drive through at dusk and I didnt get to hug a melaleuca. Not the end of the world, and I now have a good reason to go back ! We did see a cassowary!

Positive experience: Carsten our guide was very informative & entertaining & I reckon his observational comedy would give Henning Wehn a run for his money. He’s hands down the funniest tour guide I’ve ever encountered. Plus we met some really nice folk who were all very polite & friendly. Three stars though. Carsten needs to instruct his passengers to put their seatbelts on as he drives quite fast & on one occasion he slammed the breaks on & came to a sudden stop in order to avoid hitting a small tree snake on the road. A mild whiplash & migraine headaches resulted. Prioritise the wellbeing of snakes by all means but perhaps consider the health & safety of your guests by making sure they’ve all buckled up & warn them that you might very well slam the breaks on at any moment should you see a snake on the road. A negative included a bit where Carsten was a little too informative when he pointed out a beach carpark that we wizzed by where a young woman was murdered a few days ago; the murderer is still at large; & police have absolutely no leads & are asking for anyone who might have dashcam footage from that day. Disturbing news indeed. Another slight niggle was a point in the gorge where we lost sight of Carsten as there were paths going here & there & lots of people about. We wondered which direction he had headed but we managed to work it out & catch up. He walked swiftly when moving from location to location, I found that I had to really motor to keep up with him (& I’m a fitness instructor). The highlight of the whole tour was the swim in the gorge. It was absolutely breathtakingly beautiful. Carsten encouraged us to not towel dry too much as the minerals in the water are great for your skin. But sadly that was later offset by the river ‘cruise’ when our boat captain decided to venture his absolutely full to capacity boat up a very narrow stream to a mosquito breading ground (fully aware that he was taking us to a location infested with mosquitoes as he announced quite casually that it was infested with mosquitos as he started venturing to the location). The mosquito spray was passed around & we all lathered it on, but it was totally ineffective. Most of the guests onboard spent more time looking to prevent mozzies attacking them than trying to see a glimpse of a crocodile that doesn’t want to be seen. That part of the tour totally sucked!!! Plus on the way back the music coming through the speakers on the mini bus was nightclub loud (which perhaps added to the intensity of our migraines). Lastly, if you’re a big eater go the chicken. It looked like the largest serve. The barramundi was nice but was only a very small serve. The bloke who had the kangaroo said that it was delicious but that he was hungry again within the hour. All in all it was still a good day because we made new friends with a really nice Canadian couple; we got to walk in the oldest rainforest in the world; & we walked in the waters of the only place in the world where a world heritage reef & a world heritage rainforest meet. So cool.

Positive experience: We did the Daintree & Cape Tribulation tour. We mostly walked and admired views. Our tour guide was quite unenthusiastic and we felt rushed from place to place. This seems like a tour for older people or families with kids, not for young couples or anyone seeking adventure. The lunch was delicious, but overall this tour was quite expensive and not worth the price.
