Negative experience: Customer service is terrible… I just had the worst customer experience I’ve had in many years with Lena. So glad I dodged that bullet, and have the opportunity to book elsewhere. I can see below that other people have also had issues with her and this company. After Lena being incredibly rude to me, and blaming me for not communicating, i tried to explain my side of the experience with management who called me to say they wouldn’t deal with me Ha ha no worries Geelong Travel team, Im just glad I’m not stuck overseas somewhere dealing with this business!!

Positive experience: We have recently booked a 2025 Viking cruise from Norway with extra days added to the start with Geelong Travel and have found the agents Lena & Middison most pleasant to deal with by email, face to face or phone. Their email itineraries are well set out with all the cost, discounts and dates listed. We have now even added a Viking river cruise for Portugal to the end of our other cruise without any fuss and again all documented. Now looking forward to booking the required airfares when they become available and helping with the travel insurance. They have always been very clear on what days they work and payment timeline. Remember read the fine print. As we are fairly new to the Geelong area but not to traveling, l have always found if you treat the staff/agents well they do their very best to help you. There can be slipups at times in the process but it's how they are fixed to everyone's satisfaction. By the end of our booking process l expect to change the star rating to 5 . Thank you, Neil A.

Negative experience: Spoke with Lena to book a family holiday in Vietnam and when I asked for one hotel change in the tour the price increased by over $1600. When I questioned this didn't hear back from them. Have just booked with another company.

Fantastic experience: I’d never booked a trip through a travel agent before, but after dealing with Stuart from Geelong Travel I’d never do it any other way. Everything is taken care of, all the way down to the door to door airport service from the very excellent Tim the Limo driver.

Fantastic experience: We recently returned from a five week European trip. It included a stopover in Dubai, a Trafalgar tour of Croatia and Slovenia and a Viking River Cruise from Bucharest to Vienna. Everything went off without a hitch and it was a fantastic holiday. Lena Patterson took great care of us and was very experienced, helpful and friendly. We could not recommend her and Geelong Travel more highly.

Negative experience: If I could score zero stars I would. Our trip on the Indian pacific was supposed to be a once in a lifetime holiday, booked by Carolyn. It definitely was not. Where do I start! I have never encountered a travel agent with such incompetence. Mishap after mishap. All deposits were paid by due dates only to be emailed asking for quite a considerable amount to still be paid two weeks later. The error was made by travel agent from day one, booking was made late last year. Not impressed to be asked for this payment. No effort was made to meet us half way at all. When asked for a refund and two accounts were given for refund. Two cabins were booked. The full amount was deposited into my relatives account, when it was clearly stated that x amount was to be refunded into seperate accounts. I cannot understand how a business such as Geelong Travel is able to get it so wrong. Then we were threatened with legal action if the amount was not refunded back by the relative. Sorry its Geelong Travel mistake. No phone call or apologies have not heard back from the travel agent. I would never recommend Geelong Travel to anyone. With all these errors I don't know how they are still in business. Booked through Luxury-escapes for a quick get away to recover from all this stress. A family member booked this. It took all of 1 hour to book. Accommodation and flights. Something which Geelong Travel could not manage to do!!!

Fantastic experience: We used Geelong Travel to organize our European holiday in March this year. Our agent was Lena Paterson. She did an amazing job of putting together the itinerary, advising us on our best options for our European river cruise. I highly recommend Lena. We will definitely be getting her to help us with our next big trip.

Fantastic experience: I have just come back from my honeymoon booked with Geelong Travel and it was a once in a lifetime trip. Planned and executed to perfection with great help from the amazing team at GT. The Viking Mississippi River cruise ticked all the boxes and I highly recommend anyone thinking about this bucket list item to pop in and see the wonderful folk at Geelong Travel.

Negative experience: Wanted to change flights very difficult and expensive though I could have got a direct flight, has to stop over for 14 hours and the cost of a hotel. Highly recommend you book your own flights as it is easier to change and less expensive

Negative experience: Customer service is disgusting, never return calls or reply to emails. Do not book with them!!

Negative experience: I was reading their advertised Viking trips this morning(13/04)and thought that the trips as advertised were worthy of further consideration; so followed another couple and entered the shop to be confronted by a very arrogant male telling me the shop was closed come back Monday. Apon which he forcefully closed and locked the door.( virtually in my face) He could have relayed the message in a more pleasant way maybe something like “ sorry the shop is actually closed today (appointments only) can you please come back Monday. Sorry geelong travel I’ll get the brochures Direct or elsewhere.The man, presumably part of Geelong Travel, would benefit from a course in Customer relations. I didn’t have a chance nor given a chance to ask for brochure. Ian Stanford Belmont.

Fantastic experience: Wow wow wow! The initial service I received from Carolyn was excellent but then when my flight was delayed on the day to Morocco, I rang and spoke with Kristy and the team and within 5 hours they had me on another flight to ensure that I would not miss the start of my tour starting the next day. They sorted it for me and kept me informed. I cannot thank them enough, in particular Kristy, for their assistance. Absolutely awesome!!

Negative experience: Really unhelpful staff, avoid and go anywhere else, way too expensive as well.

Negative experience: I was referred to Rita as I wanted to support a small travel business after the pandemic. I asked if I could pay bpay and had a conversation about it and then I get home to read the paperwork and there's no option for it. I call and email and call to be be told- we don't offer it. Then she forgot my travel Insurance- (even though I had already paid for it, then questioned that I hadn't asked for it) (which again we had a lengthy conversation about due to my camera gear I take) Then I was supplied with the insurance for more countries than I'm going to. Luckily I didn't pay for the extra country added as I had already paid. I then emailed to ask about what/if any visas I needed to travel though the transit countries. No response. I also called to ask if I need the covid details now for the countries I was visiting and her response was- "well I don't think so?" The lack of confidence and care was poor to say the least. The ENTIRE REASON I book face-to-face is to receive these extra service details you don't get when booking online. But I may as well have done it myself as I didn't get any additional care or service. I've travelled overseas prior to covid a lot, and I've never had a travel agent like this.

Negative experience: Looked on their website and saw they were open until 4.30 on a Saturday, went in at 2.00pm and found the door locked and a lady sitting at the desk, knocked on the door and got a closed gesture, didn't even bother to get out of the chair and maybe book me to come in another time, I'm sure this person mustn't have been the owner, I wanted to book a 4 week Europe holiday, Well done Geelong Travel, great customer service, I'll be sure to tell all my retired traveler friends.

Fantastic experience: We have dealt with Loreta on a handful of holidays, pricing has been to our budget and she has been fantastic very professional, also with the latest Tempo Holidays we where in Europe and had to pay for a couple of our hotels twice, Geelong Travel where great and paid for our hotels, they made our holiday enjoyable, I am great full for that.
