Negative experience: We booked a complimentary tour through Ignite for Skyrail & Train. Due to the flood, the train has been closed but the skyrail remain operating. Rather than allowing us to pay additional single way trip down (in lieu of train), this idiot business rather shut down the entire tour without any notice or communication and expect us to pay full price instead with Skyrail. It is understandable because of the train but we waited a week for them to say they are planning a detour. Skyrail company said this is possible but they haven’t been in contact with Down Under ever since the train has stopped operating. It has been a back and forth game with Down Under and Ignite telling me to contact each other. This was meant to be our getaway holiday and so far it’s been a nightmare dealing with this issue. ** this has been resolved and we were able to change.

Negative experience: Literally a tour for retirees. We did Cape Tribulation and Daintree Forest with a minibus of about 25 people. Out of 12 hours of the tour, more time was spent on the minibus (trying not to vomit from the discomfort): we saw the forest on foot for about half an hour, nothing exciting. The lunch wasn't bad, but having it at 11:30 seemed too early. Cape Tribulation is basically a nice beach, we stayed for 10 minutes. We ate the ice cream on the minibus, not even time to stretch our legs and sit comfortably at a table. The river tour was truly useless, saw only 1 crocodile from afar towards the end of the tour. I wouldn't do it again, it's not worth the price.

Fantastic experience: Highly recommend these guys they are a small locally owned company. We had two tours with them. Firstly, we did Kuranda, and it was amazingly organised. Andrew was very friendly, professional, and super knowledgeable about Cairns. He kept engaging with everyone on the bus their and back it was a lovely day. Secondly, we went on the cruise and dive tour. We snorkelled, this was also very well organised plenty of time to snorkel, lunch was great plenty of food for everyone beautiful local produce it was a fantastic day could not fault the crew at all. Thank you all for the amazing experiences.

Fantastic experience: Day tour to kuranda was easy and efficient thanks to the pick up service. They also let us stay more after the train was more than one hour late. Would definitely recommend!

Fantastic experience: Cape Tribulation, Daintree and Mossman Gorge taken by my wife and I on the 22nd August 24. We are in our 70 tees and found the trip absolutely well planned and well worth the booking. Our thoughts go to our driver and guide Uta, who was full of energy all day and an absolute delight all throughout the entire trip. (360 klm) Highly recommend she receive a pay rise.

Fantastic experience: Our tour guide Uta was excellent, friendly, very knowledgeable and excellent driver. Food on the tour was all inclusive and very good. Would recommend this tour as driving it by yourself would be awful given road and traffic conditions.

Positive experience: Rob our bus driver was so lovely and knowledgeable with local history facts. Afternoon at Hartley’s crocodile park felt a little rushed as we arrived on the bus later than planned. I had my five children including a 7week old baby so needed regular feed and change breaks that limited what tours we could join.

Fantastic experience: We went to Mossman Gorge Daintree and cape tribulation with Joe from down under tours. I don't know how Joe managed to talk through the whole trip. Very informative and friendly. Hubby and Joe had a catch up about their days in Opunake New Zealand.

Fantastic experience: I had a great day out with friends and family at Kuranda on Thursday. The Skyrail and the train are amazing and have spectacular views. Kuranda village is very nice, the markets are good and have plenty of food options. We brought some opal and really unique clothes. The team at down under tours, skyrail, and kuranda scenic rail were amazing. They really created such a nice atmosphere. 100% recommend!!!!

Fantastic experience: We had a wonderful day tour visiting Mossman Gorge, Daintree and Cape Tribulation. Our guide Joe was friendly, helpful and a wealth of knowledge about the area, with lots of fun facts along the way. Joe is passionate about the region and it shows and was greatly appreciated. We hoped off our tour at the end of the day suitably tired and very happy! Thank you!

Fantastic experience: Scott was our guide through Mossman Gorge, Daintree rainforest, and to Cape Trib. He was absolutely phenomenal. We had questions about native species of every plant, insect, mammal, everything , and he had an educational and genuine answer for each. After I showed interest in entomology he went out of his way to spot a katydid for me that we don’t have in the USA and showed me personal photos he has acquired! A very engaging and insightful guide paired with the beautiful scenery of the tour made for a delightful day. A fair bit of walking is done so if you’re older take stabilizing shoes and bring water. It is great for all ages. Highly recommended tour.

Fantastic experience: We had a truly wonderful day with Downunder Tours in Cairns today. Coach pick up was spot on time with hotel to the rail station. Great train ride to Kuranda. Spectacular stop to view Barron Falls on the way. Headed back to Cairns on the Spectacular Cablecar ride . Met by Downunder Coach at the Smithfield Termial at end of our Skyrail trip above the beautiful Daintree Rainforest. Greeted warmly by charming Mitch our driver back to our city hotel. Thank you Mitch for your cheerful and safe 3.15 pm coach trip today. You were truly awesome and took great care of us and all on board your coach today. Fantastic experience: We took the down under reef tour and it was fantastic. The ship was brand new (and huge), the staff were very friendly and helpful, the food was decent and amazingly all the extra items available for purchase were reasonably priced ($5 beer, $2 sea sickness tablets, $35 rented underwater camera, etc...). The refs we went to were awesome. Tip- go during bad weather and there will be less people on the boat and apparently it is more likely you will see giant turtles if the weather is bad. Of course the seas will be rougher, but that didn't bother me. All in all, it was a great tour!

Fantastic experience: The Great Barrier Reef tour was EPIC! All of the staff on-board were really nice, funny and great with their service. The equipment was all very good, the team were professional in their approach and we saw so many amazing things! Thank you to the team for getting us to some epic spots, underwater photographer and good food! We will certainly be back again!

Fantastic experience: We did the Mossman Gorge, Daintree, Cape Tribulation tour in July and cannot recommend it highly enough. It was brilliant!!! Scott was our guide and was extremely informative at the stops as well as pointing out highlights and history along the way. We had a terrific morning tea and the lunch was excellent quality ( I had Barra and the others had perfectly cooked steak) in lovely surroundings and of course, the fruit sorbet ice creams for afternoon tea were also very yum. The sights and the river cruise ( we saw 2 crocs) really exceeded our expectations, only disappointed that the cassowaries were in hiding. Fabulous day and would love to even do it again, the scenery is so beautiful and interesting. Scott, you are a treasure and your knowledge and funny stories really made the day for us, thank you.

Fantastic experience: Down Under Tours can be congratulated on a fantastically 'designed' tour to Cape Tribulation, Daintree & Mosman Gorge, Queensland! The tour began in a very comfortable 4WD 'bus' to Cape Tribulation & a wonderful guided tour through the Daintree rainforest; a cruise along the Daintree River; morning tea at Mosman Gorge & a delicious tropical lunch ( we had the barramundi ) served at a restaurant amongst the backdrop of the rainforest! We also had a guided walk on the cape Tribulation Beach.... & finished off with a yummy tropical fruit icecream! We cannot speak highly enough about our bus driver/tour guide; Scott! He was very knowledgeable, interesting, witty & also managed to keep our group safely together throughout the tour! We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.....

Positive experience: Was a mix up as one of the experiences cancelled . Didn't re-book it properly for the day after so caused some issues, almost missed out. Full refund still pending. Have used them previously so will give them 4 * this time around .

Fantastic experience: We thoroughly enjoyed our Daintree forest/river, Mossman Gorge tour with our fantastic driver and guide Scott. We were promptly picked up from our accommodation in the bus, which was very clean, cool and comfortable for our day's travelling. Scott's commentary and knowledge was first class throughout a wonderful day exploring the natural beauty of the area. HIs knowledge of the plants/wildlife/area was great and he was able to spot things that we wouldn't have seen otherwise! We were unable to get to Cape Tribulation due to damage caused by the recent cyclone but enjoyed our stop at Thornton beach. The lunch at Heritage lodge was delicious and was a lovely area to explore post lunch. The damper and tea at Mossman Gorge and icecream at Daintree Ice cream company were outstanding. A memorable day!!

Negative experience: Avoid, avoid, avoid!! Left us waiting for 45 minutes at the pick up spot before we reached out to our travel agent and found that the tour was cancelled! Zero effort or attempts were made by down under tours to tell us that the tour was not going ahead and we booked 4 days prior! I’m also glad we reached out as I don’t think they would have contacted us and they still haven’t contacted us to apologise! To leave customers waiting at a pick up spot and waste a day of their holiday is unforgivable when we have such limited time here. So many better alternatives for tour groups, such as Cairns adventure group who prioritise the customer.

Fantastic experience: We did the Cape tribulation, mossman gorge, and daintree River tour. An amazing day with our wonderful and informative guide Uta. Saw 2 crocodiles, and gained plenty of knowledge about the locations and wildlife!

Negative experience: I only got to the phone to book and ask for help, the person who answered the phone was far from friendly or helpful. So much for ringing the company directly.

Positive experience: Did train to Kuranda, it was fantastic. Got skyrail back,that was fantastic too. But waited from 4.45pm for bus at 5.20pm. Was sitting at bus station and obviously bus didn't do head count and we were left to get cab at 6pm. Not impressed

Positive experience: If you're under 50 years old, this tour is not for you (Daintree forest + Gorge Masson + Cape Tribulation). There is nothing amazing to see: we saw two crocodiles, two dragons something (like a chameleon) and some spiders. It takes all day, it's a lot of travel if you leave from Cairns and it's really not worth it. Besides, it's very expensive for how little appealing the destinations are. I don't rule out that it might be a good tour for older people; the guide is good, the transfers are super clean and punctual, the food is good... But it doesn't stand out either.

Negative experience: too expensive, better to book directly with Kuranda Railway

Negative experience: Sad experience, booked a package of sky-rail, train and hotel pick up. Unfortunately due to bad weather sky rail got cancelled. Charged us good amount for the package but when there was a time for refund, had to wait for a while and check continuously for the amount with this agent many times. Ended up getting a low amount of refund of $37.29 which was not even a bit of $158 which was paid for the total package. They ended of saying $37.29 is the most we can do as we keep the rest as commission. Will not recommend to book through them. Better to book through the sky rail directly.

Fantastic experience: Great experience with them. Our tour guide/ driver of the bus Peter was such a fun person. He is hilarious and made sure everyone was comfortable and not stressed . Highly recommended!!

Negative experience: Today during our tour with another company a Down under tour bus overtook our bus with no consideration for the wildlife signs at all. Signs everywhere saying slow down, watch for cassowaries, so we were doing the 60km speed limit slowing down for the 20km speed humps when the tour bus overtook us and was gone out of sight. So dangerous where and how he passed us. Only to see him 5 minutes later at the icecream place where he abused our driver for going 'too slow' at the speed limit and proceeded to raise his voice at our driver saying if he called the company he would tell them that our driver stopped in the middle of the road. Completely untrue. Very dangerous and rude driver. I would not recommend for your safety and the safety of the wildlife using this company at all.

Negative experience: If I could give a negative rating I would. Booked and paid for tour to Daintree, Mosman & Tribulation 2 months previous just to get an email a couple days before saying that a tour the day b4 ours was cancelled then on the morning of our tour to be told by the office that there was a typo in the email SOO SORRY (NO YOU ARE NOT!!) as it was meant to be my tour that was cancelled. How can you be overbooked for over 2 months and NOT have the decency to discover it until 2 days b4 a tour and not even be able to check that the cancellation email is correct. You picked up other people from my motel so the bus was not cancelled, just my booking. Absolutely useless management, wonder how long this refund is going to take...... if we ever see the refund....

Positive experience: The tour was excellent. It would have been five stars if not for the train being late causing us to not have alot of time in Kuranda. However it was excellent and ended with the funniest bus trip back to hotel thanks to Paul our bus driver. He was 10/10 and made us laugh so much

Negative experience: This tour company could not run a bath. Staff have no idea of their product, schedules or activities paid for. Paid for a full day tour from 9am and the bus does not get our family to the first activity until well after 12pm. We asked if there is a pickup from trinity Beach area and was told your tour only has one pickup which is now later. We then call on the day and was told the 9am was still happening but asked if there was a local pickup and only gave this option. We asked if they could taxi to Cairns for pickup to be told the 11.25 was the only shuttle for pickup. This was found to be also and truly misguided. Our family travelled from overseas and had on their list to do. They only had 90 mins to explore instead of the paid for 5 hrs.

Fantastic experience: brilliant tours and guides, buses comfortable and aircon. Beautiful area, military museum largest in Southern Hemisphere, skyrail, Kuranda railway tour. Beautiful put together, pick up and drop off to accommodation.

Fantastic experience: Went on the Mossman Gorge/Daintree/Cape Tribulation day trip today and it was fantastic. Daniel, our guide, was brilliant - gave us loads of information, answered all questions with ease, threw in some Aussie humour, pointed out wildlife we’d completely missed and was all round the best tour guide I have ever had, and I’ve done a lot of trips!

Fantastic experience: We had a fun day out in The Daintree Rainforeat, Daintree River and Cape Tribulation! Scott was amazing! Incredibly educational! We have learnt so much about Australia's history.Only sorta buzzkill were the roadworks but we couldn't have predicted that. Scott's horrible yet funny dad jokes distracted us from that. Fantastic experience: Our day tour to Mossman Gorge, Daintree River and Cape Tribulation was an excellent experience all round. The vehicle was very comfortable , super clean and felt very safe and in good hands. We were so lucky to have a fantastic guide Scott who shared so much interesting information and we saw so much of that part of FNQ including the wildlife.

Fantastic experience: On Wednesday the 3rd of August we visited Kuranda by booking a scenic train and sky rail tour with this company. They are very professional,well organised and most of all friendly and welcoming. On the way back to Cairns we had a driver who s name is Paul: he was simply amazing and made our day with his humour!Such an interesting person. Thank you Paul!

Fantastic experience: We had DUT plan a full day for us with train, skyrail and Heartly's. Everything went smooth, from pick-up to the ride back, and it was cheaper than it wouldve been if we had tried to plan it all ourselves. Special shout-out to Neil, who is the most natural tour guide I've ever met!

Fantastic experience: We booked a SkyRail combo to the Kuranda mountains with hotel transfers for a family of 5 and unfortunately I didn’t realise I missed one person until we were about to board the bus. The company was brilliant and sorted everything for us on the spot, got me a seat on the train despite it being full and printed out new passes for us which we were truly grateful for as I was worried one of us might miss out. The gondola ride was stunning with Barron waterfalls being the highlight of our trip. The train ride from Kuranda to Cairns was quite uncomfortable and I don’t they should be squashing 4 people onto what should be a 3 seater bench but the scenery and the breathtaking beauty of the area definitely makes up for it. You can book a Gold Class Cabin which I think would be more comfortable but it is $99 per person which is a little bit excessive. It’s an amazing day out and you can save some money by skipping the hotel transfer ($120 with or $179 without) it would have been more value for money if the driver provided some information about the area he was driving through but minor issue. Absolutely incredible day out and by far the best tour I’ve ever been on

Fantastic experience: We did the Daintree / Cape Trib / Mossman Gorge tour and Daniel was our guide. He was amazing! Full of knowledge and jokes to keep us informed, yet laughing the whole day. Beautiful locations and lots of gorgeous photo opportunities! Leaving from Cairns makes it a long day so if you have the choice, book from Port Douglas!

Fantastic experience: My wife and I experienced the Kuranda rail and Skyway and the Cape Tribulation tours. Both were handled in a very professional and caring manner. The Cape Tribulation tour started out well and got better as the day went on. People were missing from pickup, but the driver handled it all with ease. Daniel was our driver/guide and his sense of humour coupled with extensive environmental knowledge greatly enhanced the tour. We have been on tours all around the world and this was as good as the best, if not the best. Thanks Daniel.

Fantastic experience: Great touring company for an excellent reef experience! The crew were helpful and friendly, the boat was secure (the number of head counts and checks on equipment were impressive), and the locations and time on the reef were great.

Fantastic experience: We have just finished the Cape Tribulation, Daintree and Mossman Gorge tour with Down Under Tours. It was an awesome day, even though the weather was not friendly. Our tour guide and driver Scott was excellent at is job and was very informative through out the whole day, his dad jokes were really funny as well. He was also very good at working with the rain during the day. The whole day went like clockwork and was very well organised. Morning tea and lunch were very nice indeed and so was the ice cream before the trip back to our accommodation. Even though the weather wasn't the best all the spots we went to the scenery was amazing. This tour was very good value for money and I would have no hesitation in recommending Down Under Tours. Thankyou very much Scott for a wonderful day indeed.

Fantastic experience: We did the Mossman Gorge, Cape Tribulation and Daintree Rainforest trip with Down Under Tours and the experience was great. Greg was our tour guide and he was friendly, knowledgeable and approached the day with a great sense of humour. The tour was well organised and scheduled, allowing time at each place to explore a little before moving on. Being on the bus with the large windows allowed you to see the rainforest travelling in and out. Greg's commentary was informative and we really enjoyed being on his bus!

Fantastic experience: Daniel our tour guide was very knowledgeable about the local fauna and flora and animals. Well-paced walks, delicious morning tea, lunch and local Daintree icecream as our final treat! Very enjoyable tour made more so by Daniel's skills and ability to relate to everyone! Fantastic experience: My partner and I did the Kuranda tour! They provided us a transfers, ticket for Skyrail and the Kuranda Train. We had the best day in Kuranda. Everything was so peaceful and perfect❤️ We could do our own things and visit wherever we wanted to go in Kuranda. The freedom we had! Oh the best feelings!! Really enjoyed our day! Our bus driver was such a friendly person and gave us some tips when we go on a Skyrail Highly recommended!!

Negative experience: Very poor paid and was waiting for our pick up in the morning at 7:40 it was 7:50 and they were still not here so I called them up and found out that both bus drivers drove past our hotel and thought it was another hotel and got no way of turning around to come get us so now we miss out on the whole thing cause of them and there’s no compensation or anything or no way for them to even get us there so angry and so pathetic, wouldn't recommend them to anyone.

Negative experience: Found the experience very enjoyable and staff young and fun . However food was prepared by young staff and meat and fish were overcooked and variety was extremely limited . The food let this trip down big time, wouldn't visit them again.

Negative experience: Kuranda tour was cancelled without notice (despite claim of sent text message). Down Under Tours not responsible for cancellation, but surely responsible to tell its clients. Waited 30+ minutes at pickup location, unable to reach anyone via phone („not operational“ at 10am…). Refund within 3 days, but absolutely unacceptable service.

Negative experience: Yesterday I booked a tour for Kuranda for 2 adults and I received a text that my booking was done and pick up from my hotel. Today morning when the coach did not come, I called them and I was told that I cancelled the booking by a lady named Kristy. She said that the cancellation was made at 7:10am. I told her that I received a message at 7:19 am to be picked up at a different hotel. These useless people cancelled some one elses booking by just looking at the surname and mixed up with mine. She did not apologize and was being very stupid when I confronted her. Luckily the bus driver named Paul picked us up and said that since they started digital booking recently, they had messed up many bookings. If the bus driver wasn't cooperative, this booking service deserves negative feedback.
